  • Quote from Remy77077: “(again, sorry for the de-rail, but a unit with 3x Gits is quite confusing for me as someone new to the full rules!) 1. What minis do you use? I've never seen any IRL yet... Mantic Sneak looks nice though, but seems to be only available in a box set for KoW Vanguard as of yet... the-ninth-age.com/community/le…518-miniatures-shady-git/ I use the old GW nasty skulkers. Have like... 12 of them. But you can use GW gnoblars/grots in a pinch, as well. 3. Why wouldn't the opponent…

  • You got it! The idea is to get a couple of good volleys in and then reform, if needed. Truthfully, I've kept them 10 or 8 wide before and just taken a charge if the math kind of works out (parry is a hell of a drug). Otherwise, 5 wide, enjoy mucking through 50~ wounds with parry. The gits are there for a few reasons: 1. I love the minis 2. Their bizarre ability to have an every-now-and-then over performance of lethal strikes has been 100% hilarious in the past. 3. Once a player loses 3 or 4 knig…

  • Quote from Remy77077: “Quote from SkargitCrookfang: “I frequently use 47 common gobbos with shields, bows, three gits and a mus. Start 10 wide, reform when needed and hold up whatever for quite some time. Usually, my army core is based around two of these units. ” I wondered why you don't include a Champion or Banner btw? ” No real need. They aren't meant to win combats, just to hold and allow my gnashers, trolls or Aroks to mash them from the flank or, sometimes, rear. Saves 80 points.

  • Quote from Idum: “Beast Lord on razortusk chariot is a solid choice as well. For the soothsayer 1 or 2 (master/adept) works well, personnally I like master shaman + adept Evo. The latter helps with rerolls (to wound for wildhorns/mongrels, to hit for razors) or even sniping characters and helping with the tokens. Core, a big unit of mongrels + 2x 15 wildhorns; in special 5 gargoyles, one or two units of minos, one or two lone razortusk and in terrors a gortach or two. Briar beasts & jabberwock a…

  • Wow, the idea of the twin Gortachs and the vanguarding Giant feel right up my alley. I had actually completely forgotten the beast giants COULD vanguard. Excellent! EDIT- Question, why the shields on the Minos? For parry?

  • Hey folks, Digging through my hobby closet, I have found an insane amount of built/unbuilt/questionable BH minis etc. I'd love to hear from you, the BH faithful, about a few things if anyone has a moment. 1) What kind of play-styles are working well for you? 2) What units are you finding to be must-haves? What about "hell-no"s? 3) For path magic - what path are you using? Why? How many wizards? Basically, anything you can provide - I'd love to hear some thoughts on this. Cheers, The Fang

  • depends on what role you want it for. The HH load out with the flask and/or dragon staff is a front line menace. Supports charges super well. The GW only is more of a flanker- doesn't have quite the volume but the extra s6ap3 and cheaper totals make it really effective against what itll generally see. Both philosophies are great- just depends on what role you prefer.

  • A few comments in RED... ANGER.... kidding. Quote from arwaker: “Not the place to discuss general design guidelines here, just accept them if you want to have a chance to contribute. Let's sum it up shortly: (a) Goblin Raiders don't need an option to become non-light cavalry. It is merely wasted design space, rather use the space (or slot for magic item) for something more important. It would not be used often enough to justify its existence. Are we sure about that? There are loads of wolf rider…

  • this thread is super active. Which is great.... am i getting my common gobbos with halberds yet? No? Let me know when that's a thing.

  • i use one with a great weapon to work in tandem with my unit of iron orc flankers. Not the general, no crazy loadouts. I almost view it as a single model superheavy cav unit. Works great.

  • Quote from sgu97bjd: “Do you ever lose the bus? ” Only happened once. ... because I decided to flank charge some Knights of the Sun Griffon for pure hilarity. But, if I'm actually playing for a win and not just farting around, never. For pure fun, I'm also considering doing something like this at some point in the future: --- Characters --- 255 - Common Goblin King, Wolf, a Bow (3+), Heavy Armour, Paired Weapons, Hero's Heart (60), Dragon Staff (30) 355 - Common Goblin King, General, Wolf, a Bow…

  • Quote from Remy77077: “Quote from SkargitCrookfang: “A depleted unit of realms with a might lord and some grails front charged my big gobbo block...and whiffed. Parry is wonderful. Held, trolls in the flank. ” Interesting report to read Is there a full batrep going up too? Just one point about the above, your big gobbo block has Spears right, in which case I didn't think you could use Parry. Which is a big part of the reason why Spears are so badly costed on Goblins ” Using Bows, Sword and Board…

  • Quote from Remy77077: “Quote from Pellegrim: “Quote from SkargitCrookfang: “The wolf bus did it's job as always ” What wolfbus, what wolfbus?! ” I'm sure @SkargitCrookfang will give us the exact answer... But from reading his list and reports, I'm pretty sure at least 2 Goblin characters on Wolves join this unit: 195 - 10x Common Goblin Raiders, Shield (10) So those, plus King on Wolf, BSB on Wolf, and maybe 1 of the Witchdoctors on Wolf too, a bit of a bus! ” Bingo. King, BSB and Master. Someti…

  • yeeeeeep. My goblins did what they do...again. Beat a KoE army pretty handily. Gnashers roared up the left flank, ended up getting ravens wing'd on turn 1 and 2 to be in the backfield threatening cascading flank charges into a hell of a lot of knights. The IOs and the a rok held steady on the right and eventually got into it with a big block of peasant crusaders. Didn't go well for the crusaders. A depleted unit of realms with a might lord and some grails front charged my big gobbo block...and w…

  • I haven't seen too much reason to use it for the vanguard, to be honest. I have my gobbo mind trust in a unit of wolves, anyways (King, BSB, Master, Adept) and they just run around, hide behind things (rocks, trolls, whatever) and give bubbles while annoying the ever-loving-hell out of my opponent. All that said... maybe there's a one-trick-pony build or two our there. King- Crown A bunch of cave goblins with banner of the relentless co. Three gits. ... profit?

  • for the spears... mainly minis, gits and the screen name. Lol. Forest spears are better... but...eh... I'm a sucker for common gobbos. The dashers have been acting as a reaction unit lately. Hide behind either IOs or gnashers and dart out (over?) for a flank or combo charge. They're.... finicky. But work great when it works... Also the game is tomorow night. Not tonight. Sadly. But @Gaius Marius stated he's batrepping this one... no pressure or anything

  • Not pure Gobbo, but what I'm running tonight: --- Characters --- 350 - Common Goblin King, General, Wolf, Crown of Autocracy (70), Crown of the Cavern King (90), Must take War Cry! 220 - Common Goblin Chief, Wolf, Battle Standard Bearer, Talisman of the Void (50), 210 - Common Goblin Witch Doctor, Wolf, Wizard Adept, Witchcraft 380 - Master Common Goblin Witch Doctor, Wolf, Thaumaturgy 560 - Forest Goblin King, Gargantula, Great Weapon --- Core --- 180 - 20x Cave Goblins, Nets (20), Shield (20),…
