  • @Bash I do. Taken from TourneyKeeper, 2020 only: (Hidden Content) Total average per battle - 9,25 Master, average per battle - 9,17 Local, average per battle - 9,48 3. ETC 2019 16 SA, average 59,06 points / 9,84 per battle TourneyKeeper is a good enough source to have a quick glance, but should be looked at cautiously since some players don't add their armies and that screws the bigger picture a little bit. Most of the time it's a margin though, within 5% I would say. Other than that it's a pret…

  • Quote from marcema: “A close combat variant of a weaponbeast could be an idea. Sounds definitely fun to bring more beasts into this army to differ from the Saurians and Skinks. ” Just give them S5 as they used to have

  • @Eymuster SWs won't be reduced to 10 starting sized unless ridiculously overpriced I'm afraid. We had those at one point (around 1.3 I think) for 170 pts and were spammed quite literally. Skinks and TGs were far worse, so at least they would have to compete now. Making them 0-3 could easily prevent that from happening though.

  • Quote from Just_Flo: “[...] During 2.0 we did sort of divide the monsters in the flesheaters and the plant eaters (which one was determined if it had reroll1s to hit) [...] ” I still can't wrap my head around why it went this way. Sure there's fluff reason - which is not hard to come up since you can literally make up anything that'll fit your reasoning. But from army/gameplay perspective that's the only CC-oriented unit in the book that doesn't have re-roll 1s. That screams inconsistent design …

  • @arwaker B > B1 I'm afraid this situation is far more complex than making frog more/less powerful and just adjusting the points accordingly. One doesn't justify another, as we've seen with every patch. Because Cuatl is in a pretty decent spot right now, it's the alternatives that should be looked at. Currently there's no alternative (at least competitive one) if you want to go for magic good enough to have any impact. And let's just admit, you can't play without magic in this game, certainly not…

  • Quote from arwaker: “I really can't construct a cohesive picture of the allegedly Cuatl problem with so many contradicting statements. SA LAB preparation of community desires will be a hard piece of work for someone ” That's because you asked on open forum and were given different answers by different people. What are these contradicting statements exactly? Couldn't find a single one tbh.

  • Quote from SmithF: “Don’t forget the slit for spell cards. This way your opponent can clearly see what spells are effecting the unit. Very good design, actually. The guys from Russia had something similar so perhaps there’s a way to get them on the market? ” I'm not entirely sure on this, but I think Furion made the project himself and had someone else cut everything out.

  • Quote from arwaker: “[...] I have a question: Is Cuatl without Disciplines worth taking? Maybe it is a misbalance between basic cost and upgrade cost. ” IMO no. Base Cuatl is just an overpriced Wizard Master. If you're already paying for it, you might as well pump it some more to actually get some value for your points. Quote from arwaker: “So, some players think Cuatl is too expensive, but they still play it, because they care less about winning an more about their game flavour. [...] ” As I me…

  • Quote from Traumdieb: “You forget that the priest got stand behind and makes a combat unit like Saurus Warriors bigger and steadfast in one or the other spot. Which is about worth 40 - 50 pts. Here a rule: Voice of a cuatl. If no cuatl is in the army list one Skink Priest (mark him on the list) gets +1 on his casting rolls. ” I didn't, added it in edit ~15 mins ago. Since there's no hope for any redesign (even for infamous Thyro), the only course of action we can take is correcting entries with …

  • (Hidden Content) IMHO: -external balance for Priest is really bad. Fully kited out Priest costs close to a regular Wizard Master, yet 2 of his spells are locked on and he doesn't even have +1 casting modifier. Not even a competition, even with Stand Behind in mind. -base Cuatl cost is still the highest in the game, with his only "advantage" being situational 4++ and 4HP (helps out vs snipes and some miscasts). Other than that he has no real advantages baseline, magic or non-magic related. Everyt…

  • Quote from Aeon: “This is sexy. I don't remember how it was, but it can be different Dino that boost something different in the game. [...] ” Unit with Born Predator within 12" gets Hatred until the end of the turn/CC phase, One Use Only.

  • Quote from yhandros: “And: 21.A.a.9 Fearless If more than half of a unit’s models are Fearless, the unit automatically passes Panic Tests and cannot declare a Flee Charge Reaction, unless already Fleeing. Models that are Fearless are also immune to the effects of Fear . ” Panic Test is not a Fear Test. As you quoted, fearless models are immunte to effects of Fear, not entire units. Quote from Tobi_Tobsen: “yeah, but if the unit is fearless it takes no test, right? Only the Char in the unit takes…

  • I think we should focus on fixing existing entries instead of adding more. What you described is basically a skink priest on palanquin with disciplines minus bsb option. It's not distinct enough to justify it's existence imo.

  • Quote from Tobi_Tobsen: “Iron Orcs gets charged in the flank from a fear causing unit. Irons are fearless. A non - fearless General is in the Iron Orcs and not in base contact with the unit causing fear. So the General is not affected by fear, right? ” Fear affects entire unit, not just models in BtB: u57PB89.png

  • Another team tournament in Warsaw: 4-man teams, 4500 pts as usual, 40 teams atm (160 players) - a couple of teams is still missing. SA lists, in no particular order: (Hidden Content) >6/7 Cuatl Lords, 5 are Essence+Tablet with Alchemy/Pyromancy. >4/7 Alpha Carnos, each has Starfall Shard, each except one has Obsidian Rock. >7/7 lists with Tauro, 14 in total averaging 2 per list. >6/7 lists with Braves w/ javelins, 16 in total averaging ~2,3 per list. So yeah, lists are more or less the same with…

  • Quote from arwaker: “Aside from any balance issues, is there a conceptual issue that is considered dissatisfying? I read about boring armies. Can we talk about that? What exactly is the point that makes some people bored? I haven't yet read a really satisfying explanation for this feeling. Is it possible to explain this in a bit more analytical way? ” I'll try: >Low count of unit entries, lack of diversity between units - self explainatory, >Lack of options on units - equipment, upgrades like ma…

  • Quote from Red88: “i dont say they are so strong, but i say they can fight everything. ” Kind of misleading then Quote from Red88: “[...] and i think SA are very Strong now... [...] ” They definitely are pretty versatile, yet a bit boring though.

  • Quote from Kristoffer Lysholm: “Can you choose not to cast your Attribute spell? ” You can. Wording of the Attribute Spells: PciNtLN.png "[...] The caster may cast the Attribute spell [...]", so yeah - it's entirely optional and up to you.

  • Quote from Kisscool: “Omen of Savar : Divine Right: ... This duel must (if possible) be accepted by a Character unless a Champion accepts first. Can a Cuatl Lord not accept the duel (palanquin rule) ? Can a Vermin swarm character not accept it (Honourless) ? ” Divine Right: characters MUST accept duel issued by Omen. Palanquin/Honourless: can't be chosen to suffer penalties for refusing a duel. They don't get to refuse whenever they want, they just don't suffer the consequences of refusing a due…
