  • Spell cards updated to 2.0. UPDATE: the next day update. Fire and Ice was just plain wrong. Added some readability to Cosmology and multi-stat spells with boosted versions.

  • In Arcane Compendium p. 10 Occultism there is two very similarly cast spells, Hand of Glory and Breath of Corruption. Is there a reason for one having the "Focused" word universal (regular text), while the other has it as boosted version (blue text)?

  • I am going to hold off too. Seeing the Kadims changed their fly to something else might make me want to shelve the ones I got converted and start over.

  • For my money it would be a bit more fun that, instead of giving extra bonuses when inside forest, enemies would get some malus when going inside them. Like child's tales of old manifested, you don't want to go in forest when there are angry spirits about. What I imagined is something like DT to every unit type, and/or forced panic test? Count it as a unit with musician for the purpose of march test (enemies being wary and scared around them)? Or just plain old DIS penalty? All of these would bec…

I'm with the above. Making every unit really special takes away the contrast, and that makes every unit not special at all.

I've only used it when I'm not in range for the regular attack. Str 0 might still kill something.

What if some bread and butter rat units had "Reanimation value" so other beaten up units could contribute their number to bigger ones? Remove REA amount of models from beaten up unit and raise models to another close by unit, up to REA value or how many were removed from the first unit (whichever is smaller). Gate it however would be needed, like only once per turn per unit, and only from units that are below certain threshold etc. Or It is a bit abstract rule, since a slave could become an elit…

  • Out of all factions I think they need LAB the most. Can't wait to start thinking about rats in the 9th Age!

  • I want to echo some of these fun concepts already said. Forest spirits are really cool concept, a real fun project to scratch build and can easily given an ability that either reinforces our strengths or mitigates our weaknesses. Give an incentive to put elf heroes in spirit units and vice versa. Could open up a lot of list building options and would look darn cool on table. Someone mentioned climbing elves. Give pathfinders that ability! If they didn't move and are inside a forest they'd be ele…

I think it's a fair trade (mechanically) too. All I was saying is that it's weird to have "reliable" and "Vermin Swarm" together in a same sentence.

To continue the ID tangent. I was thinking about the Blunderbuss design, a deep shooting unit, and how it does not make that much sense to have it work by just giving the troops shotguns. So what would make sense as a deep (or just big) shooting unit, and my first and only though was some sort of rat device. A handheld device or a bigger war platform that is powered by the deep unit of rats pushing it. Maybe a long treadmill, a line of hand cranks, or maybe a unit full of battery carriers, or Ma…

  • I got the Elk. They are all PVC I believe, so getting rid of mold lines is a giant hassle. Personally I wouldn't get any PVC miniatures for any R&F units.

  • Quote from Chronocide: “No offense intended in the slightest, but SE really don't appeal as an army I'd be willing to build. Really bland, in my opinion. I'd imagine that a decrease of local players might be related to a dislike of building an army, at least as likely as an in-game reason. Dunno, seems like SE is two partial armies combined, rather than one complete army. You have the Elves and the trees. The SE elves don't really have enough on their own, and the trees too. ” To each their own.…

Okay, I just didn't triangulate the rules well enough. Why keep the Model Rule then, though? Why not replace Chariot on the DT test table with Construct? EDIT: Or hey, here's another idea. The Chariot Model Rule should tell which units are Chariots. When one needs to check up how much DT damage their unit is going to take, you look up terrain -> see the Chariot entry -> Look up Chariot rule -> Only says it takes more DT damage (the same thing as the DT table). The leads of figuring out if that u…

There is a Model Rule "Chariot". Checked a few books and no chariot seems to have that rule, nor does any other unit for that matter. That rule also links to some other places, like Dangerous Terrain roll tables etc. Is it some old relic left there or am I going crazy?

  • You know, I've had dreams about Citadel Guards guarding their citadel walls with their flintlocks not having the range to hit any enemies. Maybe if they can get a moving wall, they can get in range?

  • Oh, so we might get two towers? The bigger and dumber the ID war machines are the more I love 'em. Also there's so much more potential for scratch building which makes me super happy.

  • I'm really, really feeling this! It's just too bad that Lammasu as a character mount had to go. It was nice and symmetric to have mage mount for mages and fighty mount for fighters.

There is something funky in that page. Opening that in Illustrator gives me a giant huge box on purple over everything else, which is not preset in other pages. Almost as if the purple text had bled its contents from a broken path.

  • No. They are fire.
