Indeed Nippon is a very high quality Homebrew, and this has been recognized by top management long ago. If ever we consider some Homebrew AB to be incorporated as official (most likely not as an 18th faction but as a Supplement, at a similar level as Askland), I believe that this one will be high in priority. If ever... However, before this happens, there are obstacles to pass. Whenever we make anything official, it means several things: 1. the document has to follow T9A management directives; t…

Calling me? Wondering if we could reintegrate @piteglio inside T9A team. @piteglio, Would it be acceptable for you to duplicate your presence, both as Veil of Ages, and as T9A official? Our previous stance of hard divide between team and business has been softened recently for people out of top management.

Here is the updated considered icon. the-ninth-age.com/community/in…7e775a13a0f85f69547b626db The inspiration is indeed an engineer's gun. The idea was to replace the current logo showing a pair of guns, which looked very "Empire". (Hidden Content) Quote from Fleshbeast: “I would be keen for something more like a rotary canon or something that says “weapons team” ” Any image which could be inspiring? It must be simple and easy to recognize, since the icon will be tiny and black & white.

  • Not that much interested in the gaming supplement, however I loved to get a background supplement! Having Archwizards is great! Especially the lore which suffers no rival during the same turn. Arcane Collaborators is interesting, with the idea of collaborative magic. (Hidden Content)

Quote from piteglio: “i'm always impressed by the amount of work you do, Ghiz ” Actually, @Ghiznuk only mentioned what he does for translation. Besides, he does an impressive work on Social Media, in French, English, maybe Russian and Dutch I suspect. Additionally, he works in the Background Team. Then he promotes T9A in Belgium and Cote d'Ivoire. Not forgetting the development of Homebrew covering many cultures in Africa. Finally he engages daily in multiple positive conversations in the forum.…

    Post

Some early T9A documents were translated in Korean, even one poster. Then the translator was enlisted in the army IIRC. Korean has been dropped before 2.0. Portuguese was investigated as well, but failed to start. There is no "target" by top management, only benevolence for all languages.

  • Quote from Karak Norn Clansman: “Volunteer readers should optimally be native English speakers (or speak it fluently) ” Beg to disagree, as a non-native English speaker myself. Throughout my Navy life, I have noticed that lots of British accents are hard to understand, and the same goes for accents from parts of the USA, as well as Australia and New Zealand. Reversely, English spoken by non-natives can be surprisingly easy to understand, by native speakers as well as non-native speakers. For THE…

That's not the reason. When the book is nearly ready and not much will change, it can be provided to translators, so that the translators themselves scrutinize it and participate to the ultimate clarification in English.

Quote from tuba hero: “Do you know something about when will it be released? Hours, days, weeks...? ” At the moment, it is not decided. When the decision is made, PR (myself) will announce the imminent release, and the actual release will be made some three days later. The interval will be used for two things: ultimate lectoring and pre-release of the last-but-one version to a few privileged. -=- Compare to opening a restaurant. • Q1. In the past the army was built around a hierarchy of knights: Aspirant —> Realm —> Questing —> Grail A1. Hierarchy is supremely important. Peasants should barely be able to fight, while knights should be formidable foes. Q2. In the past Equitaine was the land of dragon slayers and monster hunters with only access to Horse-related mounts and monsters (Pegasus/Unicorn/Hippogryph) would you like to see this expanded? A2. No need for fancy mounts, when Equitaine is the legendary kingdom of might…

  • The benefit for me is to have my sole playing partner at home - that's my son, who usually works far away as a sailor. However, I am as professionally busy as usual, and don't have that much time to devote to T9A. Still, we managed to play eight games. However, I lost all of them . All but one 0-20. Most of them before turn 6. One of them after two and half turns. I guess I need to work less and practice my gaming skills more.

  • Fluff in The 9th Age

    Calisson - - Background & Stories

    Post

Quote from Chronocide: “how does Magic Resistance work in a fluff capacity? ” Unfortunately, all the explanation I have read or been provided were unconvincing. Telling that the opponent distracts the magic-user does not apply well to an augment spell launched at 36" away from any foe. Also, how this distraction works in the case of bound spells remains a total mystery. I concluded that this is just a game mechanics badly supported by fluff. -=- Quote from Arturiki: “How accurate is this summary…
