  • Quote from Firthunands91: “Well, recently I got around 10 games with SE, and I'm really pleased with them. I don't know if anyone will care about my opinion but these are my experiences and thoughts. ” On the contrary, direct gameplay experience like this is exactly the kind we most need to hear. Thank you for providing your experience.

  • Quote from Chack: “Quote from Hachiman Taro: “FG Kindred +1 Discipline would be nice in a revised book environment, and give him an interesting niche, now that Army strengths and weaknesses aren't so literal anymore. And / or the option of vanguard and +1 Adv ... but for now we're stuck to potential price changes. ” Or enable 1 unit of FG to be upgraded to special with +1Di,Bodyguard(Forest guard characters),+1 Str,+1Ap.+1DefI would really like an elitè forest guard unit (not necessarily with th…

  • And it synergises (stacks) very well with the Hereditary. Forest Guard suffered a fair bit as a blocking unit when we lost the Banner of Amryl (extra Fight in Extra ranks was great on them), Hunters Honour went up in price so it doesn't sit so comfortably on a Chief who wants some defensive kit (ie, a Forest Guardian who wants magic armour rather than a Blade Dancer who doesn't), and also Forest Guardian lost a point of Armour in one of the updates without dropping points in recompense. Hence wh…

  • I'm.not sure if 0 uses from X00 lists is technically data, but it can be powerful information

  • We've asked for light troops on Unicorn A LOT haha

  • While I agree about a lot of this feedback, I think it's important to keep expectations in check. Getting a data based process where the fact these things are largely unused gets recognised is a big initial step. If the reductions are conservative to start its not what we would ideally hope but it is a start in the right direction. I have argued for larger special item reductions internally but they are unlikely to suddenly change by orders of magnitude from 5pts-ish, if at all. Also, I just stu…

  • Just a little bump. RT would like to have a summary report of community feedback on Tuesday. So if you have something to say, preferably based in play experience from the new beta changes, now is the time

  • Hello there leaf stalkers! As you may know, SE (along with other forest hating factions) recently received a Beta points update for some units. It's been out in the wild for a few weeks now, chance for many of us to get some games in, maybe even a tournament! We had a thread for initial community impressions, but now we would like to hear peoples experiences after having put the updated entries on the table and tried them out a bit more. What new combos have you found? What worked better, what d…

  • To me I think the starting point should be to define general playstyles in which each entry in the book (or suggested addition) fits into. For example: Oak and Thorn: Tree units provide a grindy anvil to fix enemy units in place while mobile aggressive units pressure, flank and eliminate light or ground down enemies. Arrow and Thorn: Mobile shooting elements remove chaff and weaken the enemy to allow fast aggressive elements to muticharge and eliminate them. Tree Grind: Heavy tree based core sat…

  • If Essence of free mind doesnt get properly adjusted the option of choosing on deployment a snipe abillity specifically targetting pyro mages would be nice [Edit] yes that's a joke!

  • Quote from Just_Flo: “Quote from Hachiman Taro: “It's all pretty complex and hard to intuitively weigh as a whole. Another thing to consider regarding sample size is the skill floor and cap of an event. For example if we were looking the best way to kick a ball the world cup might be an equally small sample to the local little league, but it's also the source of much better information. Including the little league together with the world cup data could make your conclusions worse. From this poin…

  • Having them be great and reasonably costed, but only being able to take few of them (as would seem reasonable for loner ultra elite wilderness scouts) so they can't be spammed would be another possible solution, hence suggested. If people have better ideas, very open to putting them forward

  • Quote from Shako: “Quote from Hachiman Taro: “Nice work. One of the good things about using ETC lists for a sanity check is that (not only is it fairly objective) it shows changes that actually have an effect. It's not perfect in a lot of ways but it's pretty good compared to a lot of alternatives, especially in an iterative approach (which seems best). Well done everyone. Be nice to be acknowledged for the SE data I collected and presented thats included tho ” You're right, I'm sorry. Instead o…

  • Quote from Fleshbeast: “Re Pathfinders: I am not convinced we’ll get a good outcome trying to swap a price drop for further restrictions eg 0-2. I would be wanting to drop to 175/40 or lower if we were to put a 0-2 in place and I just don’t see that happening. In addition, I’m not yet wholly convinced it’s a good idea. Dropping the price to this level would remove one of the Pathfinders key roles at the moment of points-denial. They simply don’t have enough decent targets to get their points bac…

  • One other note. In the OP it says the figures do not include changes from generic items in the Arcane Compendium. I think the table included of the SE ones I collected do though. I think we should include them, because the generic items that changed probably won't be distributed between factions evenly (eg Titanic Might is very common in SE lists but may not be in others). This is especially so if we're going to look at figures and compare them to tiers we've roughly put them in. Should at least…

  • Could we keep this thread clean for Beta feedback please

  • Quote from Yann l elfe: “@Hachiman That's perfectly what I wanted to read, thanks for the clarification. I would suggest to put it on the first page of this thread ! Then coming back on my initial feedback on WH key facts : - the game has always rewarded better resilience especially from 8th edition when wiping out the first rank does not mean anymore no strike back - The players especially in competitive environment will look at the most competitive entries which mean most of the time the most …
