  • Rengöra gamla miniatyrer

    Mad 'At - - Sweden

  • Quote from TTGH: “Looks great, mate. I have been struggling to get enough contrast on my true metallics. Largely user error I am sure but I recently invested in some Velejo Metal Color paints. Yours look great and I was wondering whether you also found the GW metallics a little lack lustre? I also love the texture you have achieved on the cover of the book. ” Thanks man, glad you like it! I was very happy with the texture on the book myself, so I'm glad it is noticeable Vallejo Metallic Colour i…

Finished up a Prelate, which was discussed on the first and second page of this blog. Quite happy with her, though I think the purple should have been a little brighter and a little more red. 30758-2a23a30b-large.jpg

  • And now the prelate is finished. But it really has been a couple of slow weeks 30758-2a23a30b-large.jpg

  • There was an army on the Swedish scene long ago that used converted GW giants as proxies in the army, managed to dig up two pics I took of them. Could be an inspiration: P9010981_zpsa90a53f3.jpg P9010983_zps6f031309.jpg

  • Quote from Henrypmiller: “kickstarter.com/projects/kingg…vzsELfwNyjEyYORAVVNMSQOpY Awesome one for some EoS or DH minis. @Mad 'At if it reaches the last strech goal, there is even a hat maker ” Might just have to back that... If only for that neat female bard, but if the hat maker is unlocked I'll definitely get that one too xD

  • I'd be happy to let you use any pictures of my mini here. I post all of them in the Painting League Mad 'At's Painting League 2020 Though making this a news item is probably a good idea @Calisson.

Quote from DanT: “Given your painting standard, and that my hunch would be that EoS is towards the bottom of the pile, that is probably a pretty fair race ” Fair point, though I'll probably get distracted and paint endless numbers of giants before I finish all the entries. Also, I think it is highly unlikely that I'll ever add a steam tank to the army, so I'll guess that one will get a boring design

Quote from DanT: “@Mad 'At I think the EoS LAB should prioritise making all the unit entries you've painted super cool ” Are you saying that I should paint up one of every entry so that they all get super cool rules?

  • Looks stunning already! Nice work with the airbrush, the skin looks very natural. Awesome conversion too

Quote from MasterSpark: “Hey Mad! I just read through the scroll about your army and the thought of you going all in on every model in an entire army such as this... that is a special kind of Mad. Not blaming you though, the end result is worth it! What's next on the block? Got a list you're working towards? ” Hi MS! Long time, good to see you again My goal has been to push myself with this army, and at times it does feel pretty maddening. I have a concept I'm working towards, rather than a spec…

  • Also, just uploaded another episode of Paint Desk Ramblings, this time with @EdSteiner and a chat about the Grand Companies of the Mercenary States. youtu.be/aF_NH8zps8o

  • Thanks for all the comments and kind words! Quote from TTGH: “Really exceptional painting, bud. I appreciate this will be a very rough estimate but how long do you think you spend on a typical rank and file dude? ” Quote from dan: “I was wondering the same thing. Your productivity and quality are unrivaled, I’d believe you if you told me your full time job is painting your army 40 hours a week. ” During the corona times I've been able to spend a lot more time painting. On average, I'd say I spen…

  • Looking great and disturbing as usual Man, I am really starting to miss going to tournament and seeing your creations in person

  • Quote from goodbyekiss: “I really like how the whole unit comes together and how seamless it feels with different dwarf, halfling, and human models. So cool. ” Sorry, forgot reply to this even though I meant to. Very happy to hear that the mix of species comes across as seamless, it means a lot In other news, the unit is now finished: 30570-54a80172-large.jpg 30569-ed681316-large.jpg Also finished some models for a Skirmish warband: 30567-40beab7d-large.jpg 30568-b968ad1a-large.jpg

The second Heavy Infantry unit is finally completed! 30570-54a80172-large.jpg 30569-ed681316-large.jpg Man am I glad to have gotten that out of the way. The "final touches" too way too long. But I am overall happy with the result. The banner came out nice I think, although the green could have been a little bit brighter (first time basecoating an EoS banner with the airbrush). Would have some some details differently (some poses didn't come out that great with the shield attached), but I'm still…

Thanks for the comments! Quote from Locklust: “Good effort, I really like how you have done the armour. I've always only smashed silver then wash with black, I might change my ways! ” Glad you liked it, it is one of the areas where I put the most effort in. Still not entirely satisfied with the result, but it's getting there

  • Loving the warband, very characterful!
