  • These ideas have been voiced before and are solid ideas! Peacemaker is correct, this would have more of an effect in the brainstorming forum he creates. Do you mind if I move it? I know ADT have followed both these two threads to look for different inspiration!

  • What about something simple as “6 always save” like “1 always fail”?

  • Quote from Phaeoron: “Academy Trained: -When engaged only in its front facing, the unit gains +1 Combat Resolution. If engaged in its flank or rear, it gains an additional -1 Combat Resolution instead. Helps multiple unit strategies, punishes bad plays. Thoughts? ” So my biggest beefs for mmu style of play AND glasscannon is as follows: we die as soon as a unit is steadfast/body guard/stubborn. We have to hit units and break them. This almost is impossible to accomplish through stat lines or ext…

  • Quote from lifeasalizard: “Here's a couple of random idea/musing I had about Academy units Academy Trained : Other friendly units in the same combat as this unit gain +1 ap to their attacks. Its kind of a way to show units coordinating attacks, simulating the 'set 'em up, knock 'em down' (feints, tricks, etc) way of fighting. -or- Academy Trained : Friendly units in this units rear arc may make shooting attacks against units engaged with the front of this unit as if that unit was no longer engag…

  • Hey guys, wow some great conversation happening on this thread. Lots of DEEEEEP debate and intellectually fleshed out reasoning. It’s hard in text sometimes to read tones and so I’ll point out I really mean what im saying. I, as a moderator, really dislike trying to control conversations unless they become very off topic or abusive. I don’t think either of those have happened to the extent of warranting deletion of posts etc. I will encourage 2 things. PLEASE remember that everyone on the LAB te…

  • A fair enough point! And my suggestions shouldn’t be a reflection of the state the game is in... especially since I’m the guy without any real solutions .

  • Quote from DanT: “Quote from GSbasic: “I’m in the boat that AP should be capped at +4 with the exception of alchemy lore, and toxic attacks, which should be incredible rare. Although with the current cowboys these days, high AP is just a must. ” I disagree. I think more eidolon style mechanics (armour save capped at a particular value) would be the healthiest thing for the game. Reduces RPS-ness of 1+ saves, whilst also not negating low armour values entirely. ” I would support this as well. I t…

  • How would you guys feel if the backbone of the army was core? Like in real practice? This was somewhat eluded to in the lab guidelines and I’ve been thinking about it a lot. Would you enjoy the book if we our core units were superior to other elves (not necessarily in static ways) in combat, had some really fun special rules maybe with character help, and had the largest number of favorably match ups? This would mean more specialized special units, probably more expensive but better and more In …

  • What about just having more options of adding pressure? I think this is almost stronger than armor and such. If Harpies had better cc out put (our guidelines allow this) than we could see them become wizard bunker/archer hunters. I already charge them into soft targets sometimes and they can win, but perhaps devastating charge or death trance could help? Or we could give them distracting because of “a flurry of harpies” could be hard to hit. Either way, giving us was to add pressure leaves the e…

  • Quote from Uthegen: “Quote from echoCTRL: “@Uthegen there is a feedback thread for commenting on the issues you see with the design guidelines. That is the proper place for arguments about the armour restrictions. Here we are hoping for community inspiration in making in an army that has 5+ AS Core and can handle enemy ranged attacks without just running forward headon into enemy units. You are invited to post your thoughts regarding the RT guidelines in the proper thread. Please do not pull thi…

  • But then I won’t be able to create confusion with my opponent! No these are great! I was just talking to a friend about making these sort of identifiers for KoE and other units that may have several options

  • MSU Infantry: 10-15 Cal:5-6 Monstrous Inf:3 MMU: Infantry:15-25 (I think spears are what push this) Cal: 6-10 Monstrous Inf: 3-6

  • Yes I’m going to build a full border/steps scene. I’m also looking for maybe two models that look like cultists that will be “summoning” thegateway. This was just me testing how it looks and beginning the process. I may change the swirls to be tighter or looser. I’m really new to all this so I’m going slow and testing different things out almost daily. I’m currently researching the best material to make stone steps /pillars. So far foam core is the most recommended and I may purchase a hot wire …

  • So I’m looking for some feedback... would this look better on the battlefield somewhat as is? A clear distorted gateway to another dimension or should I glue some crazy picture of fire or of the cosmos on the back to make it look like it’s going into another world? I’m leaning to more of a dimension to another world but both would look good.

  • Hey guys, if you haven’t please do the internal balance survey! It’s pinned on the dread elves forum! Thank you guys so much, our communities interaction has gotten us a lot of improvements in the past!

  • Survey about internal balance

GSbasic - - Dread Elves (DE)

    Post

Hey guys! I’ve linked a page with a list of surveys. Please take any of these surveys for the armies that you play! Remember to be as objective as possible. The DE community has probably had some of the most significant feedback success in the past due to their fair and reasonable feedback. Take a minute and fill it out, again, with as much honesty as you can! the-ninth-age.com/community/ne…MXrK4vAq64jU2_-WScawjGYy0

  • the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…11b4ef9e9e136f03abc6fe09aMy goal here is to create a fun DL army with loootsss if creative unit fillers and models I can use for other armies I have/different entries in the book (my wife says only one closet for toy soldiers). So here I thought I would document some of those ideas, and hopefully get some help along the way. I’m a pretty basic painter, because I’ve got a ton of ideas and I work for a thermo former so there are lots of interesting things at my dispo…

  • Not knowing how to use the assassin and being dissatisfied with his role are not the same thing.

  • What if the assassin ignored armor enchantments? This would solve some of his problems killing characters (they would still get their mundane armor) and it could simulate an unprepared opponent.
