  • Hi guys, Below is a feedback form link for the event. If you get a spare minute or two can you quickly fill it out to help us improve and grow on providing events to the UK/Ireland scene during this pandemic! docs.google.com/forms/d/1IjOIf…WIwHahYNZPjyBQOB69_c/edit Also a quick thanks to everyone for being so easy to work with as a judge during the event, I hope everyone enjoyed and hopefully we’ll have another one soon!

  • Yeah they’re not really built for their combat output. Make excellent chaff in aggro lists though with scout and vanguard. Playing them at etc 2018 was a lot of fun and then afterwards with a rush list with cowboys and monsters

  • Yeah they only have 2 throwing weapon shots per base

  • Can a unit of disciples of lugar march after they rally, due to having feigned flight?

  • Quote from Grimbold Blackhammer: “I've tried for years to pull off the Flaming Breath of Corruption trick and I've not made it happen even once. Perhaps my opponents are clever and see the combination coming so they dispel it but from my perspective, it's there on paper only ” You can build one into a character in this book and the previous version so this is how I’ve used it most. But having the option of giving a breath weapon or making the immortals have a better save leaves the opponent with…

  • So this evening I played the 4th round game for Universally Baffled 1 with my Infernal Dwarf list. This round was against WDG with a block of feldraks and 2x feldrak elders which are problematic. The rest of the list, some chosen knights, hounds, warriors, Karkadan mounted lord and a sorcerer On shrine. These elements of the list didn’t overly worry me as alchemy or my combat units can probably deal with them. overall the game went well with the spear block getting lucky to break the feldraks af…

  • Oh that’s really interesting. So they do gain flaming for sure? Wording certainly doesn’t lead to that conclusion so good idea to clear it up in next update.

  • I know that it 100% works with volcanic embrace and did in the previous version of the ID book also. Unsure as for the daemon one but from the wording of the acid blood I don’t think so as it just states the model that did the wounds takes a toxic hit, it doesn’t say the fly makes a special attack with toxic attacks

  • Quote from Traumdieb: “Quote from Cam: “Cheers, thats mental. ” Actually it is a gift and drawback at the same time in my view. But they enhanced it so its one of the many points where someome put to much iceing where it is not needed. When you give the chosen of lugar the breath of the brass bull. Flamme toxic attack plus an additional hp on a chariot with a 4+ ward save. But the chariotboy is for me best with one spell since he costs not much more than a normal chariot and adds quick silver la…

  • Have made some small adjustments to the list I posted above. I have used it now for a couple practice games and 3 competitive games in a UB event. Scores so far from the UB event have been: WDG: 3 VC: 16 VC: 20 Leaving me so far with an average of 13 points per game and in 8th place out of 36 players so far. Next round I face more WDG. After the event I plan to tweak the list a little to the following: 465 - Prophet of Ashuruk: General, Wizard Master, Path of Alchemy, Obsidian Rock. 350 - Prophe…

  • Also probably worth mentioning the potential of running the breath item or occultism on lugars guys you get a rerollable str 3 ap10 breath once opponent is flammable which is always very useful. I’m also by no means trying to say immortals are bad, they’re my favourite unit in the book (since the previous version) so I will continue to use them for sure.

  • Quote from Casp: “How could they be similar in durability with def 3 compare to 5 No parry, No wound max on 4+ Armor 0 compare to armor 3 ? seems like a lot of difference. ” My thinking is with great weapons: 4+ armour on immortals v 5++ save on lugars 1 attack on immortals v 2 + a grind on lugars Lugars also have easy access to divine attacks if they need and move faster. Can choose to have feigned flight when it suits or be fearless if needed. Also they can be str6 ap4 if you don’t take the gr…

  • Quote from Casp: “Do somebody try immortal spam ? I just read the new book today ^^, and i discover immortal rules. Ouch this is pretty incredible. I play EoS and often with a death star of Imperial guard with great weapon. for 23pts per model. they do an incredible work. But here for only 26pts you got an unit bodyguard and great weapon, but far more better than IG. Move faster, wounded max on 4+, leadership 9, parry, aegis against fire. If i was playing ID and got model i would definitly try s…

  • Quote from Traumdieb: “Dont think avoidance should be the way to deal with a 350 to 600 pts unit. Also they march 12 with agi 3 they are kind of super humans in a dwarf army with addons. With gws they kill at 20 a rock auroch even without character or flammeable. No fun playing against them. Sorry Mcdonnel sounds rather like a Scotsmen then Irish. ” ah yeah I agree they’re too strong I’d like to see them nerfed so immortals are more appealing from an internal balance point of view. But for some …

  • Quote from Cam: “Did you just get called British James ”

  • Quote from Traumdieb: “I really like the britisn understatement, that a unit with up to three attacks (or 2 attacks with Ap3, when activated) and a grind attack with divine attacks and reroll to wound (assuming you make your opponent flammeable) with a simple flamming banner, which pretty much is the only unit to gain divine attacks and reroll to wound that easy, is not downright overpowered. Also I think I have read from a post of Shako that they were not intended to have kadim manifestation. W…

  • I have now played another game with the list, this time against VC (double horror, double coach list). Game went well I shot off a coach T1 and then he hid all his toys so we stood off. Disciples ate another coach thanks to divine attacks after it charged them. Overall it was a fairly uneventful and steady game which is sort of how I want the list to play I guess. Disciples seem far better than the immortals still in my mind so I expect them to change or at least jump a bit on cost with the firs…

  • Quote from ferny: “I think you could probably force the point more with a slightly different list set up. You've got double rockets (the correct choice ;)), but besides that relatively little shooting. No core blunders or flints and no gunnery teams. The lack of small arms fire means while you threaten big stuff (but at low range), you don't force blocks. ” Yeah perhaps some more small arms fire helps but it’s still difficult it threaten an opponent when you’re move 3/9 most single model stuff O…

  • So I have been playing ID the past two years and I’ve started writing a list for the new version of the book. I’m playing about 2 games a week on UB (in various events). This is where I started: 490 - Prophet of Ashuruk: master, alchemy, general, Talisman of the void. 295 - Prophet of Nezibkesh: Adept, Pyromancy, Book of arcane mastery. 320 - Vizier: Bsb, Shield, Talisman of Shielding, Mask of Ages, Banner of the Relentless Company. 752 - 28 Citadel Guard: Full Command, Flaming Standard, Pistols…

I still don’t understand why you cannot parry with an infernal weapon anymore? It’s gone from some kind of demonic infused type weapon that was unique and cool to being just a halberd with +1 Armour. It’s a shame. Seems also some of the design team didn’t even realise making it a one handed halberd would take away the parry, so maybe it’s worth looking into it again?
