  • Quote from SenecaJr: “To compare to Border Town Burning, they’d have access to a caster (maybe expensive) but with no access to individual marks because Ninth Age fluff. Probably give them different schools than Seidkennar, or limit them to Evocation? I am also definitely not invested in this so I can destroy everyone else in my campaign. ” I'm considering three options: 1. Adding a generic Sorcerer (basically copied from T9A but with only 1 Att) to the WDG, available to both configurations. Tho…

  • Quote from SenecaJr: “Why do WotDG not have a caster? Don’t sorcerers usually join groups of path walkers and guide them through father chaos’s will? Kinda sucks that the only option is to hire a mercenary caster or buy an expensive book. ” They are not exactly unique in not having access to a wizard, but I guess it would sense for them to have one. Just need to figure out how to add it so that it doesn't clash too much with the Seidkennar Hireling.

Quote from Inn0c: “ @Mad 'At Thank you for your encouragement on the skin. I already did an edge highlight on the cloth on the test model, perhaps its so thick it reads as a layer highlight Interesting idea about the shadows, I was thinking of using some purple wash in the shadows of the skin, Im not sure how blue will read though? Is this something you have experience with? ” I definitely see that you have highlighted the cloth, but you can always push it further. A dash of Pale Sand or Ivory o…

  • Quote from WastelandWarrior: “Two beautiful minis! Nice work man ” Thanks for the kind words Quote from Promet: “oldschool miniatures and nice bases - I feel right at home here ” Oldschool indeed, GW really has a long history of miniatures, with gems scattered throughout. Glad you liked the bases too, it is something I personally feel is my weakest area. I need to experiment more with it, but when doing armies I find that hard to do.

This looks very interesting! Don't change the skin, that's a lovely tone. If you want to increase the contrast with the clothing, perhaps you could brighten the clothing a little bit? An edge highlight could help define the borders. You could also push the shadows of the skin a little deeper, maybe add some blue to the darkest shadows?

Thanks for the comments! Quote from infamousme: “that wizard is Max from the Gotrek and Felix novels. Nice work on it. I think it looks good clean and doesnt need any freehand. ” Quote from Little Joe: “It's Max Schreiber from a limited GW edition in, I think it was 34mm, came in foil bags: Gotrek, Felix, Snorri, Max and Ulrika with a big scenic base to put them on. He comes on that rocky base, I have the slayers somewhere ... Looks absolutely stunning painted up. ” Wow, I had no idea! Thanks fo…

  • Another two models finished up. First I did a test model to learn how to paint bright red, almost orange cloaks, and used Aenur the Sword of Twillight, an old Mordheim miniature by Games Workshop. He was fun to paint and I learned a lot about the cloak painting, so I'm very glad I did test it out first. For the rest of the miniature I choose a paint scheme inspired by my mother's favourite colours. She loved matching orange with pink and it really is a nice combo. Will probably try to find more …

Quote from Little Joe: “An awesome scenic base, one gloats while 2 get ready to reload. ” Thanks! I do try to tell a little story with the warmachine bases. Been thinking about doing an extra base for them though which the existing one slots into, to fit all the stuff that should be going on around a cannon. But I doubt I'll be able to prioritize it xD Meanwhile, I was able to prioritise painting up my second wizard, the last model I needed for my tournament army in early March. Was a real fun m…

  • And here comes the latest report. Battle 10: Respite! vs DH and HBE The Journal of Legend by Alonso de Santa Genoveva My compañeros must be getting jeoulous of my skills. I’m sure they tampered with my Vera, for in today’s battle she barely landed a single hit, despite me finidng the best possible fireing position. They must be thinking that now that I’ve lost an eye they can just push me around, but jokes on them for I lost my bad eye, barely every use it! I’ll keep my good eye on Vera from now…

  • Recently played a game with my EoS warband again, which made me realise I never wrote a battle report on the game before that. Playing this time got me motivated so I tracked down the pictures and wrote something up as best I remembered the game. • Thanks you for the support! Quote from dan: “How’d you do that rust on the Orcs? ” My standard technique. 1. I put Typhus Corrosion on the large surfaces to get some texture (there are probably better ways to get texture, but that is what I use), be careful to stay away from the edges though, especially on blades where you want lots of chipping. 2. Then I basecoat the whole thing in a dark reddish brown, usually a mix of Model Colour Red Leather and Model Colour Burnt Umber. 3. Then a messy dryb…

  • Quote from Blonde Beer: “Nice idea to combo the blog :). ” Once I got the idea, it felt very natural. Will end up being a nice little log of all I've painted in the year. Speaking of which, I finished up another model. A Volley Gun for my EoS army. The wood saw some airbrush work but otherwise it was pretty standard painting: 28570-80141bab-large.jpg 28571-b1d40b6c-large.jpg

Been working on a few things in preparation for a tournament:(Hidden Content) Recently finished up the Volley Gun, my second warmachine. Introducing The Lion's Roar: 28570-80141bab-large.jpg 28571-b1d40b6c-large.jpg Quite happy with this one, especially the conversion work, even though it is so subtle. I used the frame from the old metal Games Workshop Hellblaster Volleygun, and combined it with some bits from their newer one in plastic. I debated taking the whole gun part of the warmachine from…

  • Fair, short is not the best word to describe it, but I think lonely is. Taking the Pact in mass doesn't really seem to be a thing, so most people probably venture out alone in search of resources and a smith. They don't join up with anybody until they find the smith, where there often will be other budding warriors who were also "pulled" there. From there on they reluctantly form warbands since there is strength in number even though it diminishes their own glory. I agree that it is a topic that…
