  • Quote from duxbuse: “why is prince on eagle so bad? Mis matched base with kestrals, no kindreds, etc? ” Quote from Aglion: “I don't think the problem of the prince on eagle are the equipment options and his role is canibalized by other entry units - On a dragon you go PW and you have the beast for the rest. No other same role. - On WH you have many attacks. You can go either on divine attacks or S7. Those 2 characters allow you to have something to counter others CC enemy characters On eagle. Yo…

  • Quote from IntrigueAtCourt: “Quote from AlexCat: “Yep, that seems to be the main problem with community dissapointment in the army. We want it to continue being jack of all trades, but we're not fine with "master of none" part ” I don't want jack of all trades at all. One playstyle that we are the best at is all I ask. Or something they are very good at. I don't even think if I'm upset at the power level of the army - more the way it plays on the table. Its not inspiring. Its also certainly not …

@Adam I usually use air brush paints heavily thinned with Vallejo flow improver to get not fully opaque paint coats without clogging the nozzle. For subtle color variations often in color:thinner ratios beyond 1:5. You seem to use that stuff, too. Is that comparable to the effect and handling you get with inks?

  • Bone throne BSB, its that an elf carrying around an adult-movie poster? I'd be okay with that.

  • Quote from Kristian: “Wargamers who are immature cheat. ” That is badly phrased. Cheaters cheat. Being immature does not make one a cheater. It sounds plausible that immature people are more likely to cheat but even that should not be stated as fact without some data to back it up. We should avoid creating the impression of an elitist community if we want to appear open to new players.

  • Not only cheating. There were so many garage-door sized loopholes in the guessing rules that being a good sport did not help to avoid the problems and arguments. When it comes to tricks that are legal, you cannot expect your opponent to ignore them just because you think they are unfair or not immersive. For example shooting with a regular unit next to a cannon on a target next to the Cannon's target. Maybe you then measure the distance even though the target is clearly in range. That is clearly…

  • I think the reason why choices like these sliver and the elk are allowed to exist is the same reason why they are needed: a lack of synergy as army concept. The only way a character can provide value without creating synergies is by making him stand out by himself via killing power. And because they compete with elven elite infantry in terms of killing power, they need to be cranked up to eleven to be worth taking. I believe characters need other roles than just killing stuff. Then neither the s…

  • Quote from AlexCat: “Forget the weapon, just gimmie Elk Prince, the whole package. I have newly cheapish Helms bus for him to ride in. ” And that's probably why HbE have no elk prince and SE have no Lancers.

So far I have been using a .4mm one, but the nozzle broke and now I'm thinking about a replacement. ” .4 mm. I also own .2 mm one but it clogs quite easily. The bigger one is perfectly fine for the kind of stuff I'm doing. ” Thanks for the info. Merry Christmas to you, too.

  • Charcoal has a reasonably high energy density, which is why it's used to make fire. The problem is, in order to oxidize charcoal, you first need to break the carbon-carbon bonds making up the coal. Unfortunately, that cannot really be done the way digestive systems work: with enzymes breaking polarized bonds. The only reliable way is heat. A lot of heat. Luckily, oxidizing the carbon after breaking the bond releases more energy than was needed for bond cleavage. So once the fire is started, it k…

  • Quote from matrim: “Would it be correct to assume that fire phoenix would need to feed like any other normal animal in T9A world? I can imagine how others (Griffon, dragon, feldrak, harpies, kraken, hydra, etc) might be devouring their pray/food, but does the poor fire phoenix can only consume charred stuff? How nutritious is charcoal? Or is there a specific pray that's extremely resistant to fire that the phoenix relies on? Do FP exist in the wild or are they bred in captivity only? If they roa…

  • Quote from Zwei: “Quote from AlexCat: “I have come to peace with this change. Yes, Fire Phoenix is an incredible creature with unbelievable physiology and metabolism, yes, it has hidden magic within, the only explanation for Rebirth I have. But it doesn't mean its entire being is magical, so that magic seeps from him constantly like with Daemons or Etherial. ” I just find it extremly strange, that in a world where "real", "normal" birds (like gulls) exist, that a everburning (and not hurt by its…

Quote from berti: “I would think this list should not include additional support from charakters or magic. Else it is more a thing of the magic/support than the basic unit. ” Fair enough, but then almost everything that isn't stubborn should fall off the list as well because it could get flank charged without supporting units.

  • Measuring everything also removes all discussions about alleged cheating because something that could be used to measure distances was placed somewhere on the table where it might help guesstimate a certain distance. It's a blessing that we can measure everything.

Quote from Folomo: “Quote from Aenarion43: “Still, “better gear” shouldn’t mean “your special rules are on your gear rather than you”. That’s just semantics. ” Yes and no.While the end result of the mechanics is important, how they are presented also matters. Specially if you want to give each army a memorable style according to their background. Mechanically an archer with Aim(3+) is equal to an archer with Aim (4+) and a mastercrafted bow that gives him +1 to hit, but they tell a much differen…

in my lists wild hunter characters are generally left out for the same reasons I don't take wild hunter units: their bird mounted equivalents are just so much more flexible. They do have less punch, but they do get it where it's needed.

Quote from Hachiman Taro: “I feel like the drop to Forest Guardian Kindred is significant. I can see FG BSB with Hunters Honour being a somewhat of a thing again, esp combined with Essence change. Could be wrong. ” Maybe. I'm am certainly not the most experienced player here, but I always feel that I need too much investment to make blocks of FG do actual work. I would need an expensive but fragile character and keep a wizard in range who has at least two combat buffs available. If the alternati…
