  • Hi! Inspired by the Know Your Enemy series of old, started by @Calcathin, I thought it would be interesting to continue it to discuss how to face specific factions with HE. The first one is Vampire Covenant, here is the thread: Know Your Enemy Reloaded - Vampire Covenant Feel free to ask questions, write something abour your own experiences, etc @matrim Regarding the document, I think it is a nice draft. However, after giving it some thought I think that setting up a compilation of community ide…

  • Right, and you claim the moral high ground on what basis, exactly? Because I see none for your own case. Seriously, personal attacks do nothing but send the thread into a chaos and eventually the moderators need to be called. I would like to avoid that.

  • Personal attacks do more to discredit the person making them than their targets. Please refrain from that.

  • Regarding the "fuzzy" army identity of HE (this post is my opinion as a player, not as HE ACS. As HE ACS I would try to convey to other staff the different points of views of this complicated matter). The army has - 4 Infantry units shooting with bows or longbows - 3 Elite Infantry units - 1 Elite Cavalry unit - 7 different flying single models (3 Dragons, Griffon, Eagle, Sloop, Phoenix) - 2 Chariots (3 if you count the Sloop) - 8 character upgrades (Honours), 6 for fighters and 2 for wizards - …

  • @IntrigueAtCourt Speaking from the camp of someone who loved 6th edition of legacy (I still play it once in a while) but wasn't a big fan of the ""heavy cav with ranged support" style that was strong for HE, may I suggest you to try this list? All Cavalry list from DanT It seems to fit the bill of heavy cavalry with magic and shooting support. I'll copy it here in case someone else wants to try it out or get ideas from it: HBE cav list (Hidden Content) I guess you would prefer Reapers or Sloops …

  • Jajaja, gracias @ASuR! Aunque acabo de empezar, tampoco he hecho casi nada de momento Suerte con el doble dragón @Vidi51, ya nos contarás qué tal la batalla.

Quote from clorens: “I guess it would be tried first, but this list is so good that many would not change but I don't really know, as long as I don't change it we could only speculate without knowing what would really happen ” Let's hope the meta changes then Quote from clorens: “but being your Spanish as I know perfectly the panorama of goats here in Spain ” I am Spanish but I do not live in Spain so I only know about the Spanish T9A scene from what people tell me.

  • Hola!

  • Quote from clorens: “is what I try to tell you, it is the same list for individual as for teams, in 80-90% of goat players and it will continue like this until the lab, at least in my country and no, I can't imagine Caal with a radically different list ” Then something should make players attending tournaments to change their list. How is *everyone* playing the same list in a singles tournament with no repercussion for classification to an international tournament? Why don't they want to experim…

  • Quote from clorens: “not only is played by teams there are also many singles and regarding the caal question to put a raiding chariot on your list, have the other players put it? do not ” Mmm, I had the impression that most tournaments in Spain were team tournaments to classify to ETC. I'm glad it's not the case. Do you have lists from BH in singles tournaments in Spain? I do not understand what you mean with your last sentence. My question is imagine CaaL would bring a different list than his l…

  • @clorens I think it has been established throughout this discussion that the meta in Spain is very stale (sadly). That does not mean the meta in the whole world is stale. Also, the lack of singles tournaments in Spain (most if not all are team tournaments, right?) seems to make people less willing to experiment. A thought experiment. Imagine CaaL decides to bring a different list than "the CaaL list" to a tournament. Will people start playing his list in the next tournaments, without understandi…

  • @jaith1 You're absolutely right! I made a mistake while typing, I think I remembered the list with no BSB as having a Companion Prince and not an MoCT I corrected the post which was wrong

  • @Shako Ok no worries, I think filling the excel will take less time since the counting is already done. Quote from AlexCat: “I'd bet its Nova Flare missing on the Griffon ” Ah it makes sense! Although it's missing in the list the player provided in the .zip file.

  • Quote from jaith1: “I took that last sentence at face value, maybe edit it? It was confusing at least to me. ” Could you point out what is confusing? I don't see how it could be misleading I intended to say the same as in this post: Post referenced Regarding MoCT, flexibility is one of its advantages. Healing Waters does not defend vs Flaming, but you do not face Pyromancy or Alchemy every battle (if you do then it's a local meta thing). Btw I have collected some statistics for the Poland Master…

  • I collected some statistics from these lists, I leave them here: Statistics Poland Masters January 2020 - Krakow Total number of players: 102 (34 teams of 3 players) Number of HE lists: 9 Characters (Hidden Content) Core (Hidden Content) Special (Hidden Content) Queen's Bows (Hidden Content) Naval Ordnance (Hidden Content) Ancient Allies (Hidden Content) Special Items (Hidden Content) Let me know if this is useful for you @Just_Flo @Shako (or tag other TA people). Cheers!

  • @jaith1 Pyro master + MoCT Commander is fine, I don't think 7 spells (even 8 with Heirloom) are overkill. The matter is that players want a cowboy (Griffon Prince in this case) and a Sliver Companion Prince (for their SG block), so points for the Character section are tight, hence the prevalence of Adept over Master. The first list went without cowboy or Companion Prince, and there you see Pyro master + MoCT BSB. The other list with Master took MoCT Prince + Pyro Master (and no BSB, the mad lad)…

  • I am with @Adam, Flaming Swords is the only aura spell that buffs shooting available to HE (Stars Align cannot be cast in aura for re-rolling Shooting hit rolls, and Altered Sight is single target), and shooting is very prevalent in all lists, either in the form of SG block + 2/3 Reapers or QG block + 2/3 Reapers. Besides, it works in combat, and the MoCT is already there for utility and for Lash when necessary. I imagine that the Adept is more popular than the Master because of points, many arm…

  • @cmdr.brown Interesting! I think the list is a good stepping stone to play several games and learn the game. Some comments: a) What is the Path of your Mage? b) You don't need a shield on the MoCT BSB, the Essence of Mithril sets the armour to 5 (2+ save) and cannot be improved. Also probably a great weapon is better than a spear on an MoCT BSB, since the rule Sword Sworn gets him a +1 to hit with great weapons. c) The Commander on Griffon is a bit vulnerable with a 5+ armour save and 6+ Aegis s…

  • Quote from Folomo: “Do you have the number per army? I am curious how the 2.2 update changed the selection of the armies. ” There you go, from the tournament organizer (total 102 players, 34 teams of 3 players each): Quote from albo_albo: “Vampire Covenant 11 Ogre Khans 10 Highborn Elves 9 The Vermin Swarm 8 Dwarven Holds 8 Daemon Legions 7 Orcs and Goblins 6 Sylvan Elves 6 Kingdom of Equitaine 6 Warriors of the Dark Gods 6 Empire of Sonnstahl 6 Beast Herds 5 Undying Dynasties 5 Saurian Ancients…
