Quote from wombat: “The players who went heavy on Sand Stalkers are not doing well. ” Yeah, ID is pretty low point wise. Considering its a new book (so players have less experience against them) and all the fuss about some of its entries, I expected them to have better results.

Quote from Ezekiel57: “For example the list of Guy (IHdarklord) seemed to be a big mistake: he got 3 points in 3 games for now, which is absolutely not representative of all UD listes but contribute badly to the UD average results. ” The points so far are: * Alberto Perez * 52 * Ivan Diaz * 35 * Martijn Koch van Koningsbruggen * 35 * Guy Demeyere * 19 * Ivan Begovic * 19 * Frank Buist * 18 * Pendi * 18 * Pablo Prelates * 16 So its not one player bringing the faction down, instead one player is a…

  • things are not so binary. Higher res but lower armor means this option would be better in games where the opponent has AP 4-6 attacks but worse against attacks with good STR and AP. For example, Res 4 & armor 4 is better against toxic attacks than Res 3 & armor 5, so a KoE player who plays commonly with his VS friend may prefer such an option, while someone who plays against ogres will favor the higher armor option. So different metas make each option more or less interesting.

  • Napteshi is no longer, but the nomads who served them long ago have managed to survive and prospered in this harsh land. When the Kings of old call their servants into service, these men are ready to fulfill oaths made centuries ago. I find that one of the most intriguing aspects of UD is the fact that it is a "living" faction of undying persons. How the curse of undeath could affect such a nation is really unique and interesting to explore. What motivates them, how they perceive the passage of …

Here is a link to the resuts by codex: The Ocho UD is pretty low ranked (15/16, just over dwarven holds), but point wise its not doing incredibly bad (8.8 pts avg). Since this is a team tournament, the role the faction is playing in the different teams matters a lot. If UD is being mostly used as a Shield and taking the worst matchups, then 8.8 is pretty good. If it is not, then 8.8 is low.

Quote from echoCTRL: “I disagree. KoE does have training and has developed a better weapon then what some of the Dwarves, Elves or EoS has developed. KoE isn't going to be a backwards nation that refuses innovation. They will be a nation which is developing it's technology differently to other nations. This weapon is an "instead of" clause. As in: "Instead of" developing Plate, Cavalry Picks, Guns, Repeating Crossbows, Gladiator Weapons, Executioner Blades, Infernal Weapons, Aspen Bows, Sylvan W…

Quote from echoCTRL: “And, half of what makes the weapon so good is training I believe. ” The problem is that this is not represented in the rules. Currently it implies that KoE have master craftman that can make Great weapons that are light as a spear and as deadly as a Greatsword. An example on how to represent that the wielder of the weapon is what matters is the HbE Swordmasters, who have the Sword Sworn rule that implies the swordmaster is skllled. For example, if questors had "Master sword…

  • Quote from Fontetas: “a core unit with the Ambush rule is impossible ” I would include _Elite_ in that description. I suspect that if Miners where normal dwarves stat wise they could be ambushers in core.

Quote from Marcos24: “@Folomo KoE will not be “lagging behind” EoS but rather taking an alternate path ” So KoE will technologically rival the Empire with their Steam tanks & black powder and the Dwarven smiths with their Forge guns & flying contraptions? I knew that some players liked Gundpowder and cannons in their KoE army, but I really hope this is not true. I would prefer KoE to be a faction of Heroic and Pious knights. Quote from Klexe: “the biggest critic of ID was too many special rules.…

Quote from echoCTRL: “Looking for the ability to remove Bastard Swords from the army. I am not sure it works. I had to edit the Special rules of both Knights Forlorn and Knights of the Quest. ” TBH, the main problem I see here is that this weapon indicates that Equitane are better at forging weapons than Dwarven master craftmans, the skillful elven smiths and the Technological advanced Empire of Sonnstalh. Equitane has made a weapon that is lighter than anything those factions can make, but also…

  • Quote from Stygian: “Just please no 0-1 or war machine restrictions and it's perfect. ” This. Just make the internal balance better and Grails will be less used as a result of this. All books needs less limitations and more interesting alternatives.

First, I would like to point out the main problem of the current KoE army. - High speed army + high breaking power –> Good on the hands of experts, bad on the hands of the rest - Skew lists –> all KoE armies are high armor, high movement, expensive models, making them RPS. - Linear progression –> Similar stats and equipment, which results in many dead entries As a general comment, this book doesn't solve any of the big problems. It adds a lot of cool ideas, but the army will be just as frustrati…

  • Quote from Bretboy84: “I hope that koe army book is clear, less complex and fun to play TO ALL, not just for ELITE. ” Yes! I hope this too, and this is the main reason any future KoE books needs to be made from the grounds up and not just be KoE 2.2++ What I find incredibly frustrating is how basically all discussions about the future of the army and the Full army book redesign all end up in "The same book as we have now, but stronger". tired.png This would make sense if the current version was …

  • I don't think cross army comparison between what already exists is productive, but an important discussion about where the power of the army resides has been presented. Ryma knights are strong knights, but their army has little support for them and mounted HbE characters are not common. KoE knights fall on the other extreme. Pretty meh knights with really strong (character) support. Having Strong knights + Strong characters + Strong support is not likely. On which elements do you think KoE shoul…

  • Quote from echoCTRL: “Something about this army allows a higher than average success rate in the hands of skilled players. ... It is hard to say we are going to make a trade off to limit top level players but empower low level players. ” High movement, easy scoring and breaking power is what I have heard good players point as the strengths of KoE in their hands. Movement is the hardest phase to master, so high movement makes it much harder for new players to do well with KoE. Getting flanks is a…

It was much more brutal than I expected. I initially though the goblin line would hold a bit better, but the unstoppable UD army just smashed through them. Still, the gobbos got 8 relics, which was better than they had initially hoped for.

  • Demons are the extreme example of specialist. I doubt any other army will go so far. KoE currently has the opposite problem, where most of the entries are really similar and similarly good against many targets. Something in between seems pretty feasible.

  • Guys, we are getting lost on the minute details. The tree is blocking the forest. If we want a LAB that has no dead entry, all entries need to have a clear role beforehand. After each entry has a clear purpose, then we can start brainstorming ideas. For example: Knight 1: Steadfast breaking. Knight 2: Anti-cavalry/fast. Knight 3: Anti-infantry. Knight 4: Anvil. Knight 5: Chaff, Anti-chaff. Knight 6: Elite (JOAT). Knight 7: Targets of opportunity (bunkers, warmachines), flying, "glasscannon" Infa…
