  • IMO the greater issue is not with platforms but with meatgrinders and other (I hope) glass-cannon damage-dealers our troops will include (hulks, darkshard drill, maybe disciples inside PB and ratwolves in Giant Rats). Enemy will kill them on turn 1 as they are instant VPs and most dangerous models at the same time...

  • They might not have option to refuse HumanRatshields What worries me however is cost of such solution. If we force our enemy to wound a high res/arm warplatform and remove a R&F model instead it will be almost as expensive as direct Aegis.

  • Quote from Altao: “How about different way of protecting some units (like war platforms)? Like "ward save" that in case of successful save result with r&f model kill(s)? ” Here it comes: Quote from JimMorr: “Damage dealer defense mechanics. We need a mechanics that will increase damage dealers survivalibility without increasing their cost. Hence we need something that will redirect attack against R&F rather than stop them. Example 1: roll d6 for each hit a damage dealer receives. On 5+ the a…

  • I never said that they won't like it. You just can't sell a background that is a mockery of Old World. But it is no longer my problem, I am a free man now. Maybe it would be good if Art followed that path, adopting more frivolous style.

  • When you accept that our background is a collection of jokes, funny adaptations and puns on classical literature, Games Workshop and pop culture it becomes bearable. We have WDG talking about their emotions, UD fluff delivered from perspective of Velma Dinkley and now George Kamitani dwarfs. While I got rid of the duty of actually trying to sell it to oldhammer players I might actually enjoy it.

Rats anatomy is different - they have knees hidden higher. I decided to keep this feature instead making a human with mouse head: skeleton.gif sIYiKWS7OXd7IFqnzmlkyirceeXXX3QsiFZ_WsHJZvW2pEERn0rY3cyiFznq0flrbwk5a_BQ1rdXLzLV6QnVrdsPIkDHcR5TeRU2ZOvaKLtqmLSsUAOUfOU5QAcePMyyi_hOiRwmDRU the-ninth-age.com/community/in…3e9eddbafe9fed9c4e2cf7570

  • I really like the Fires of Industry (X) mechanics from ID book. I wanted something similar in our book - Darkshards being a secondary currency when creating an army list. This would allow to keep army structure simple and would provide developers with options to create a book with multiple playable playstyles while avoiding the trap of creating unwanted synergies between components intended as cornerstones for different playstyles. E.g. we could get three catapults but if it consumed most of the…

Yeah I know, first time trying fabric. Collar is problematic as rats have no shoulders or neck really. I will work on it.

  • I feel jealous about two things: - Fires of Industry (X) - almost exactly the same mechanics I have proposed for VS book (darkshards as secondary currency for army building) to allow VS having different playstyles. I hope this will not be unique for ID, as having point limit and secondary currency allows much greater flexibility. It is great design. - Cluster munitions is like chain lightning our lightning cannon should use...

  • Skaven used to be one of the most versatile armies. That is why our current state with a single playstyle makes me really sad: I believe VS are one of the armies that suffered most on transition from WFB. Not in power level but in number of options players have. For me the most important would be making different playstyles fully competitive for our army. Which playstyles should that be is actually secondary issue. Most important one is to give players a choice...

  • Quote from Aenarion43: “I mean, yeah? That's how literally every organization works. ” Again it is perfectly OK. If project establishes a feedback mechanics for community. Otherwise... well.

  • Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Also, damn straight we don't want people with "their own visions". ” I understand that perfectly. However in your previous post you were suggesting that if someone has ideas how the army should look like the only way to provide feedback is to join the Project. At the same time joining the project is impossible for such person. That is why I used phrase 'untrue'. The reality is, Project has rejected so far any feedback. Lack of honest communication with VS community has …

  • @WhammeWhamme what you say is simply untrue. You cannot apply and get access to any decisioning. Or even to feedback. All those positions are occupied (some of them are hidden... 'A group of external experts'). You can apply only to some slave labor with no influence on anything like layout or translation (if you've got skills required). Story of VS ACS is long and sad, filled with backstabbing and rage-quitting. You do not want ACS with own visions (like senator @Eldan) or those who would organ…

  • Quote from JeroBeam: “Very, very sad. And a big shame for the project. ☹️ ” To make it clear: project if run by a group of volunteers. Their work and effort is great. I understand how lack of resources could affect the Project ability to deliver book when 2.0 was published. The Project selects path that they view as best for it. Over the last two years Projects chosen path and my vision have become increasingly different to the point at which I noticed my idea became direct opposition to Project…
