  • Quote from DarkSky: “Your second post is just cherry-picking. A rank on monsters doesn't mean a rank "because", but on infantry it actually means a rank, because. You are mixing up rule requirements and "intuitively right" rules, just like you want in order to defend a point, which doesn't make any sense. ” Yeah Monsters always have a full ranks, just like a full rank of infantry. But they're able to do things a full rank of infantry cannot, and even an incomplete rank. But I think this is more …

  • Quote from Ghiznuk: “Yeah, it's what I wanted to say « Volley Fire gives you Shoot in Extra Rank if you are in Line Formation ». I mean, that's already how we say it while playing, so how come it's not in the BRB. ” Because it didn't get implemented before the rules freeze, along with about a million other things we could have changed but didn't.

  • Quote from Baldin: “I dont mind young vs older Orcs. But Feral Orcs are way different to regular Orcs to me. Feral and thus much more primitive makes the fluff very strong to me ” I don't see why they need to be described as "more primitive" they're just different. Personally I'de rather see that instead of them being young orcs (because that's stupid) they're just a different group. To use a religion analogy - Iron orcs worship at the church of iron - Feral orcs worship at the church of feral -…

  • Quote from Firthunands91: “But the description of the item states "including conditional applications". ” That just means it applies to conditional triggers. ie. the attacker has a flaming axe, they've got an Aegis (2+, vs flaming) then the model with the pinchin protection would get the 2+ Aegis save.

  • Quote from nantuko: “Not a big fan of round bases either and it could be handled via single LAB where you specify the number of stomps for each monster. Some very heavy ones (or with la ever bases like 100x100) could still keep the d6. ” Stomps aren't the issue with single model units though.

  • Quote from nantuko: “I think I agree that this game is moving more and more towards a skirmish game. The abundance of light troops including monsters and single models is overwhelming. I think the right solution to make infantry still shine and at the same time don’t nerf monsters too much is to give light troop to all monsters (ie no ranks and therefore not able to disrupt steadfast) and change thunderstomps from d6 to d3 which can be used against anything but gigantic (give the possibility to …

  • Quote from SnakeEyes: “From my understanding each successful to-hit roll would cause one Strenght 5 and up to four Strenght 3 hits. ” Correct (assuming no other modifiers are present). Quote from SnakeEyes: “The "respectively Armour Penetration" part sounds a bit weird to me. ” Keep an eye on the Errata for an update at some point. Quote from SnakeEyes: “Do both the Strenght 5 and Strenght 3 hits have AP 2 (half the model's) or do the Strenght 5 hits keep the model's full AP of 4 and only the St…

  • Yes, provided you cause one or more unsaved wounds on each casting.

  • Quote from Idum: “Quote from theunwantedbeing: “That's an intriguing concept. ” This is how I implemented this concept in the Tsuandan homebrew (where it means to represent a turncoat or foreign agent, and cripple or push the balance in the player's favor rather than assassinate characters). I find it extremely difficult to balance for it to be interesting without being OP. ” Took me a bit to find that.... Linky link for anyone curious Having the Hidden Agents stats and equipment be entirely rel…

  • Quote from Wesser: “How about this case? Hellhounds with Omen (below house) wants to charge Chariot (below ruins). You can draw a line from the units, but no single model in the Hellhound unit have LOS either due to angle or the building Opponent claims he can charge the Chariot. I say he has no LOS. Who is right ” None of the models in the front rank have line of sight to the enemy, so a charge can't be declared.

  • Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Assassin: Deploy this model only in an enemy unit without Flying. They treat it as friendly but it will not make attacks against your models. While attached to an enemy unit, it has the same Advance and March rates as that unit. At the start of any one of your turns, the Assassin may leave the unit; from that point on, treat it normally. Otherwise, at the start of any round of combat, you may have it join any unit of (list of infantry units) that it is in base contact w…

  • Quote from Orion: “How does Know Thyself from a Deceiver interact with EoS Locket of Sunna? ” Locket of Sunna swaps stats, then when it's time for the Deceiver to attack Know Thyself is applied.

  • Quote from EBD: “In the post you quoted I said that I thought that a local cap was the most reasonable interpretation, so I obviously agree that it shouldn't be considered a global cap. The point I was trying to make was that I'd consider either alternative (local/global) to be a more reasonable interpretation than the one presented in the example I quoted. ” I was more just clarifying how the rule works for anyone who isn't sure. Quote from EBD: “With the current wording I think it's quite obvi…

  • Quote from EBD: “Quote from Eisenheinrich: “c) Range (+6") -> Range (+6") -> Range (+3", max. +9") = Range (+12") Option c) results in the lowest value, so this is the correct order (in this case, you ignore the range modifier from The Conclave). ” This example doesn’t make sense to me. Either +9 is a global cap, in which case the added range would be +9, or it’s a local cap, in which case the added range would be +15. I’d have to agree with @Nicreap and others that a local cap makes more sense …

  • Quote from Arturiki: “I understand your reasoning about power, but I don't understand how goblins would provide any helpful function in an army moving them to special. To me, they would just disappear from the scene. ” Yes but why?

  • Quote from Gingersmali: “Quote from theunwantedbeing: “Here's a slightly out there idea. ” Well its definitely out their Sadly goblins do not compete with special choices like gnashes or trolls, so they would get taken even less. It would take many many many buffs before this was the case. ” Why less and why would they compete? They aren't a combat unit so don't fulfil the same role. Quote from Gingersmali: “I did once suggest a special goblin unit called goblin ankle biters (or some gobliny nam…

  • Here's a slightly out there idea. 1. Add a new core unit that is identical (same stats, point cost, etc) with the following downgrades: - Shady Gits are a maximum of 1 - Mad Gits are a maximum of 1 - Creepers can't be taken - Maybe no Banner Enchantment 2. Move the current goblin unit entry into Special. Mostly it's a psychological difference for the player making the army to tweak how they view goblin units.

  • Quote from The Beninator: “does this mean it could turn 180 degrees and “pursuit” in the opposite direction of a fleeing unit and still catch it should it roll higher? ” No. It only applies during the movement phase.

  • Quote from Casas: “I'm confused with that "respectively Armour Penetration" ” Going out on a limb here but it's been used to mean "apply this rule to the following thing as well" Quote from Casas: “Does it mean that you get F/2, AP/2 [F, AP]? ” Yes, although it's worded very strangely. Quote from Casas: “Also, "the model's Strenght, respectively Armour Penetration" refers to the Courtesan of Cibaresh, or to the enemy R&F model? ” The Courtesan. That's the owner of the rule and when a rule re…

  • lets see.... ---------------------------------------------- Army model rule The bigger they are... is on a separate page. Columns might potentially solve that, it would look better and no need to worry about alphabetical order since the rules aren't long enough to require that. The spacing between the Army Model Rule subsections feels a bit too close together, there's space to spread them out a bit more. That or the sub-heading needs to be centralised as well like the heading title. It would loo…
