  • You've misunderstood. Ambushers turn up at the end of Step 2 of the Movement Phase. Moving units is Step 3, so they appear before units are moved. You're then free to move the Ambushing unit (with a few restrictions like no marching for example). However you do count as moving whether you move them or not, so incur penalties to hit for moving and shooting if you attempt to shoot with models in the unit.
