  • Don’t get me wrong the whole dread motif is interesting and offers some very flavoursome designs but it could also just stem from they’re really good at close combat and hence having a reputation. Please do keep throwing ideas, I’m just here to temper the conversation

  • Quote from DarkSky: “As said before, the Bajonet idea is not bad per se, it offers something towards the goal, but I fear it might be a dead end as it makes conflicting with DL. Also rules like that, make the RA good without other Academy units nearby. A strong shoot/CC hybrid could also be extremely good on a weak flank. ” Yeah, the lightbulb did flash in my head...when i hit "submit" but then again re-branding Auxiliaries as "First Cohort" ?? Jokes jokes, i know our background won't line up wi…

  • To make a short story shorter, ask the background team. They dictate the fluff and effectively the army guidelines which in turn reflects the design space for rules.

  • Quote from youngseward: “Quote from KiRaHyuU: “As your friend that you’d actually be playing against. Remove unbreakable for Supernal & Stubborn. And then just make it 1000pts. ” So effectively the same thing but at a 200 point discount? With a bsb ld10 rerollable isnt going to be something you’d ever rely on crumbling. ” Buddy, this is you we’re talking about....you’d fail those ld10 re-rollables. Don’t even bother bringing that BSB. Just giving me another 200pts to take off yah

  • Quote from KiRaHyuU: “Quote from berti: “Regarding axiliarys: And losing parry in the same moment? ” LOL! My bad i should have qualified that...but yes good pick up! Bayonet: Two Handed. Attacks made with a Bayonet gain +1 Armour Penetration. Attacks made by a Bayonet gain +1 Ag and an additional +1 Armour Penetration in the First Round of Combat provided the unit is not engaged in it's Flank or Rear Facing. Models on foot wielding a Bayonet gain Parry. There now pick it apart! ” Something from …

  • @xaby86 theres a second thread up about ideas, just re-comment there and it'll be good enough

  • Quote from DarkSky: “From all the ideas on Auxiliaries I like the ones that either: ” You don't like my bayonet idea

  • @Calisson based on our very last update of the medusa, the background is the medusa is like the “final form” of an elf ie those blessed by Yema. I really hope our Background team would actually step up and actually for fluff pieces that improve/adds character to the army instead of electing other proverbial hills to make a last stand on

  • Dread Elves 2.0 Beta Armybook

KiRaHyuU - - Dread Elves (DE)

    Post

Quote from noir: “At the very least current dwarves really can be an uphill battle for us. Proper gunlines definitely can smash us. ” Agreed, especially if we don’t bring Bolt a Throwers. Essentially those games can boil into a 10-10 with some restraint.

  • As your friend that you’d actually be playing against. Remove unbreakable for Supernal & Stubborn. And then just make it 1000pts.

  • @GSbasic sorry I forgot to add Shake Shack into the mix

  • Quote from Lich King: “Quote from Calisson: “Please don't put burgers and fast food in the directive. And no, DE being based in T9A~North Murica is not an excuse. ” We're not talking about McDonald's, KFC or BK, okay? ” buddy, it’s all about In and out and Five guys now

  • The obligatory ETC DE lists post Argentina Juan José “Alex Hungar” Guerriri, Dread Elves 505 – Oracle, General, Master, Essence of Free MInd (Divination/Alchemy), Binding Scroll 745 – Cult Priest on Divine Altar, Paired Weapons Crew, BSB, Cult of Yema, Hand Weapon (Moraec's Reaping), Light Armour (Basalt Infusion), Shield, Lucky Charm 245 – Oracle, Adept, Cosmology 160 – 2x5 Dark Raiders 205 – 15x Dread Legionnaires, M, C 325 – 12x Blades of Nabh, C, S, Rending Banner 305 – 12x Blades of Nabh, S…

  • Quote from arwaker: “ Repeater Auxiliaries should be better in cc than HE and SE archers; dark riders should be better in cc than Elein Reavers and Heath Riders; raven cloaks (is that their name) should be better in cc than pathfinder and grey watches (or whatever their name is). I know all this is already now the case, but it should be a design goal to keep it like that. ” ...perfectly valid argument, just a dangerous route to go down

  • Quote from The Changing Constant: “Quote from KiRaHyuU: “Quote from The Changing Constant: “Just curious, if Dread Elves are meant to have mediocre defensive capabilities, what army has lower? It just feels like the range of values is not being properly represented. ” Zombies and Skeletons? ” Those are unit entries in an army that has r4 cavalry with 1+ save, t5 monstrous infantry with 5++ regen, and units with 3++ vs non-magical attacks. So are you arguing that everything in VC book should have…

  • Quote from The Changing Constant: “Just curious, if Dread Elves are meant to have mediocre defensive capabilities, what army has lower? It just feels like the range of values is not being properly represented. ” Zombies and Skeletons?

  • Quote from Peacemaker: “I wrote up a very detailed LAB proposal. ” Yeap read through it, plenty of novel ideas and some of which will be copy and pasted in proposals should they be required. Don't get me wrong, actual rule proposals are great but what we're looking for is something the community can all get behind in terms of how the book should look like; ie Should we be good at short range shooting? Should plate be a thing? Should the army be built in a way that prohibits Deathstar mentality? …

  • Quote from setrius: “If the enemy unit suffer any casuality provocate by "Cover Volley" in the next Combat phase cant use the rule Support Attacks. ” hahahaha death to line formation But yes it would help our combat defence, less attacks equals less casualties.

  • Quote from arwaker: “Furthermore: I think it is very important that characters do not profit from the priest_buff. If they would, the priest would have to be priced very high with the result that only deathstar builds are attractive. This I think nobody wants. ” Could instead put the cost of the buff into the actual characters (captain and princes) when they decide to join a Cult instead of loading it onto the Cult Priest.

  • Sorry didn’t actually mean you have to give me an actual point value - just how you would come to deciding a pts value for the rule? Which, you answered so many Gold stars*** Thank you good sir! Please also insert a word for word of the rule so we can copy and paste it easier at a later date when the issue arises.
