Quote from Hal: “Loving the empirial robes and con-conformity rat skin/fur colours. All very unique with loads of charaacter. ” Thank you! The fur it probably what I am most pleased with. It took some times but I feel that I've figured out how to paint their fur and faces to bring out the cuteness. Will keep working o bringing in more variations on those that show a lot of fur, such as the brighter chin on the Senator.

  • A small thought. Many seem to like the idea to give goblins some sort of bonus when fighting in the rear or flank, but others feel that this is wasted since getting a flank charge with a big unit of goblins is so rare. Maybe a solution could be to apply this bonus (whatever it is), to all goblins in a combat as long as long as at least one of your units is engaged in the flank or rear. So if you charge your raiders into the flank and your bus into the front, both get the bonus. The reasoning bei…

Finally! It took way too long, but I've finally managed to complete some models for this army. I had to figure out how to do their bases and shields, but now I feel happy about that. The shields I painted up while recording my latest episode of Paint Desk Ramblings, which you can check out here: youtu.be/-W-PJTzel5k Sadly, I only had stands for 8 out of 10 shields, so two of the rats were left out, but here is the rest of the gang, all finished up: nDEXGytjildHHfW253TCbU10meWy_OXDvj30EMBDkF3o5a3…

Quote from Laurfelt: “I was thinking that miliput would maybe be easier to work with, but have never tried it. It looks like it's softer and therefore easier to shape. Have you tried it? ” It is softer, but generally I find it too be a worse clay than green stuff and usually just use it for large areas when details are not that important since it is cheaper. I have seen people sculpt banner details with it though, so maybe it could be useful for you.

Quote from Laurfelt: “Well, for starters I'm not sure green stuff (or the grey stuff I use at the moment) is the best putty. And also, the way I do it might not be optimal. Let me try to explain: First I try to apply some grey stuff to the area where I want the trim. I then flatten it out to the thickness I want. This is usually quite tricky since I can't always see how thick the layer is. I then let it cure a little so I can use an exacto knife to cut away unnecessary putty and shape the trim. …

Quote from Laurfelt: “ These guys also still need a lot of work in the form of greenstuffing. The idea is to give them more chaosy armor trim. I have a feeling that the way I do it is a lot harder than it has to be...maybe there's a better putty than greenstuff? ” What exactly about the green stuff is it that you doubt? When sculpting things with sharp corners such as armour, many prefer to use brown stuff rather than green stuff.

Quote from WoeRie: “Thanks, not totally wrong... but somehow I have the feeling it looks too funny for a Greater Demon. But maybe it will look different in a different color scheme. ” It could do with a head swap I think. The body and neck I think fit perfectly with its description, but the face is a bit comical.

Quote from WoeRie: “ 2) Deceiver WITHOUT fly: I found a nice model with wings. But still nothing that fits for an unwinged model. At the moment I'm using an old Nurgle Herald, but I'm not happy with it. Have you found a nice model that fits on a 25x25mm base without troubles, but still looks impressive enough to represent a Geater Demon? ” This would be my pick for a Deceiver: Quote from Mad 'At: “Found this. Another mini joins the ranks, presenting Borkork, the Imperial Ranger: 26630-c1336b96-large.jpg This brings my unit up to a playable five, which is nice. Not so nice is that my Matte Varnish forgot about about that first part of its name, so the poor guy got an unhealthy shine. I'll see if I can get my hand on some new varnish and sort that out. After that there is just one more EoS mini I want to paint before taking some group shots.

  • Hi I guess I'm joining the fight, with my latest paint job. Borkork, the Imperial Ranger: 26630-c1336b96-large.jpg I swear, he is fighting for the glory of Sunna... and a little for himself... well, mostly for himself. But the important part is that he is fighting the good fight.

Nice work on those classic minis! I'd say the guy on the right in the first image would make a perfect Deceiver rather than a Herald.

I like it! Will probably back it to get myself 2 of each set. Though I feel a bit worried you won't make your goal. I think some people, like me, will be interested in getting a few sets, but I doubt there will be any big backers. Maybe some stretch goals, early bird stuff or additional sets could be an idea? I know I would be interested in getting my hands on some Rotary Gun bitz. A Dread Mill would also be awesome, but that is perhaps dreaming a bit too big. Best of luck anyway!

  • Interesting. I happen to collect VC, and recently started both EoS and VS. I will be looking into this and hopefully join up once I get back from vacation.

Hello! Time for my 4th painting blog on this site, this time for the Vermin Swarm! My last blog, the Empire of Sonnstahl Blog, was started off with a pun, so I guess I'll turn that into a tradition. "I came By saw and conquered" YoXwdME.jpg For this army, I decided to go modern and got myself some magnetic bases from movementtray.com This also meant I could put them on a metal surface and use as a handle when spray painting the miniatures, hence the old saw. The miniatures are from the @Dragoncl…
