    JamesMcDonnell - - ETC

With ETC 2019 all finished its time to look towards ETC 2020. This year the ETC will be held in Luxembourg from the 7th to the 9th of August 2020. Team Ireland would like to officially open the application process for a place on the team. This process is open to both Irish and international players. Before applying applicants should be aware of the following: - travel to ETC involves a financial commitment of roughly 1000 euro (flights, accommodation, ETC ticket, dice and t shirts). So please co…

  • Quote from Tanka: “Return atm is £30 (£48 with hand baggage). ” Basically free

  • Quote from demgear: “Reminder for people traveling from abroad to book flights as they are cheap at the minute. Will also be looking for deposits in the next 2 to 3 weeks. Thanks to those who have paid all ready ” Can’t wait for this. Just need to get ETC out of the way and we can start focusing on the real event of the year.

  • Quote from sparkytrypod: “would love to travel from ireland with a few mates. @demgear @JamesMcDonnell ” Could be good craic yeah. We need two clubs to get some free drink out of Dan so we need to round up some more

  • Another great episode boys! If you’re looking for any UB games before we all head out to Serbia give me a shout.

  • Quote from Squirrelloid: “An off-the-wall suggestion: how do ID feel about mechanically enhancing dwarves? The Taurukh process suggests their culture doesn't particularly revere bodily integrity, so some dwarves might volunteer to replace body parts with mechanical pieces. Alternately, mechanical limbs could be replacements for those lost due to injury. Such technology is certainly within the sphere of fantasy steampunk, and we already have exoskeleton suits for weapon teams. I don't know if thi…

  • Chess Clocks in T9A

    JamesMcDonnell - - General Discussion

Well 3v3 is going to take longer naturally if everyone does their stuff individually. Also learning stuff is going to slow the process. Maybe just give it some time.

  • Chess Clocks in T9A

    JamesMcDonnell - - General Discussion

Quote from RomanRagnorak: “We were discussing this because in my group we played for 6 hours on Sunday and only got through 3 turns.... ” I don’t think a chess clock could solve each player taking an hour per turn.

  • Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Quote from JamesMcDonnell: “Quote from Peacemaker: “I'm pretty sure that if it had shoot in 4 ranks then the range would be increased. ” this makes little to no sense. Why would they shoot in 4 ranks when no other shooting weapon does this. They have essentially the same effect with the doubling of hits. ” Note that the doubling hits mechanic was added AFTER "shoot in four ranks" was rejected. As to why this unit fires in many ranks? That was precisely the rationale the…

  • Quote from Tyranno: “1- What do you think about the army organisation? Is it too restrictive? Not fun to try and come up with new builds? It is quite restrictive due to the large quantity of stuff in the bound and binders category including character mounts. 2- How flexible/restrictive are the builds for characters mounted on monsters? There are plenty options for builds however most are probably pointless or not viable in competitive builds. Other than the great bull there is little incentive t…

  • You’re correct it can only heal the units listed in the item.

  • Quote from Lagerlof: “Quote from JamesMcDonnell: “Can you binding scroll icon of the inferno? ” Check the FAQ/Errata, I think the answer is there. ” Checked errata and it’s a wording change to icon. Still unsure of the answer to my question though. Binding scroll says to select a spell the model has. Icon of the inferno doesn’t say it gives him a spell it just says the model casts the blaze attribute spell when a spell is cast within 12”. Which cannot be dispelled and the model is not a wizard. …

  • Quote from DanT: “Haha, no worries, it wasn't an attack, I was just musing on the consequences of your comments. One solution that might help both is reduced eliteness/lethality from the big mounts, and a corresponding points decrease. This makes them into more (affordable) support pieces, where medium (or bigger) blocks are required to deal with the enemies units, and the mounted characters facilitate this by performing other roles, and combo charging to finish things off... Just thinking out l…

  • Quote from DanT: “Quote from JamesMcDonnell: “I would like to see ID be weighted more heavily into the whole idea of medium sized blocks forming a steadfast battle line. Whittling away at the opponent with magic and/or shooting. The kadim and taurukh should be flanking and support units which countercharge after the block holds up the opponent. Would also like to see mounted characters become more useable. At the moment most ID lists run around with small units of Flintlocks and monsters/monstro…
