  • Cover Design [Image heavy]

    Grahf - - General Discussion

    Post

That's a interesting while potentially very deep topic. At first sight I'd say that majority of Fantasy games' tone aim to the funky spectrum: cluttered negative space usage, loud fonts, all very vibrant and cartoonish. I think the actual cover design worked a little better with precedent logotype - even if I prefer the new one. I suppose because the old one seems to me more consistent to the rest.

Quote from Calisson: “Quote from Grahf: “Is there a gentle soul that can do a recap for me? A company called Games Workshop is going to release teasing the community about square bases and a game called "Old World" that has some similarities to T9A Warhammer, which could be inspired from what it was before being blown up by same company - but don't expect anything for two or three years because they haven't really started yet, they just want to see the reaction to their teasing. ” Corrected for …

I wanted to see what all the fuzz was about, but I'm actually quite short of time right now. Is there a gentle soul that can do a recap for me? A company called Games Workshop is going to release a game called "Old World" that has some similarities to T9A? Am I right? Someone said "competition is the law of the jungle, but cooperation is the law of civilisation", well I guess we're going to find out if we are a mutual benefit community or just a bunch of paper tigers P.S. As always I am speaking…

  • Please, reduce game's duration. Uproot every single "the devil is in the detail" rule or gimmicky mechanic. Make it depth, not complicate. Keep rules-consulting time way lower than now. I'd like to learn to play this game. But right now if I don't commit myself to a 4 hours game (standard 4500), and at the end of it still have the mental toughness to learn from my mistakes, I practically learn close to zero. Reduced playing time means you can actually learn something even if you are not someone …

Quote from Wesser: “GW license T9A as its new flagship product. You heard it here first ” There is an account on twitter, like... spaghetti flies or pester of lies... something like that. You can find an elaborate plan for brand acquisition, seems like Warhammer is going to produce edible miniature for little ones, maybe these things are connected. IIRC a joint venture with George Weston, sorry I don't remember exactly for I am not very much interested.

  • 1. the customer purchases a product 2. the user uses a product Quote from piteglio: “Quote from Grahf: “No, it's like saying you're a T9A's costumer. Maybe you can act like one, still you're a (end)user. I think this nuance is the root of a lot of misunderstandings. ” i haven't understood this bit, but it sounds interesting. can you elaborate? ” Like another post: - People usually program for Open Source at their own term, for themselves - In Open Source programming there is no customer just a u…

  • Quote from Mercenary Armies: “Quote from IoRi78: “Quote from Mercenary Armies: “In Italian is Pigrizia, that is different from Apathy. ” in italian is accidia, which is exactly what sloth means. And GW bg have rare case in which was better, but generally, especially in the last years of 8th edition, was very bland, childish and generic. You have to separate Black Library from common gw bg in army books, and you can not paragon Black Library work with T9A. Is a total different scale (and paid too,…

  • Translations of 2000/3000+ hours (lost count really, it could be more) are needed in order to comprehend this set and play the crunch correctly, otherwise you end up with your misconceptions @Mercenary Armies the-ninth-age.com/community/in…8a5af1b12bbda63d23589a1b4 EDIT: Another thing, try to find an error in the 500+ pages of the Italian translation, even misspelling ones. Gather ten and come back, I'll offer you a dinner, and remember this is a two person job sorry for the OT

  • the-ninth-age.com/community/fi…public-community-support/ 4 nuove fazioni in italiano Senza @chico1008 questo aggiornamento non sarebbe stato possibile. Grazie!

  • @Mewt wrote a nice in-depth analysis. Sometimes I can agree with somebody's opinion at 99%, nonetheless the 1% I don't agree with is a nuance that could change dramatically the whole picture. 1. Yes, some tasks require a very specific kind of people to be completed 2. Yes, volume > perfection. Especially at early stages But as a software engineer you surely know Open Source programmers/experience. So, - People usually program for Open Source at their own term, for themselves - There is no custom…

  • Game = crunch + fluff. Without fluff you get a soulless clone of another game, and that is why in the linked video T9A's faction are called with another name: because T9A's identity is not completely fleshed out. Without fluff and art I wouldn't be here. I have 0 interest in a "Swedish comp - part 2", if you know what I mean. I have interest in keeping this game at its current level or higher, if possible - I'm talking about books' design, art, and fluff. I want T9A to be Scribus' biggest projec…

  • Quote from Pellegrim: “Quote from Grahf: “Can you elaborate, please? Thanks. ” First let me start: huge biggies for all who volunteer and produce 9th Age material. Second: let's also not forget they hold a monopoly over how the game evolves; the ones ultimately responsible are not choses or selected by the players. Thus carefull wieghing of options is of great importance. On the CtA. This was the first stand-alone piece of fluff (longer then a paragraph). Antipation was huge. The fans are on ter…

  • Quote from Marcos24: “I feel like a “new/redesigned” armybook, with such significant changes at the same levels of the current LAB, without art and background stories would ruin the potential excitement and enthusiasm towards that book. New rules and names that would not be explained would just confuse people and cause a flood of questions by players on the forum for the background team. Then by the time the art and writing catches up to each book, the excitement would still be at far less poten…

  • Try to flip through the 4 LABs, Circling the Abyss, etc. and mellow out. These books are awe-inspiring, especially compared to the resources available. If you focus only on the rules you'll miss all the rest and that's a real pity. If you only focus on the rules you won't see all that has been achieved and can be enjoyed in a non competitive-centric view. If you still don't care about Art and Background after watching Lucas Svedberg's, Alberto Bontempi's, Marcos Barragan's, Ollie Cuthbo's, Grég…
