  • Quote from YeahGucciFrisur: “First unit, finished in 1.5 days. Matte varnish still needed. VTthCcy.jpg cDOHcTq.jpg ” Your "NON-EXISTENT" painting skills? These look pretty damn good to me man!

  • Quote from Pellegrim: “I agree with basically your whole post. And I also see room for other evil then mindless unexplaineble evil. But reading some of the official reactions on such topics I am skeptikal on how this will be shaped, and it seems they want to give all factions a "good side" too, or a side that is rationally explainable. I hope that leaves enough room for unexplainable evil, as it is such a powerfull motive. This will partially decide how the official fluff is being accepted by th…

  • Quote from JimMorr: “We do not need purposeless evil. We can go with purposeless evil from non-omniscient witness POV who describes it. One example of such approach is Nurgle in Warhammer 40k. Nurgle demons do not spread disease because they hate all the living. Quite opposite, they love them and want to enrich them with great gifts if their father. Everyone should have a chance to watch their internals burst through their rotting skin. At least with one eye. It is real fun. Another example. Let…

Evil for evil's sake is such a powerfull concept, as it leaves room for people to fill in the why. The constant relativism of 9th Age is much more boring, as it tries to fill in motives. Maybe there wasn't a motive. Maybe th…

  • Quote from Pellegrim: “I could name countless of well known unexplained evils .. but so can you guys. So no merrit in going there. True unexplained evil over "vampires have feelings" any day bro! ” An "unexplained evil" doesn't make it pure evil. Nor does "unexplained good" make it pure good. And not to burst your bubble...but guess at what point unexplained evil becomes more interesting? The moment someone learns a part of the explanation that casts doubt on the claim that it's pure evil. There…

  • Quote from Little Joe: “Scibor has a few new dwarves again, this one stands out for T9A use since all heroes have plate armor: Engineer dwarf_engineer_3_01.jpg ” Ohhh man....these dwarves that Scibor are doing in winter clothing are just way too awesome! I need to get some money together so I can get one of their unit sets. These guys! "Dwarves of Ice Stronghold" ice_stronghold_dwarves_set_01.jpg Anybody want to give a generous donation to the "Mike needs more miniatures" Foundation?

Quote from Happy Aspid: “Finished my third giant today. Now I can play as triumvirate of Wizard Giants. They all different, but at the same time - like a family, with older and two younger brothers. (Hidden Content) ” Oh wow! Isn't that the old, old Marauder Miniatures giant? Like late 80s or early 90s GW? I love that model, always wanted to get my hands on one!

  • Very, very interesting conversation! I have always found the most compelling fantasy worlds are the ones that have factions/nations/races of people that are not obviously or wholly "evil". For me it's not about moral relativism, but rather the notion that no race of beings will act perfectly in all situations and for all times. It's also about the very, very, very touchy and precarious notion of what is evil to one nation is an act of good to another. I could get in HUGE trouble very quickly on …

  • Hello my fellow Empire lovers! I thought this one was too cool to pass up. There is a cool, little mini. company called Turnkey Miniatures. They make a whole line of inexpensive fantasy and medieval civilian characters for populating your RPG or wargame settings. I got a bunch of stuff for my own village/town settings, but one miniature in particular really stood out and was one that is quite unique. Just lost an important battle? Been utterly routed from the field? Trounced by the enemy in ever…

  • Over in the Citadel Contrasts thread I show my latest work with some classic Star Wars Legion character models and what Nazdreg Yellow can do for non-metallic metal golden armor. The possibilities are endless for 9th Age armies! If you struggle with doing NMM armor the traditional way, here is a pretty cool way to do golden armor with a single application of contrast over a white undercoat. Worth checking out! • Hello all! Back after a long absence with some new Contrast updates. This is one of my best so far. For the game Star Wars Legion, I recently picked up an expansion for my rebel army. It's R2D2, C3PO, and their iconic escape pod from Episode IV. When I got these models built, I had this very strong hunch that one of the yellow contrast colors would make a perfect non-metallic metal golden suit for C3PO. And I was certain that for R2D2 the way to go was to do an overall wash of Apothecary White o…

  • Quote from Zanthrax: “Update 7 - WIP of the next (last) ten barbarians and a sneak pic of the next chosen warrior and sorcerer: ironhaiden666.blogspot.com/202…arauder-update-7.html?m=1 ” Those look really amazing! The color schemes are perfect. I did something similar with a bunch of Pox Walkers, taking away their 40k elements and making them more fantasy. Great job, love the weapons!

  • Quote from Little Joe: “Titan Forge is going for dwarves next month, new designs from them as well: 84306026_2853758621352461_4153584243995312128_o.jpg I see Grudge Buster, Anvil, Greybeards, Deep Watch, Rangers and some heroes. 3 -5 designs per unit would work better, it's digital, making small tweaks is not that hard if you add stuff and they are modular. What do you think of this? ” That Forge master guy with the anvil and giant mechanical forge arms is just...beyond cool!!

  • Quote from Lich King: “I've got children in the age of 9, 7, 5, 3, 1 years and one that has not even been born, mate. As long as the Breach isn't delayed until the youngest of them becomes an adult, it'll be worth to wait for a product with high quality miniatures and cards to make the first steps into wargaming. You've got my love and so you've got my patience! ” You sir, are very productive...!

  • Quote from msu117: “130ebc40.jpga95ec68e.jpg41fb8e70.jpgf8c1a99d.jpg ” I couldn't put my finger on what the spearmen reminded me of. I just got it! They look more like something out of the movie "300" than they do fantasy elves. In other words, they look like something that maybe might be based on something historical, but they've been totally butchered for a Hollywood script or something. The sculpts are trying to do too many things at the same time. Just doesn't work for me.
