A good clarification! I did say "may" and I meant "may" - I expect the RT to look at the data and discuss possibilities for those two, I definitely don't think they're certain!

Quote from Just_Flo: “Quote: “@ACS, is there any other thing that can be done? Like adding special rules ” No positive rulechange is possible. If it would be a gamebraking, broken model, where even point rises by a lot on it and on the standard equipement would not repair it without causing big collateral damage, than it would be possible to add a negative rule. I and I belive the project does not see the Great Khan as so OP. (And all data I have seen so far supports your opinion, that it is not…

  • Quote from Comm.Mattias: “Quote from Tyranno: “ - The 4 churches (Ashuruk, Shamut, Nezibkesh and Lugar) will be more visible in the army - each will offer some variation to its prophetsuiting the theme of that church ” Hi Team, loving the updates, super keen for the new book @Tyranno + @Windelov I love the fluffy idea behind this. However rules wise, I would like to see more of a WDGs feel to these rules ie, flavour-some rules that make units play a little differently, but don't really restrict …

  • Quote from Sir_Sully: “Quote from Giladis: “Personally it doesn't match the character of the army for me. Capable even divine touched humans - yes, but still humans. Making then on par with such apocalyptic monsters would detract from the knightly theme of striving to overcome great odds. Vampires and Chosen Lords have become inhuman, Grail touched people have not - at least in the setting BGT is building. ” Can I ask some relatively key questions? I suspect that the project people will duck out…

Quote from Morgan_Treeman: “are you kidding me? Bruiser is only a core unit. They get ripped apart by 8 mercenaries, 8 minotaurs, 8 shabtis etc. Or 25 seekers with dragonseeker, 25 gnasher herd, 35 feral orc eadbahsers paired weapons or imperial guard with all the buffs, they hit on 2+, wound on 2+, hatred and battle focus and 5+ Aegis. Any good size combat unit destroys it. ” Going to be honest, pretty much nobody fielded any of those any game I've played of T9A. I've seen Minotaurs, and Seeker…

  • For starters, it means that other Swordmasters don't get the +1 to-hit against them. :p Plus, it's not that hard to get a +2 bonus/-2 malus from magic. Divination, in particularly, offers the double whammy of Distracting or +2 DS; on high DS troops, that's two spells that say "you hit me on 5's" in the same lore, which is backbreaking, especially since they stack. If I were redoing the game, I would adjust the to-hit chart - but I'd make hitting on a 3+ the default, with 2+ for being more accura…

  • Quote from Squirrelloid: “Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Elves having meaningful parallels to Haber-Bosch or Borlaug is reasonable. Not necessarily the case, but not something I'd expect the BGT to rule out out of hand, particularly if it fixed a setting hole. ” ... You might want to look up what Haber-Bosch actually entails before so blithely passing it off as something elves could be doing. Pretty sure doing that magically would violate the routine and pervasive use of magic. (And do you know how m…

  • Point of order: the goal is "every faction is realistic" not "every faction is morally upstanding". Feel free to consider factions to be evil, particularly if you decide to use the D&D alignment chart as your guide.

  • Quote from Squirrelloid: “It's not simply knowledge but the industrial products of that knowledge. It's gasoline, artificial fertilizers, and modern plant crossing techniques. Tractors and harvesters and so forth massively reduced labor. Last I checked, HbE does not have tractors. Meanwhile, there's also no Haber-Bosch process to produce abundant fertilizers, and no modern plant breeding to pull a Norman Borlaug because HbE are not 'the scientist faction'. (And no magical plant breeding or farmi…

  • Medieval food production was labour intensive. Modern farming is... different. A population that has mastered later era farming techniques has far fewer farmers per capita. 21st century earth is capable of having settlements that feed themselves via dilettante gardeners even without the most industrial aspects being applied. Knowledge is a significant agricultural force multiplier. And dat empire. When you have a highly skilled populace capable of superior crafting capability (due to age and ski…

I run OK (at 4500) with a 10 Bruiser +BSB + mage block (and I love my block), and I have trouble justifying giving those two any protection or increased damage output. Like, at first I took Trolleater and Deathcheater and it just never felt worth it. I stripped them down to an Ironfist on the Shaman and Lygur's Tongue on the BSB (and Shaman not on Shamanism) and Viper's Curse "pistols" on the BSB, and felt like that maybe went too far, but only a little too far and maybe I was just a little too …

  • Quote from Squirrelloid: “Quote from Giladis: “Quote from Squirrelloid: “saying 'these should be equivalent' ” I am not saying they should be equivalent, there are certainly differences but they are not as stark as "professional soldiers vs peasant conscripts".A HE Citizen is supposed to be a skilled combatant in what they do (do keep in mind what they do will be properly fleshed out in the HE LAB rather than comparing what is in the 2.0 HE SAB), at the same time a DE Legionnaire is supposed to …

  • Quote from Darock: “Quote from WhammeWhamme: “...They're an entire race of willowy asthmatics with superhuman reflexes... ” That sounds much more drastic then I thought the differences between elfs and humans are. Dread Judges hitting on Str. 6 is more then a giant. Or same as a Giant who tries to beat you up with a Tree... that doesn´t sound like asthmatics for me. So even if people hate me for this idea but with that in Mind all elves should drop to str. 2... 3 for Characters or Elites. To com…

  • Peacemaker, when I say I don't know I mean I really haven't been paying enough attention to know. If I know but can't say, I'll say that. And I wouldn't be certain of anything if I were you. A bunch of stuff I thought was a lock for ID has had alternatives proposed.

  • Quote from matrim: “So @WhammeWhamme What ever you've been posting on the discussions are your views only and pretty much you're trying to shoe-horn DE to your personal views. Which is good to know as you seem to forget due to your tag people take your arguments as project views but they're essentially world according to WhammeWhamme and holds no more water then any other forum lurker. @echoCTRL tagging you so that one of the DE LAB team can confirm everything WhammeWhamme says represents projec…

  • Quote from DarkSky: “Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Repeater Crossbow design might change. ” No good suggestion how right now, but if the RXB does not change you failed in my opinion. The design is frankly horrible. Completely bonkers on mobile troops, completely useless on RA. Also it won't work together with a playstyle as lined out in the guidelines. Is keeping it the way it is really an option the ADT considers? I always got the impression, this thing is going to change no matter what!? ” Tag say…

  • This has gone in circles. I'm out. Mostly. One last point: 4+ is not twice as durable as 5+ vs. AP1. 3+ is twice as durable as 6+ vs. AP1. Going from taking 5/6 of wounding hits to 4/6 of wounding hits is not doubling; it is in fact (if my brain is doing the math right, a 25% increase in durability). Relevant, but not double.

  • Quote from matrim: “WhammeWhamme I appreciate your passion, patience and engagement. However don't you think when you make those kinds of statements (with your tag) you're either misrepresenting the project or misleading the "community". ” No, because I said "this would be a reasonable metric" not "this is the metric the project uses" (to the best of my knowledge, the project doesn't actually have a metric).

  • 1) no, not official. 2) super muddied. Back to SQ: sure. If there's 4 tiers DE should probably be tier 3. As per the guidelines DE should not be bottom tier but should *definitely* not be top tier (a stronger statement). In a 4 tier system that is somewhere in tier 3. And a 4+ only vs ranged is somwhere berween a full 4+ and a 5+... and VS are not a LAB book yet so don't be surprised if VG don't stay as a quasi 4+ core unit. Most of your complaints revolve around individual pattern breaking unit…
