  • Quote from llyrapJOHN: “hi, if i have a prince on a dragon and he uses hail shot, does he have quick to fire and accurate when using the item hail shot? ” Just Accurate. Hail shot is a shooting weapon used to make shooting attacks with. The Prince using it has Accurate as a model rule and since this rule applies to all shooting attacks the model part makes, it also applies to the Hail Shot. His Sylvan Longbow is what provides him Quick to Fire but only for attacks made with the Sylvan Longbow, w…

  • Quote from Loremaster: “I like it better than what I had suggested initially. The difference from my suggestion is that the Breakdown effect (can't shoot for the rest of the game) you can't just fix it with one turn of losing the engineer effect - you have to lose the engineer effect every turn you want to shoot it. ” I wouldn't really call it losing the effect each turn, since you are getting to fire a weapon that you would normally not be allowed to fire. I just thing getting to fully disregar…

  • Quote from Tobi_Tobsen: “does that mean if i cast chilling howl on a unit with no Magic resistance, but it would affect a unit with magic resistance because of the spells range, the magic reistance is used against the Spell? ” As far as I can tell no. MR works on spells that target the unit with MR, since the spell targets a unit and then the spell effect is applied on nearby units those nearby units don't get the opportunity to resist the casting of the spell, since they're not being targeted (…

  • I'll answer assuming you mean Magical Resistance when you say RM. Yes, you apply the full -4 modifier if they target the unit with MR4 because Aura spells target all units within range.

  • If the initial roll to hit is a 1, you re-roll it due to Primal Instinct. If the re-rolled roll to hit is a 1, you apply the hit on the BH unit due to Mirrored Scales. Unrelated note: Props for actually including the army name in the question!

  • I like that idea. Magical Tattoos (or whatever) Suit of Armour: provides +0 Armour. Can be Enchanted as if it was [insert the armour type it can be enchanted as]. A similar idea is an enchant-able helm or headdress. Helm/Headdress (or whatever) Suit of Armour: provides +X Armour. Can be Enchanted as if it was [insert the armour type it can be enchanted as].

  • Quote from piteglio: “on the topic of learning the game, we have ” A large difficult to read and understand core rulebook we've deliberately frozen and will not be changing in the near future. The supporting material is pretty great, but I expect a lot of new players want to play the actual game not the cut down version. But it's a difficult thing to do and we're not making any effort to make it easier.

  • Quote from Loremaster: “Quote from theunwantedbeing: “When you say "fix when it's broken", do you mean resurrect the thing? ” No. ” Okay good. So letting the engineer basically make the weapon unable to misfire seems a bit much when it's in addition to all the other abilities the engineer provides. However we can take that idea in a less having your cake and eating it direction. eg. Engineer (X+) Once per Shooting Phase, an unengaged Engineer may select a single War Machine within 6″ that has no…

  • Quote from Adam: “Quote from CariadocThorne: “It would do nothing to help smaller units, like 20-25 models though, and those are the ones which don't seem to have a place at the moment. ” 480 - High Prince: Queen's Companion, General, Longbow: Moonlight Arrows, Light Armor: Destiny's Call, Spear: Sliver of the Blazing Dawn 350 - Commander: Master of Canreig Tower, BSB, Great Weapon 295 - Mage, Adept, Pyromancy, Book of Arcane Mastery 703 - 29 Sea Guard, MSC, Banner of Speed 275 - 20 Citizen Spea…

  • Quote from DarkSky: “Quote from SlaveToThePyre: “Because it is the format of huge tournaments. ” And what could the team do to change this? I want to point out, that there are exactly two(!) points where 4.500 points are mentioned: 1. BRB 9.A "For an optimal gaming experience, we recommend playing at 4500 points." 2. BRB Table 8: Shows an extra column for example values at 4.500 points. These are all hints that may mention 4.500 points. ” For tournaments? There's nothing we can do about it until…

  • When you say "fix when it's broken", do you mean resurrect the thing?

  • Quote from Bretboy84: “To me and for my friends warhammer fantasy is more balanced than 9th age. You may argue so much as you want. You must accept that not all gamers like 9th age or the path it was taken. ” I suspect that when you say balance, you mean a different thing to what most people on here would think of when they think of balance. Quote from Bretboy84: “There are many reasons why 9th age lost my interest. Some of these are rules of spears, Koe army list and stubborn designers. ” If yo…

  • Quote from TheSpid: “This distinction already exists perfectly fine in the rulebook. The highlighted sentence is directly specified in the Priority of Modifiers section. Imo, this sentence should be either deleted or placed in brackets as a reminder. @theunwantedbeing are you taking this internally? Should be looked at even though it's minor ” Maybe. I can't promise anything. @Eisenheinrich is this something we want to look at?

  • The Wheel Turns Melee Attacks made by {and distributed towards} R&F models in the target unit are set to wound on a 4+, and Close Combat Attacks made by {and allocated against}R&F models in the target unit additionally are set to hit on a 4+, regardless of Offensive Skill, Defensive Skill, Strength, and Resilience. Apply this effect before other to-hit and to-wound modifiers. That line is confusing. Without it, there's no reason to assume you do get the bonuses from weapons and such, but …

  • Quote from Vulgarsty: “Logically, having a second unit in your rear does not shorten the reach of your spears nor blunt their sharpness against an enemy unit charging your frontage that is impaling themselves on them. ” True but the unit needs to function in a coherent manner to function effectively enough to generate the bonus, since it's not simply the presence of the spear that grants the bonus but the use of it in an effective manner. It's harder to organise against a charge properly when yo…

  • Quote from warboss_r'ok_ghost: “Quote from DanT: “But if by changing 1-2 rules, ” It's better to change 0 rules than to change 1-2 rules. Keep the game the same, just work on content. ” I think it depends more on what the changes are, not the number of them. There are lots of really clunky niggly rules with exceptions and limitations where we've got them like that because we've tried to keep the number of changes to a minimum, instead of making a number of changes to properly solve the issue tha…

  • Quote from Pellegrim: “What about the flee-pursuit-catch-destroy mechanic. I always found it rather binary. I think I'd like it when itstead of destroying a unit you'd get an extra round of attacks. How bout yous? ” Probably overly time consuming, and vs tougher enemies or with weaker units you'll often do little or no damage. A more streamlined idea might be rather than fleeing units caught by pursuing enemies are destroyed, fleeing models caught by pursuing enemies are destroyed. This means le…

  • Quote from Nicreap: “Quote from theunwantedbeing: “What makes you think the spell would auto-fail? ” because the dispeller can roll 0 dice and achieve a value greater than or equal to the casting value (aka 0) ” Ah I see the issue, you're making an assumption which isn't supported by the rules. I understand why you've made that assumption, because it seems pretty logical that if your casting value is 0 (or less) the spell shouldn't be cast should it? But that's not how the rules work. Apologies …

  • What makes you think the spell would auto-fail?

  • Quote from Jadeeyes: “The object of the game is breakthrough. From turn 2 my ambushing SCORING units appear in the field. I put them in the farthest corner of the battlefield, where my enemy would take like three or four turns to turn back, go backwards and try to charge them. Result: I do the objective FAST and EASY. Almost like cheating. ” True but to win that objective you need the most units with scoring in the enemy deployment zone, but it's only to a maximum of 3. If your opponent can get …
