  • Quote from Zwei: “Yes. My main problem is, that i dont want to field a model for mainly 1 ok and 1 bad bound spell. I think that a wizard-master cosmo + Casket + book of dead if played with infantry is more than enough and i think - if we want to play our monsters - really need that cosmo-master. 3 Dice for Touch the Heart + Attribut to heal 2 HP on a monster draws enough attention for the enemies dispel dices. 2 Dice for Ice&Fire and/or 2 Dice for the casket is in my opinion the best usage of 7…

  • Quote from Zwei: “But not only is Fates Judgement simply bad in the non-boosted version, its also bad because his spells are bound-spells. If i want a powerful bound-spell in addition to my master-wizard, i buy a casket which also got channel and another nice effect against enemy wizards. ” I don't know if you had a chance to check the list I posted on the new Thread I started ? But the reasons I included an Ark of Ages, Crystal Ball and a Casket is that combined they can really wreck an opponen…

  • Don't know if anybody is interested but the above posts got me thinking, So, I posted a list under a new Thread.....Skeleton, Colossus List. Which reflects my views on how to Include the lesser used units in a list of this type. Please check it out and post your comments / views, No need to be gentle !!!

  • Quote from whitebeard: “It would help a lot that the colossus gains channel too, ” Not for me. It would increase the cost into Sphinx territory which would not be good. Maybe Master with Crystal Ball, Casket and Scale Colossus might strike your fancy ?

  • Quote from Koller: “Hey guys I'm working on a list with 2 Scales of destiny on Colossus, but I wonder are they even worth it? They can fight for sure and the spells are okay, but what is your experience with them and magical setup? Thanks ” Quote from whitebeard: “I have played one some times, and every time I play it, the more I like the colossus! But one is enough I think, with one divination master and the scales you have really nice spells! ” Myself, I quite often use 2 Colossus ( 1 with Sca…

Quote from duxbuse: “For me its also a thematic thing. I like seeing ranks of troops representing an army. Its the very reason I abandoned warhammer 40k. The release of the imperial knights to me was ridiculous, Your entire army can consist of 2 models. That is obviously the extreme, but I think shows my point, of I like to be a general commanding an army, not a pilot flying a ship. ” Off Topic I know so Apologies to everyone ! But this made me laugh. I gave up 40K circa 30 months ago. However, …

Don't know about the Seekers but both lists are under budget, 5 and 7 pts respectively. Question should be is why on Earth does neither Thane have a Pistol ? Maybe they don't want a Flash in the Pan in the Sporran Area, but still, always thought the Scots could take it !!!

  • Quote from DanT: “Marshals! Talk to me about reiters. In your imaginations/visions of the army, how do these guys fit in? What do they do? What is interesting about them? What battlefield roles do you want from them? ” I like them in an ALL Cavalry list. Normal Build 2 x 6 Brace, 1 x 8 Repeater Gun. Provides the necessary mobility and firepower. However, I am glad that they where limited to 20. More was imho unfair on opponent. Inf Lists, Have a role but personally feel that other choices in the…

Quote from Pellegrim: “Or a combination of the two. ” Not a fan of either TBH. Would it not be easier to just buff Core Infantry ? Say........ 1) Core Infantry get Objective Secured a la 40K. 2) Restrict Line Formation to Core Infantry Only, and reinstate Combat Res Bonus for Ranks whilst in Line. This should encourage the use of either more and/or larger Core Inf Units.

  • Quote from MountainBuns: “I think we both agree on the limitation of the baby carno. Monstrous inf and monstrous cav are hit and miss in most lists and armies. Without these targets the baby functions poorly. You suggest heavy chaff/support. Assuming a vet, It is a 550-600 point model (w/ frenzy and is possibly your bsb) that must choose between offensive capability and defensive lines due to magic point allowance. You say people need to equip it in a way that allows it to function as heavy chaf…

  • Quote from bolard: “as i see it, the carno alpha is indeed way overcosted. it should go down to 460 points for all the reasons stated above. But Starfall shard should go up the same amount. The problem with what happened is that the shard got a big discount to encourage other models (i e babycarno and tauro) to make use of it. As we have seen, nobody takes the shard on either a tauro or baby carno because it is still too expensive for them. a second thing that makes it bad that way is alpha carn…

Whilst I will not dispute your views I hope that I can answer at least some of them ! Quote from Dancaarkiiel: “They're "bad" for various reasons: -Frenzy+Fearless making them unreliable and inflexible, ” In gaming terms, are 2 Baby Carnies less reliable than an Alpha who has to hide for most of the game due to your opponent fielding 2 Cannons ? I could also say that having 2 units v 1 Alpha can also be more flexible on occasion. Quote from Dancaarkiiel: “-4 attacks on WS3 Agi2, but with BF and …

Quote from Agrem: “Quote from Doug_L: “I stopped playing with the alpha after a few games. He will never make much use of his big damage output - everyone knows how dangerous he is, so his main targets just... fly away. The poor guy is condemned to fighting infantry or chaff. In that case, 2x taurosaurs are a much better points investment. Plus, against most monsters or characters a taurosaur still does a pretty good job of zoning as well. ” Have to agree with this. I really like the model and t…

Quote from AutumnLeaves: “Yeah it's scary, but 780pts before any equipment or magic items is an awful lot. ” Yes, expensive, but expensive does mean overpriced. Quote from Eymuster: “I don’t want to loose MW, but I don’t see how it will get any cheaper otherwise. ” Myself, I would not agree with any price reduction. If only that any such reduction would transgress into Baby Carno territory thereby further reducing the already limited options ( that are actually fielded ) in the Army book.

  • Quote from Stygian: “My best idea for core which no one else liked haha was to limit scoring almost entirely to core units. This would probably mean changing what secondary objectives and scoring is.. But fantasy gamers don't enjoy the scoring aspect much. Anyway I like the current system more than any other idea I've had or seen. ” Fully agree with you !!!
