  • Quote from piteglio: “HdM, since im reaping very little success with the promotion of my own T9A videogame (half a dozen like, and that's on the T9A forum, which should be interested or at least curious!), could you please share a word of wisdom on how to do effective promotion? : ) ” Maybe... I'm not even sure I'm all that good at promotion. But it's always fun to talk about so feel free to hit me up in PMs Quote from JimMorr: “ But... do you really believe future of wargaming is 300 small comp…

  • @JimMorr I mean, it depends entirely on what kind of game you'd want to make. If you want to make a complex game featuring dozens of models on each side in different formations, with different abilities and stats, something akin to T9A and then also include over a dozen factions all balanced for competetive tournament play right from the get-go of your game's launch, then that's obviously a much larger undertaking, not to mention all the models and artwork etc that goes into making that kind of …

  • Quote from JimMorr: “I believe you mistake miniatures for products. IMO miniatures are not products, they are only co-sales to the main product which is a game. Without Warhammer, GoT, Hail Ceasar, AD&D and 100 others there would be no miniature market. ” You'd have to bend the definition of product quite a bit to say that miniatures are not products... but I get your point. Thing is though, the lion share of profit comes from selling miniatures, not rulebooks. So even though people purchase mod…

  • Quote from piteglio: “@Hombre de Mundo - yes, i also think the future is much more digital and individual. but as in john doc's case before, the problem always lies in recognising that you are at the forefront of change. other people, many other people, see what you talk about as science fiction. i kid you not - this very week, on a national forum, i saw a guy complaining that he couldnt enroll to a local tournament because he didnt have paypal, since he doesnt have a credit card. some people we…

  • So I might be slightly controversial here but it's my honest opinion: Spending energy on getting hobby stores to promote the game by releasing officially branded T9A models or anything like that is foolish. The days of going to a hobby shop to pick up models are at their end. The technology is at a point where small businesses can create awesome models, reach global audiences through the internet, eliminating the need for a store, offering great, fresh products at a more reasonable price. Also, …

  • Quote from infamousme: “I dont get the whole "store wont support t9a because T9A doesnt have a product to sell." Every miniature in their store is a prospective 9th age model. ” Yup! I've picked up models from various ranges for my T9A projects, just like I'm sure many other people have. In fact, one of the most exciting things for me about going to hobby stores abroad is perhaps finding some obscure range I've never seen before and they just might have models that'd fit. @john doc I think your …

  • Quote from Casp: “ @Hombre de Mundo if you arent busy, maybe could you help on this ? ” I'll be crazy busy until the end of February when our game releases and then I'll want some time off so not a good time for me atm. But I think it's a good idea that we should do!

  • Quote from Eldan: “I still think we lost too much by getting rid of templates. Accidentally hitting your own units by badly scattering, for one. Hitting a different unit than intended. Hitting two units at once. ” I think we can bring that back without resorting to templates. What people have pointed out as a problem is mainly the contention that comes with templates. However, I believe you could simulate these situations in other ways. On the top of my head: 1) Rolling to hit. Hit = unit hit, n…

We have to remember as well that almost all of the classic fantasy creatures were originally folklore or myths. Elves and Goblins were commonly believed to inhabit the woods, just like giants, dragons and vampires. And while certain popular iterations of those creatures have been more popular than others, it's really unfair (and pointless) to say "this guy with goblins in his book stole from this guy with goblins in his book".

  • Quote from Remy77077: “ I don't currently have any good way to transport my models as that's a totally new venture for me, but I'm working on that. ” I got pretty creative with this and upgraded transporting methods multiple times before settling on magnetisation which I highly recommend. Feel free to PM if you want some ideas.

Quote from Tyranno: “I dunno, I don't have 2020 vision! Ok in all seriousness my main aim is to get my Makhar fully finished with every unit available to at least a 1 minimum, that means painting not just building. But that I should hopefully have done by mid-Spring. So part two of my plan is to get a playable 4500 Asklanders army painted. ” Honestly I like seeing people playing the Auxiliary armies, just in general

So @Mad 'At made a thread for 2019 and I thought "I can one-up that" and so, this is the thread where you let everybody know what you're planning to do in 2020 (also a great way to share tips and ideas)! Me, I'm starting an UD army and I'm getting a resin printer to make a lion-share of those models. It's gonna be a terracotta army because that's really cool. Nobody likes vultures anyway. What about you guys? What's gonna happen T9A-wise in 2020 for you? Or what are some of the things you're loo…

  • I don't play KoE but that's a really good looking unit!

  • Quote from Tyranno: “Quote from Inn0c: “Quote from Eldan: “I thought they had said that TW:WH 3 would be set in AOS? ” that's just a rumour ” It was an April fools joke. ” Yeah that was never part of their roadmap. The impression I've been getting from the devs a complete world with all 15 factions and also other minor factions like Kislev... which could tie in well with a possible End Times story campaign focused in the north with Daemons, Ogres, Kislev and possibly even Chaos Dwarves as the ma…
