Quote from Dain_II: “Quote from Chronocide: “Don't forget that there is a fundamental difference between rockets and missiles.wsmr.army.mil/PAO/wuaws/Pages/Rocketsandmissiles.aspx ID have a rocket launcher, not a missile launcher. ” Of course but I'd never considered nomenclature to be an exact science for the T9A; Imperial Rocketeers. The models I've seen so far for the battery more resemble missile launchers than a rocket launcher. But I admit that is quite anecdotal. Regardless this fundament…

Quote from Vulgarsty: “Is hate speech or threats etc black magic? ” Not totally sure there, but I've heard swear words refered to as curse words. Swearing is sometimes called cursing. Hate speak would probably be along those lines.

Quote from Vulgarsty: “Is magic just not understood technology - in which case it exists in our world already - at least to some people. ” I had a friend that was big into magic and that sort of stuff. He said that even a moving speech qualified as magic because it had power over others. Was never clear if he meant that or was just dodging the question. But it's an interesting concept, that rather than social skills, that we're subconsciously casting spells on each other every time we influence …

Quote from Shlagrabak: “The denizens of T9A probably don't see a sharp discontinuity between them as we do, they probably both appear as different means to an end (even though magic seems to only be practiced by a few). ” Magic isn't consistent in it's separation from science. Furthermore, misunderstood science is often mistaken as magic. Though for reality, if you can consistently cast the same spell in the same way by repeating the same conditions, then the spell is science. It's technology. P…

Not so much T9A, but hard a similar conversation regarding Pathfinder 0-level spells. The basic "create water" spell that clerics and druids have dramatically alters geography in the respect that cities no longer require natural water supplies. And the ability to detect alignments rather dramatically alters the concept of an alignment.

Here's one. Why does fantasy always seem to take an either or approach to science and magic? Like if I can use magic to harden or sharpen objects, I could bypass the iron age entirely.

Quote from Arturiki: “Quote from Chronocide: “that would be the British. And it's called that because, due to secrecy, they told their crafters that what was being built was a "tank." ” That's if you're referring to modern tanks. The Australian Lancelot de Mole offered a design to the British authorities in the early XIX century, but da Vinci already design a fighting vehicle which looked very very much like a tank. ” lots of history has similar concepts. • Quote from Sidereo: “Quote from Chronocide: “Anyway, regarding the Tainted blade. If you don't use venom Sacs and piercing Spike, then you leave the door open for those two to stack your tainted blades. ” Would you say that is good or bad? The stacking wouldn't be that problematic, wouldn't it? 5+ Poison attacks or +2 AP is nothing that uncommon, I would dare to say. : ” Good question. Don't know. Would probably depend on how it paired with other things it had access to. Main point was to mentio…

  • Sake of argument regarding complexity. What if none of the summoned daemons had manifestation access? You could entirety remove the manifestation pages from the book. Then, you could reintroduce some of them as cult specific upgrades. Not all, as DL only need the full set because they don't have normal magic/mundane item access. Could also add some cultist specific manifestations.

Quote from Marcos24: “my only gripe with the game is orcs and goblins being able to mix with humans dwarves and elves in an army/kingdom. It really changes the character of typical orcs and goblins which I really dislike, makes them more “human” to me ” Like a moral issue with them being too human? Killing orcs becomes murder sort of thing? I like the idea that the kingdom works with what it has. If it has a mixed populace, it would have mixed forces.

  • Quote from Kapten Kluns: “ They are a weird unit for sure. Not slow but not fast, sturdy thanks to high def and res, but vulnerable to high output units thanks to their "think it was @Chronocide who put it so well" T-shirt defense of 5++ ward only. ” Thanks, but I can't take credit there. 5+ save being a "T-shirt save" is a 40k slang thing. I think it comes from the Catachan in their Rambo tank tops having a 5+ save.

  • Quote from AlexCat: “Quite a certain conclusions from my last games trying new concept: 1. Hoarders suck, at least for their cost. Slow and matchup dependant for this price. 2. Imps just dont. You can have fun with them but they totally can not compare with other Core choices (even with RDPS heavy list). ” On the imps, they do stand out as the only DL core with innate incendiary ichor access. Against flaming units, they're probably better than Lemures as a tank unit. I'm curious regarding ID, ho…
