Interesting, so 3 units that are immune to panic (chariots w/shamanism Soothsayer, minos, Discipline Longhorns+general) and then the rest ambushes? In my experience units of 20-ish longhorns with Blooded Horn support can work wonders. At that size they are competitively priced and don't lose you the game if they die.

Quote from clorens: “beastlord in chariot bsb master druidism wildhorns ambuhs mongrels minos chaff centaurs gortachs Isn't this the caal list? ” You literally enumerated half of the choices of the Beast Herds book. Centaurs as a small chaff unit with paired weapons do not perform the same role as centaurs as a big fighting block. Otherwise I could claim that fighting Wildhorn blocks are well represented because Caal's list has 2 of them. You can't have it both ways. I will venture once more and…

I'll give you that. @Podwys zero points for originality mate. - Konstantin: Beastlord on chariot + Drudism backup, check. Core setup simi…

I had stopped following this thread because of the repetitive nature of the posts, quite often by the same posters. We've established that in Spain (and the rest of the civilized world, for that matter!) only one list gets played, that everything else is inferior to the ONE list, that Beastlords on chariots, Gortachs and Shield Minotaurs are the best thing since sliced bread. We've also noted that it was very unfair that the afore-mentioned choices were "nerfed to oblivion" by 10-20 point price …

So let me guess what the current Spanish meta looks like: - Empire of Sonnstahl: big block of Imperial Guard, big block of Halberds/spears, 3x Light infantry, Steam Tank, Cannon + characters and chaff (Divination magic) - Dwarven Holds: Two variants: Full Vanguard with Double/Triple Seeker block, Full Shooting MSU (Engineer general, double Organ Guns, small warrior/Longbeard darts, as many Steam Copters as you can legally field) - Kingdom of Equitaine: Druidism Master, Duke on Pegasus with Pegas…

I think it's more of an issue of the Spanish tournament scene rather than anything else: I've noticed that there's a lot of copying of successful/netlists for all armies. There's nothing wrong with that, but I don't think it's the only way to go. On the contrary, the more people play the same and the same, the more it entrenches them even deeper into their conviction. It is to be expected that when a list wins a tournament (or three), some players will attempt to copy it. But over time this copy…

Hey! No, since the strength and AP is not *SET* to 5 and 3 respectively. So a Prince with Sylvan Blades and Hero's Heart normally has S5 AP3. If perception of strength is cast on him, he'll become s5 AP4 normally, so this would take precedence over Hero's heart. But he won't get an "extra" point of strength.

Quote from moloch: “other matter. What is the use of hereditary? ” I take it in very special occasions. It can be game-changing against certain armies with good leadership but susceptibility to fear (for that -2 to the break check). In essence, if you can rely on your unit to win combat, it helps break stubborn and steadfast units. As a plus, a failed fear save - while not something to be relied upon - brings a nice boost to the survivability of the units. The current problem with the applicatio…

  • Here are my thoughts after playing several games with an all-elf combat list. Heath Rider price drop + Predator Pennant drop puts them in a very decent spot. The Devastating charge effects is what this unit needs to be impactful, especially when it's 10+ strong. Horn of the Wild Hunt: It allows more aggressive play by enabling a safety net for combo charges. It also makes 10+ swiftstride charges quite reliable, helping out with "sucker punch" charges. The price drops overall allowed me to get th…

The Razorgor/Centaurs are nearing completion: the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…3b17a512b4cf7c21bc83c976b I still need to decide on the final basing scheme of the army (static grass vs tufts and colour palette.. ideas?), and some minor details to pick up here and there. But for now I'll call them done and move on to other things: I had an afternoon of kitbashing/hacking away at plastic. Quote from clorens: “is that if the opponent is allowed to hunt the flank no matter what you load, a good opponent will not allow you to load the flank, nor that you ambush him behind ” Sometimes an opponent doesn't have the possibility to avoid that. After all, a Beast Herds army covers the entire battlefield with ease, and the combination of high movement and swiftstride means that you can attempt charges 16-17" away with very little risk. It has (almost) nothing to do with the opponent's leve…

What is the build for beastlord on foot that makes him work for you? ” Beastlord, GW, LA, Destiny's Call, Blessed Inscriptions, Dragonfire Gem, Crown of Horns. It might be only 4 attacks, but rerolling everything means that you often get 3-4 kills even against tough foes. So the Wildhorns only need to tank a bit and you're winning the fight (and the grind, in the long run). Mind you, the Wi…
