  • Quote from tunasandwichify: “Anybody got any good Envy Chosen models? Converted or just from a specific company? I made this guy originally for a community painting project and it kinda fell through But he's my "Chosen of Envy" (Hidden Content) ” Praetorian Keltarii and Swordsmen from privateer press. I have swordsmen. Should have built them with halberds. Just paint the armour green to match the colors of envy. 74078_PraetorianKeltarii_WEB.jpg 74078_PraetorianSwordsmen_WEB.jpg

One box give enough men for two units and some extra huskarls from the command sprue. Their pricing when compared to the quality of their models is the best on the market. I have some of their armored gallic infantry with viking heads and shields in my latest huskarl unit and their kits mix really well. This makes building fantasy themed viking army from their kits really easy as the look isn't tied to certain time period.

Latest release from Victrix Games I'd use these as berserkers with spears. Could be used as is or modified with surplus parts from their viking sprues. GERMANIC_WARRIORS_1.jpg Victrix_Ancient_German_Pair_1.jpg

  • I've bought this model to be used as colossus. MT16012.JPG It's 1/16 scale so it's quitr big and the price is low too. ~12£ You can get it from here for example. (Hidden Content) Mierce Miniatures has also this available. mrm_dkl_atl_ils_wen_501_000_01_large.png

  • I eyed few pages back and didn't see this Kickstarter mentioned. These models might interest KOE players. The Barons' War - 28mm Medieval Miniatures 19a628a37367fb2b750ed6c1ac1cd89d_original.jpg

I know you wanted bigger than real scale but I'd still recommend these from warlord. You could put two on one base so that they don't look so lonely on the base. I have 20 of these waiting to be painted. shop wgh-ab-23-mastiff-pack-a_f088329a-af5d-4168-af5d-3f5c906b2e45.jpeg

Used that contrast white on strormtroopers and did some drybrushing with vallejo white grey airbrush paint. Death troopers I painted with army painter silver at first and did few layers with their dark quickshade wash.

Yes those squad markings are unorthodox but the idea of stormtroopers running around without anything to differentiate them just feels daft to me.

  • First Asklanders battle and Berserkers

    Post

That's a good call. I've missed the two handed part altogether and thought about great weapons only.

  • It's been out a while. I think it was at the start of the summer when the book was updated and battle fever is now this: Quote from Åskland Book: “Åsklander Battle Fever Infantry models in units with at least 10 models gain either: • Fight in Extra Rank if using a Close Combat Weapon with Two-Handed • +1 Armour if using a Shield This cannot be used while the model’s unit is engaged in its Flank or Rear Facing. ”

  • It's been a bit hit and miss for me so far. Maybe ambushing huscarls would be better with throwing weapons. I've seen people praise their effectiveness in ambush. Huscarls with throwing weapons are quite effective without ambush too. If you can walk close enough to throw your opponent with them and then stand and shoot. Huscarls with spears and jarl do good damage in combat.

  • I ambushed them in my last game and ran them to KOE peasant horde. While I did good amount of damage with them but the incoming attacks almost melted my whole unit. Used great weapons. I'd say against big hordes they won't do that well but they'll stay in place turn or two. Elves in general aren't very good match for berserkes as elves have higher agility and berserkers need to go first. They're good against high armoured units with great weapons. One thing to remember is the Åskland battlefever…
