  • Quote from Sir_Sully: “This worries me. That says to me that "Equitaine is a nation built on personal heroics and individual honour" (directly from the public background) but the people of Equitaine are pretty bad at personal heroics. ” Why? How is being best among the non augmented humans being bad at personal heroics? Further more why would "being good at personal heroics" automatically mean going being on equal terms with the most dangerous man sized creatures in our setting? In addition the …

  • Quote from Duke Niemar: “@Giladis Why not? ” Personally it doesn't match the character of the army for me. Capable even divine touched humans - yes, but still humans. Making then on par with such apocalyptic monsters would detract from the knightly theme of striving to overcome great odds. Vampires and Chosen Lords have become inhuman, Grail touched people have not - at least in the setting BGT is building.

  • That was never finalised even though background has a rough in world hierarchy. When it will be relevant BGT and RT will talk with the eventual KoE LAB TT. But overall Grail Knights are better than normal humans which would put then roughly on terms with Elves and Dwarves in the grand scheme of things. Definitely not among Vampires and Chosen Lords.

Quote from clorens: “why put it in horde? having monstrous infantry that hits more for less space or 20m infantry that hits the same for less space ” Because this is not a binary game. It is a complex composite system made out of variable elements and interacting in variable conditions. In other words because there are ties when it is advantageous to do so.

  • +1 to what @GSbasic said and to add @echoCTRL @WhammeWhamme @Squirrelloid please make sure when you discuss things you do not reveal background information that has not yet gone through the appropriate filter.

  • Quote from Squirrelloid: “HbE certainly has better farmers, better artists, better actors, and so forth than DE does, because they don't have something like 75%+ of their population trained for warfare and capable of serving under arms. ” I would not be so quick to make such statements. For average Joe Legionnaire when they get home from a campaign the most likely activity they will be doing is farming. Then there will artists, poets, carpenters, jewellers etc... I really do not see DE inferior …

  • Very much what @WhammeWhamme said.

Quote from Herminard: “Im not certain PW will be the best equipment for these tasks - try one with Shields and banner too? ” You are probably right. Do you mean Wild Herd Banner? I might give it a shot after I test PW for a couple of games. At the moment my thinking revolves around this list conceptually (Hidden Content) Quote from Ironrock: “Nothing hurt my eyes more with BH than bricks of Longhorns with GrtWpns. ” What do you have against Longhorn bricks?

  • Quote from Peacemaker: “which time period specifically? ” Early to mid Republic.

  • Quote from Squirrelloid: “saying 'these should be equivalent' ” I am not saying they should be equivalent, there are certainly differences but they are not as stark as "professional soldiers vs peasant conscripts". A HE Citizen is supposed to be a skilled combatant in what they do (do keep in mind what they do will be properly fleshed out in the HE LAB rather than comparing what is in the 2.0 HE SAB), at the same time a DE Legionnaire is supposed to be a skilled combatant in what they do. How ex…

My intention is to have two mid sized blocks of 24 when I switch to BH later this year. I don't think they are amazing but can be a decent unit for flank attacks, chaff removal and even face to face against other non-elite core units. Just think about it 24 of them with FC and PW cost less than 350 points, or in other words less than 175 old points for 24 T4 Health Points. In the old game that same unit with worse rules would cost you 217 pts. Now it is 20% cheaper and better. But I know I shoul…

  • I think it is more about people placing small non-weapons on units. I remember I used to play -3 to cast Talisman on my Dragon Princes champion while the unit had MR 2 banner that did damage to daemons and undead. The unit was pretty much immune to magic in 6th edition.

  • Quote from Folomo: “Could there be special weapon option for champions that are not common magic items? For example: Champion 20 pts may take Eldritch sword 30 pts Eldritch sword: +1 Av and AP(6) ” I don't see why that would be impossible considering it is conceptually not that different from the OnG Feral Orcs pig stick.

  • Quote from Grand frere: “and give 50 magic items to elite unit champions. ” I would just like to point out it is very, very, very unlikely this will see a return since it was specifically removed from the game to allow better balancing of items.

It isn't legacy. As has been mentioned a couple of times inspiration for Lion Guard are the Varangian Guard.

  • Quote from Peacemaker: “are Legionaires then historically they are slightly weaker than Hoplites. ” In the time period from which we are drawing inspirations for the DE a portion of Legionnaires were the italic equivalent of Hoplites. Even if you are taking of later Legionnaires what you say most likely wasn't true both on individual level or on a tactical level. Quote from Squirrelloid: “By background, Legionnaires are professional soldiers, something not true for many factions' core units. ” P…

  • When we get some free slots in the art schedule I'll try and get the DE Repeater Crossbow Shematic shown as part of a spoiler, that may provide some insight where the TT might take the weapon.

  • Guys your feedback has been heard, so don't get too hanged on on a line that may or may not be in the final version.

  • Because there are indications the UD overall score higher than other armies on average, but we will know for sure when Data Analyst team finishes its work.
