  • If you think we're going to put anything out on New Year's EVe, you have no idea how much we like to party.

  • Quote from XaireTharisae: “Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Quote from XaireTharisae: “I'm sure a lots of people asking this question... but do we have a estimate release date? ” 2020. The book is playable as a very rough alpha as of this past week. Since we want more than, like, a week of playtesting it will not release this year even if the art and background team had every single story and picture done right this second (as it's easily two weeks worth of work for the layout guys to turn a completely…

  • Quote from Traumdieb: “Just out of curioaity is the second new unit the Lamassu. I would like to get prepared to build something in advance. Allready bought a pretty mage as hobgoblin mage. Hope he is still coming. ” Lammasu is an existing model. I would not personally count it as a new unit. You might be more inclined to take it though! And yeah I guess we sorta added more than two units actually. You're welcome?

  • The LAB team has designed two new units.

  • Quote from DarkSky: “Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Quote from DarkSky: “For me calling them "Cloaks" sounds very good. Maybe it really is a French thing @Ghiznuk? I agree with @Phaeoron that this is one of the better names in the army book. It's something that works internally (i.e. how the Daeb would call them themselves) and externally (i.e. how enemies on the battlefield would call them). Compare to an outright silly name like Dark Acolytes. Nobody would call them that way. The Daeb wouldn't name…

  • There IS an OOC timeline, and the Sage might be able to answer some questions, but... consider this: IRL, the actual birth of Christ was probably within 10 years of so of "the year dot". And that's for a single discrete event. "How long X ruled Area Y" is actually subjective; do you count the point at which they lost (major battle X) as the end? What do you count as the beginning? Seriously: "How long did the Roman Empire control Italy?"

  • I like that idea, but it does kinda violate the official promise of no rules-changes outside LABs. And I like the project keeping it's word. Like, that's the bind: the project promised a rules freeze. Adding unofficial stuff (bending but not breaking the promise) won't make the hyper-competitive Spaniards happy. Not a lot of solutions to that.

  • Quote from Villon: “I personally don blame any of you or the staff. I just point the fact that ETC players say that the list are the same last years in a competitive level. So they ask if it's possible to make some changes to make the meta move and be more interesting. ofcourse they can try another games, but that's not the point, you can write fluff for infinity, GoT or another game too, and we don't want that! ETC can try new maps? yes. New magic flux? probably. why they don't use it? i don't …

  • Quote from Shinymetallass: “Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Quote from Shinymetallass: “ ” For the record: "adding new units" is already a possibility for the LABs, and to the best of my knowledge, people are already printing out hard copies of the one fully finished LAB. ” i didnt see anyone new unit in DL or WotDG books. Just new rules for old models which are easy recognizable ” I can't really speak to how they went. I'd suspect they had too many units to squeeze in to make anything new. The ID LAB…

  • Quote from Shinymetallass: “GW has announced Old World. I wish it would be clever balanced game about r&f boxes. But im sure it will be enother simle skirmish game for everyone. And every next model will be OP. So now we have excelent core rules, well balanced common artefacts and spells and ... borring and unbalanced armybooks. My vision of opportunity to fix it on SA example: 1. Untill some units get new sprcial rules and stats AB will borring. Just becouse SA (and mb RoE) has a minimum number…

Quote from Ctuchik: “I wonder if Raven Cloaks would be broken with scoring. They kind of feel like a commando style unit, go in, grab an objective, get out. Is there any precedent for a scout, light troop, scoring unit? ” No, but Ambush Scoring is a thing. Which leads me to "Ambush, Strider, Scoring" as their design. Which seems like a cool idea actually.

  • Nobody knows.

  • Quote from clorens: “that's what scares me the most, that the appearance of the classic units is completely changed until the spirit of the army is completely unrecognizable ” WDG and DL have been released. If a similar treatment for the other 14 books would scare you, be very afraid, because that's what going to happen, even if it does drive away the entire player base. Otherwise be chill and wait, because that's about all you can do.

  • Quote from clorens: “and why a survey is not done on whether the community wants the backgrounds next to the lab or prefers to be left for later and focus efforts on advancing the labs and matter fixed? ” Because that isn't the choice. The choice would be between "slow and with background", or "slow and without background". There is no way to "focus more effort" and write books faster and to the same standards of rules rigour. I mean jeez. GW just said today "we're going to be doing something wi…

  • Eldan? Apply. Now. There's never been "now recruiting BGT members, Our Standards Are Low!" sign out, but it's never been closed to the right person volunteering.

  • The Balancing Team was dissolved and their functions (and membership) rolled into LAB teams and the RT.

  • Quote from Malda: “ it cannot be that, when you are among the best players in the world and want to help out, that you cannot, unless you have some art/layout skills and apply for such work and do it for a year first... ” There are certainly places the project could use your expertise - the External Experts panel can use it, the playtesting teams could use some manpower, especially top-level-tournament-player manpower, to give good feedback. BUT. The question was "what can I do to speed up produ…

  • Quote from Zorin: “Quote from Ghiznuk: “Quote from Zorin: “my primary army, SA, have gone from enigmatic defenders of the world to decadent former tyrants. No, that is not what my army is to me and as a result I lost all interest to new fluff. ” Seriously ?? Maybe you didn't read their fluff in the NS16. Also read the fluff about the Cuatls in NS17 (answers by the Sage) – mysterious, isn't it ?They are still what they were. Except they were given a darker twist. Because in a wargame, we need eve…
