Quote from Chronocide: “Looked up the Sweden thing. nationalreview.com/2020/04/cor…-isolation-economic-ruin/ It's interesting. Been wondering if the realistic solution is to just expose everyone and assume that either immunity will be developed or a cure found. ” Problem with that is; you end up with both a lot of people dead, or the health system buckles and people die from inability to access hospitals.

Quote from Casp: “and that our civilisation isent ready to face the consequence of our economics impact on biodiversity and climat. This crisis could be the stress we needed to start really changing our civilisation and adapt us for the futur, increasing local resilience. ” I agree. This is a wake-up call that our species really needed. The markets keeping countless wild animals caged in filthy conditions, the rich people across the world demanding rare animal pets and parts, it all needs to stop…

  • Quote from Ghiznuk: “Sure, but Age of Empires only has three African factions (Mali, Berbers, Ethiopian), whereas we have 4 human factions and 8-10-12 non human factions (depending on how you count them). Our Vodoo Vampire army was made to be the one inspired by the Dahomey / Yoruba and « vodoo culture », so that's where the Gbeto should go, it's their « true house ». Also, I think the brutal, bloody short range / raw strength fits that army more ” Fair enough, I don't know enough about Middle-A…

  • Quote from Karak Norn Clansman: “Age of Empires always was wonky on historical accuracy. ” It's not so much wonky, as trying to fit history into a competitive game (not too far away from what we are doing). But they have made steps recently. China got Block Printing, and Mongols got the Steppe Lancer. Quote from Ghiznuk: “Well, the book is already a bit crowded shooting-wise, we already have the magic hunters and the fire brothers, and most of the cavalry is shooty, plus regiments of bowmen. Als…

  • Well, while Deinotherium is certainly specific, to anyone who does not know the beast it does sound generic. Two pretty common terms put together, makes it quite easy to interpret any large mammal to it. (Which the "therium" part helps with, as most people know that is what most prehistoric mammals are named) Meanwhile Mastodon conjures very specific imagery; of ice, snow and tundra. Not what you want for an African army. Also, on another note, is there a chance of there being a Gbeto-like unit …

  • raw That's FANTASTIC! I was actually thinking of coming back and looking at this again, after playing some of the African civ's in Age of Empires 2... Also, are you still undecided about the War Mastodon's name? Because Deinotherium is a good one, and it literally is the animal you need. It's a relative of the elephant, but different enough that it looks fantasy-esque, it is MASSIVE (one of the largest mammals ever to walk on land) and it lived in Africa. What more could you want? deinotherium.j…

  • Perfect! I think you can sit back on your laurels for a bit and enjoy your work.

  • UD may have misused it, but they are still using it. You colud try to get around it be calling them Cataphracti, rather than Cataphracts. On that, small detail, there are still uses of the word Hetairoi instead of Somatophylakes, like in the unit upgrade cost. Also you might want to specify that the Toxotai get poison only on their bow attacks, not in combat. Just to show it's the arrows not their swords that are poisoned. Other than that it looks good. Would probably take me some time to point …

  • Looks like we are getting new giant models as well haha! warhammer-community.com/2020/0…post-1fw-homepage-post-1/

  • Quote from Scylla: “Thanks to the two of you I'm working on an update with an extensive changelog. First, here are a few thoughts and questions. Oh! The Makhar Lance is clearly based on the same historical weapon (represented here in Rome 2 Total War) but gameplay-wise it's much more interesting than my halberd-that-wanted-to-be-a-light-lance. Here's our new Xyston! How should it be priced for characters and R&F models? FieR + Devastating Charge look like a mighty combo on paper. I don't unde…

I use the "goregrunta" mounts as mine. But they need a bit of work to remove any evidence of the rider.

  • Quote from Sander: “ Can giants be placed in a unit or form a unit with one of our characters? I mean: a bsb with swiftness banner and 3 giants is more than sweet. ” No.

  • Personally, I am doing mine as an Assyrian Siege Tower, but with a dwarf modeled inside poking his head out. That way it's clear what is going on, but the model isn't impractical (something I have to reign in more... stupid spears...).

  • The 2nd one. The models around it are basically supposed to climb inside and man it. You can imagine them pushing it, then climbing inside, or it being machine-driven with all the dwarves sitting inside at all times.

  • No giants for Barrow Legions?

    Tyranno - - Barrow Legion

    Post

True. I am not vouching for it being good, just still on-theme. (I mean, have you ever wandered through a Nordic crypt and NOT found colossal spiders?) Personally if that is the case than it shouldn't gain extra armour, due to spiders being less armoured than scorpions. Instead the venom can be amplified, or something else spidery? I really feel Barrow and Terracotta would be better off as separate books when the time comes to look at UD. Then much more creativity and detail can be applied. As w…

Quote from Chronocide: “I feel strongly that the Barrow Legion rules are under picked because they don't add anything to characters (while removing mount options). Should totally grant a Plate for some of the Barrow Legion characters (or just +1 armor). ” OIP.h332ZSHTCnMwyZPm42FaiwHaHa Ta da! With so much extra inspiration for Draugr, I am shocked Barrow Legions is this... eh. Also I think the Tomb Scorpions might be giant Spiders...? I dunno, that's what it seemed like to me when I saw they wer…

  • Quote from Firthunands91: “I'll just place a regular sized Dwarf in a 50*75 base. With big boots (D3 stomps after all). ” @ZardukZarakhil used a Giant Mechanical goat with a Howdah during a fun tournament that was... pretty close in-theme to what the idea of this expansion was about. He might be able to tell you where he got it as it was a pretty sweet model.

  • Alright I have had enough. This stops now. I advise all of you to get back on to the relevant topic, or this thread will be locked.
