  • Personally I would like to see an Augment spell, then it could be swapped out with the Lammasu's Witchcraft spell to avoid the janky interaction with Magical Resistance. I think the spell definitely needs to do something with fire, help the unit grind, and maybe do damage in an indirect way. I like it when Hereditary Spells interact with an army's core rules and ID have loads to pick from, so with all of that criteria how about this: Infernal Infusion: (Hidden Content) Interacting with Incendiar…

  • Quote from Giladis: “@Serwyn I would say DH, KoE and OK. That way you have SA and HE as S tier magic armies, VC and UD as A tier due to natures of the army. VS, DE and DL as B tier with special focuses of expertise. Everyone else C tier, KoE and OK D, and DH E tier. ” While I am not the biggest fan of tier lists for a variety of reasons, based on the existing books I would personally place SE along with KoE & OK in a tier. Being placed in the same tier as armies such as EoS & ID seems off to me.…

  • Greetings Forestborn; The forgemasters of the Infernal Dwarves have been working hard since the ID Beta's initial public release back in May and their labours have now born fruit, the ID LAB Beta2 has now been released! Please take some time reading over the new update and give us your feedback from a Sylvan Elves perspective. As always, playing games against an updated book often reveals design desicions that aren't perfectly clear on paper, so please remember to temper any critiques with some …

  • Since the unit moved in the Movement Phase all restrictions & benefits for moving are applied. It still can shoot in the Shooting Phase unless it has Move or Fire (such as most artillery weapons), and still suffers the regular penalties for moving and shooting to its to-hit rolls unless it has Quick to Fire or some other similar rule.

  • After having recently completed the data entry for Sylvan Elf tournament lists that have been used over the last 8-9 months my first impression (without crunching any numbers) is that Sylvan Elves are currently enjoying a healthy variety of list types. SE lists had roughly an even split of elven "guerilla" style lists, spirit heavy grindy lists, and "combined arms" lists featuring a healthy mix of both sub-factions. There was even a small set of players still using shooty avoidance lists in team…

  • Uploaded B16-B28 B22/B24 was grayed out and didn't have a link to any lists so I was unable to check it. Other than that I believe that completes the B series for Sylvan Elves. I will get started on the C series next week unless someone else steps in. Cheers!

  • Uploaded A1 - A9 I'll try and finish up the B series by the end of the week

  • Daeb Hereditary Spell

funkyfellow - - Dread Elves (DE)

    Post

Our archers had advanced to a perfect position atop a nearby hill overlooking the Daeb spearmen but before they could loose a volley upon the enemy an unnatural scream erupted from among their ranks and as though possessed the unit charged towards the waiting spears. Some of our archers collapsed before reaching the lines with blood pouring from their faces, the rest were then skewered upon the Daeb spear wall and were slaughtered to the man. • I'm excited to see some Ancient Dragons show up at Ocho. I've been using one since October and have enjoyed it quite a bit. I found they work great when supported by a list designed to include them, though I have yet to use it in any kind of high level play.

  • Uploaded B3 & B1 B2 Was crossed for incorrect point sizes so I didn't bother with that one. After doing B3 (LBM2020) I compared the lists with B9 (Luxemburg Bash Masters) and noticed that they were same. Was this the same tournament?

  • Uploaded B11, B9, B8, B7, B6, B5, & B4 Shout-out to the guys from Art of War: Bristol for the lovely formatting, it made data entry a breeze .

  • Uploaded B14,B13,B12, & B10. B11 was the a bit big and I'll try to tackle it later.

  • B15 done, I will try to get some more inputted later, I have been far busier than expected lately.

  • After some theory-crafting I tried to make the nastiest ID list I could think of. Here are the results: (Hidden Content) I've played against the old ID book quite of few times over the last year but I have never played using it. With that being said if I ever learn how to use UB may I give this list a whirl just to test it out. I feel it takes the best parts of my EoS & SE lists and smashes them together. It's hard to-hit, fast, tough, has powerful magic, and is incredibly shooty. Here are a few…

  • One idea I plan on experimenting with in the future is to add March & Shoot to Sylvan Longbows and reduce their AP to 0 at long range. Only Sylvan Archers would gain a benefit (at a significant cost) from this change, allowing them to be more mobile and to push flanks. Since the long range damage output of Sylvan Longbows would be reduced by this change it would lower the avoidance potential of all the Light Troops units with Sylvan Longbows which would then warrant a large price decrease for th…

  • Greetings Forest Born; With the current world wide situation making it difficult to get games in against the new ID army book we are currently collecting feedback from the community about any options available to a SE army to counter an ID army or its units. Which units, character options, and tactics can we use to lay low these fiery fiends? Please avoid any discussions in this thread beyond ways a SE player can counter an ID army, use this thread for any other feedback you wish to give regardi…

  • One concept I have been experimenting with in my personal homebrew is a change to Master Archer: Instead having the best of both worlds (Either +2 to-hit or +2 AP) I changed it to simply be +1 AP & Lethal Strike. I then added Accurate to Pathfinders and removed Sylvan Sentinels entirely. So instead of trying to balance two separate skirmishing archer unit entries you have a single unit that fills the role of both. This version of Pathfinders isn't as effective vs their current targets, reducing …

  • Quote from Giladis: “Quote from CariadocThorne: “Any background you could share on the nature of the relationship between the Forest Spirits and the Elves would be appreciated. ” Imagine an elf lives in his house, the house is nice and when the conditions are right a wild cat sometimes comes inside causing bedlam, but just as quickly leaves. Then one day there is a vicious storm and the cat is thrown by the wind through your window net into your living room. The cat is bewildered, wet and cold s…
