Quote from Little Joe: “vmrKhTI.jpg The rocks were a lot of work but quite well show how you have quite a level of control. I tried to vary them as much as possible. Which worked but for where Dhuraz is kneeling. There I needed hard edges on the rocks to make the legs stand out more. Now doing this was probably way too much work, but since this is for fun ... ” Wow, that's very impressive! Are you really doing all that using hard modeling? Not sure but I feel it would be much easier to do the dw…

  • Quote from 20phoenix: “The next contrast assisted model in my collection: GIhlIPc.jpg Skeleton Horde for the bones, Black Templar for the skin and Fleshtearers Red for the muscles and internals. Drybrushed over with Tyrant Skull and Administratum Grey. ” Looking great! I just wish you guys stop buying all the black and white contrasts, still don't have them due to being out of stock for months

  • Hello fellow contrast adepts Here is a project of mine where I used a lot of contrast paint: the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…fbf9b7506d8438878df42d5f4the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…fbf9b7506d8438878df42d5f4the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…fbf9b7506d8438878df42d5f4 Primer: brown with zenital white Wood: Cygor Brown with some highlights. Cygor Brown makes a very dark wood. Stone: Basilicanum Grey with layering Ropes: Nazdreg Yellow with drybrushing. Really good for ropes and similar. The green smoke:…

  • My contribution for unpredictable threats Thanks for giving me the motivation to finally build and paint this model (it was a bit intimidating). the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…fbf9b7506d8438878df42d5f4

  • Here is my contribution! Sorry it took so much time, I'm a very slow painter How many points does this provide? I sure hope it doesn't count as one (LOTR ref). the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…fbf9b7506d8438878df42d5f4 the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…fbf9b7506d8438878df42d5f4the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…fbf9b7506d8438878df42d5f4the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…fbf9b7506d8438878df42d5f4

I'm now seriously considering buying that Anycubic Photon, not too worried about the toxicity, handling plenty of toxic stuff for the hobby anyway. There is a new model, the Photon S, more expensive, not really sure if it is really better.

  • Quote from Midgaardsormen: “I really wish there were some cataphact models that weren't wierd beetles or other nonsensical crap, but something that fit the UD lore. ” If I'm not mistaken Cataphracts were heavy armored cavalry, and I don't think Ancient Egyptians has those, so I don't really see how we can have realistic UD calvalry cataphracts (based on ancient Egypt) without them being some kind of giant constructs/monsters.

    The bad Alien prequel

  • Looks like bony tyranids, not sure to understand the concept, would need some lore. I'm getting Prometheus/Alien vibes, especially the first model.

  • Quote from Eldan: “The Vermin Swarm, by a considerable margin. ” Let them think they win, they don't know what's going on underground.

Quote from Yatagarasu: “When a new player finishes painting one model and celebrates because he’s done: the-ninth-age.com/community/in…fbf9b7506d8438878df42d5f4 ” a boy showed my his model: - It's ugly isn'it it? me: well... yes indeed I later understood he was proud because he thought his paintjob was making the model look ugly, in a good way. Oopsie.

  • I don't understand the style of the Shapti archers. They are giant roman statues with bone bows?

Wow, that's impressive hard modeling, above my skill level for sure, I still don't know how you made the wrapping, I would be interested to know I'm confused, are you trying to merge all different pieces together with a boolean operation? When doing my models I had tons of different pieces, never merged anything and it printed just fine. To paint your models, you need to UV unwrap them to give them texture coordinates, but it will be a lot of work with so many triangles, or you can vertex paint …
