  • Radian you are of course free to do so, but personally I think we as DE will experience a RENAISSCANCE of Dathen tactics, modelling & painting, and background stories. I have always enjoyed your insights and passion, so I hope you will stick around I also do not agree on the secrecy. Even if this was the case in earlier times, we as DE at least have from all sides (ASC and LAB) tried to be as transparent as possible, while still giving the design team the safety and isolation to create something…

  • Makes sense! Elven players should also learn not to panic and be over-fixated on who is the most powerful elf and 'they have that tool etc.' As elves, let's just focus, be patient, and have trust that it will all work out.

  • Could be a good idea Peacemaker, it you could think about it as an 'Elven Trilogy' with SE / HBE following later and DE indeed being designed as a unique elf race. Gives not only context to DE in T9A vacuum, but in comparison to the other elves as well. @Giladis what do you think about this 'Elves in T9A' information / general directions during launch of DE book?

  • It is still being designed but went from mechanical to internal playtesting phase. So ironed out to an even better state. Although art and full background will likely not be finished as soon as the slim army book, LAB and background will do its best to also provide community with background context of the new DE in T9A at around the same time of release. This should also help to understand the rules and designs in slim book better. But could still take months, so more patience needed. It will be…

  • I think you will all completely love the new DE book. It's radically different, but feels very DE, and still accomodates all different styles of DE. LAB takes a lot of effort to listen to the ASC and also direcly venture here among you the community as well. The only thing we would ask is to remain open minded, and do not focus so much on comparing to other books, former DE books etc. Focus on the internal options, synergies, and cohesion. All personal doubts I had when first reading the book ca…

  • Quote from GSbasic: “Hey guys, I would like your feedback on something... I’m in the middle of rebuilding my DE with historical figures of Ancient Greece and probably will have to supplement with ancient Roman models as well to create diversification amongst the models. Historically spears were almost exclusively used, and halberds weren’t invented until much later, would it bother you if an opponent was playing a unit that was clearly very different than other unit but had a spear as a weapon e…

  • Quote from Arkalak: “Hi all. Here is a picture of an old friend that had a little refresh for joining the battlefield. I'll ad more good pictures in situation and a few background if I find the inspiration. However, he looks to be a good choice for a cowboy hunter like lord drakon created and will je a good manslyer with the new book. I'll enjoy to play the new one ;-)31098-b984583d-large.jpg ” WOW! I love this conversion a lot, and I have the same model for my Lord Drakon personalization. So I …

That's where they belong, and not in some box to then maybe put them out in some round for a little and then back to the box. I mean, seriousely? Wanting to play infantry armies and then putting like 3 giant based jellyfish on the table, and that's it? ” On this note - what's stopping you from modelling the Leviathan's base in a way that would allow you to put the infantry unit…

  • Quote from da_griech: “I DID NOT READ THROUGH ALL COMMENTS ON THE PAST 10 PAGES!!! That said, I was a little shocked when I read the ideas of a transporter in the scroll. I prefer to put my infantry army on a table, nicely painted rank and files. That's where they belong, and not in some box to then maybe put them out in some round for a little and then back to the box. I mean, seriousely? • Hello there, I had some difficulty with visualizing a gigantic jellyfish as centerpiece in my army, but I realized how I will see the Mist Leviathan. Most important element of this unit, is that it transports my expensive elite but fragile infantry into enemy lines. I have to say, a very innovative and cool addition to close the gap. It is the mist that creates this 'cover' and it is a sea creature. You have a 100 x 100 base, so a lot of room to really model something unique and thematic in your…

  • Hello all, I loved the series of old, where four players started a new army together from scratch, and worked towards a goal together throughout the year. A recent of example of such a group a Tale of Slow Painters. Now I want to start my own. Interested in starting a new army, and building/painting it from scratch or basic level, send your interest here, and we will form a group of 4 persons doing this together. With some luck we can post our progress on the forum / in the Scroll as well. For a…

  • Touche! Especially the last comment helped to visualize the big differences between EoS and KoE again! EoS is all about the synergies and buffs with tools such as altars, characters, orders etc. KoE do not need this synergy as they are the prime of human kind: knights that train all their lives for warfare. The position they had in medieval warfare. Individual tanks of nobility. I would definitely include lightning reflexes for all attacks with a lance then imo. Can't you just field them with Eq…

  • Thanks for in-depth comments Sir_Sully, some good points. What about lightning reflexes on the charge for all KoE knights as part of the blessing, or re-rolling 1's to wound to negate the rubber lance syndrome? You can never get raptors, and upgrading the horses to such extent might be strange. What about making the movement of your knights M9, as HbE also has. You have the strength, protection, formation. With general increase of to hit, movement, rubber lance syndrome, I guess you already grea…
