  • Quote from WastelandWarrior: “they look great mate. Why the downer on T9A for you ATM, if you don't mind me asking? ” A combination of: Me failing to find opponents The lack of fluff (or at least, easily accessile fluff) for the factions I give more than a pigs ham about The huge amount of models needed The feel that it is just a tad too GW-centric for me (I forgot how many threads I saw about how there must be sigmarines and wet elves, because gw does them) Other games being more accessible, mo…

  • Not quite dead yet, and it's only been 7 months or so... Anyway, some ponybird knights the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…acb95b41353d9e599bb63289f Personal headcanon is that these are a religious order of Sunna, hence very different colour scheme from the rest of the army (even if they didn't end up with bronze armour in the end). (Will have to admit, I've mostly lost motivation for painting my T9A stuff, except when it's also useful for other games... and for the game in general )

  • Not quite dead (just thoroughly dismotivated to paint T9A stuff), although it took me almost a year to have something more to show the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…acb95b41353d9e599bb63289f Converted from Sgimarine ponybirds, with riders from Perry Mounted Men-at-Arms 1450-1500. Trickier than it sounds, since the Perry are designed for mounts significantly slimmer than these. Nothing greenstuff and liberal hacking off of limbs can't fix, though...

  • Quote from Glonojad: “hardly fits the fyreslayerz (or whatever spelling GW chose for IP reasons). ” You're saying that as if it's a bad thing Looks interresting, I might actually consider getting it...

  • Quote from FlyingScanian: “Through my various detours through the internet, I found Atlantis Miniatures (atlantisminiatures.com/), which looks excellent, with very characterful dwarves both men and women (and very scottish ones, at that). Does anyone here have any experience with them? If so, I have essentially two questions: How well do they rank up? And how well would they match Oathmark dwarves (as champions, characters, and/or just nice looking models interspersed here and there)? ” I might …

  • I'm a bit low on 50mm based monsters, else I'd join with my Vikings to give Ogrob some opposition...

  • Saga: Age of Magic

    FlyingScanian - - Other Games

    Post

It will most definetely get played at the local club after summer. I will most likely get it as soon as I can afford, along with more dwarves... just need to figure out what to take for my dwarves, other than "more dwarves".

  • Sometimes, I paint entire units in one go. THis... is not one of those times. 24 landsknecht means 2 characters, and parts for 5 different units. Qz4zRNO.jpg Light infantry, both handgun and crossbow-armed, Imperial Guard, and Heavy infantry with both spears and halberds. I'm almost impressed. cnJ1cjf.jpg mbF86RI.jpg THe prelate is entirely plastic. Everything is from the Warlord Games Landsknecht command sprue, except for the shield (which is from the bitz box... no clue as to origins). The fla…

  • Quote from RobertR: “I'm thinking of the ones from Avatars of War, Shieldwolf and MOM. I've seen the Warlord landskencht stuff and I like it. It seems like it would fit well with the models from Perry. ” I'm considering getting an AoW model for easter (possibly their Sunna, so that if she doesn't fit, I can blame it on her being a goddess). No clue about MOM. Shieldwolf will, sadly, not fit. At least not if the rest of their models are roughly on par with their plastic shieldmaidens. A quick no-…

  • Iiinterresting...

  • Define "non-GW prelate models" Quote from piteglio: “looking forward to seeing what you'll build! i think @FlyingScanian could share some knowledge here, right? ” I've so far mostly used Warlord Games (Landsknecht, yo ), but I have a few Perry, and they're of similar size. Of course, both look human, and not like the steroid-fueled gorillas in pyjamas toting vaguely weapon-shaped things most likely made of foam that are the current GW models... (I have in fact one GW handgunner, that I will pain…

  • I'm afraid I will be busy until at least easter. Perhaps poke me after that, if you're still without EoS general...

  • Quote from infamousme: “The main dwarf infantry box from the oathmark dwarfs gives you the option for bowmen. ” I know. Sadly, I'm particular enough that I want crossbows, not bows... Quote from Little Joe: “A shame you need to chop off those bases anyhow. I really don't understand why you get those in a multipar modeling kit. It's not as if you are not supposed to glue things together. So why not allow "advanced" basing as well. Makes it hard to have stunties. ” I actually prefer the more solid…

  • Now I just need to figure out some matching crossbow-dwarves... Plastic, of course, I try to stay away from metals. Haven't found any all that good. I might even have to go with... *shudder* GW.

  • Oathmark Heavy Dwarven Infantry is getting closer, for all your Deep Watch and Kingsguard needs AyzThpx.jpg I'm not sure two boxes (30 models each) will be enough for me...

  • Quote from Little Joe: “Just convert those hats witch hunter style and they will fit the "common" aesthetic. ” The helmest aren't my biggest problem, rather the cut of their clothes and how their swords are shaped. (That said, I might do more floppy hats for the other unit ) Quote from Little Joe: “The armored dwarves? ” The armored dwarves.

  • I got a bit distracted by Blood & Plunder, but now I'm slowly making my way back into the light of Sunna. For now, a unit of Reiters (models are Warlord Games plastic cavalry, decent enough kit) the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…acb95b41353d9e599bb63289f the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…acb95b41353d9e599bb63289f They're a bit more modern than my landsknecht, but they'll do for now. Might have to revisit reiters later (perhaps a kitbash between these, and Perry light cavalry?) Next up (in T9A terms...…

  • Would these be official or unofficial (well, not made by the main team, very little os truly unofficial in T9A)? This is probably a controversial, and possibly far outside the box, idea, but how about we focus on finishing the first 16 books to full FABs, and then we can start drabbling around with niche, special auxilliary lists? Sure, we have 2-4 FABs (not sure if UD and SE count, but they at least have something), and if you like spiky stuff, more is coming (ID next, and then DE last I heard?…

  • Interresting thing in hindsight: I hadn't lost a single unit, but Berlioz was the only one near the center (with his one surviving unit) since mine had gone running of, either to chase down some pesky lizards, because a tiny lizard looked terrifying, or because the bigger lizards hit hard... A fifth turn would have changed the game completely (I'd like to think)
