  • Thank you for taking the time to answer my question, very happy to see you have a solid plan for the overall project and maintenance! Quote from Arkmut: “2) We made our architecture as flexible as possible, because of the huge variety of rules currently in T9A. We can make virtually any special rule, thanks to our scripting engine embedded inside the game. So for armies I'd say we're quite flexible. For phase sequences, it's a bit more complex because of the multiplayer dimension of the game, bu…

  • LUA, and XML for the UI if I recall correctly. It's accessible directly from the game and there are good chances such a dice rolling tool already exists in the workshop. That would be a good idea if there is a way to "bind" an effect card to a unit somehow and not forget it is in play. A turn/phase button would be a good way as well to add semi automation, comparing the turn a card was placed on the board to the current one and highlight it accordingly (green for "played this phase", yellow for …

  • Impressive! As previous posts mentionned Sunblade will most likely be the first adaptation of such a wargame as T9A and is very promising. I have a few questions regarding it and its maintenance once released: - Do you have (approximate) milestones that you can communicate? Like alpha/beta/release. - How flexible are core rules (phase sequences, maximization rules)? Armies (organisation, rules, units and profiles)? - Will the T9A-related updates be made by you or would it be in the hand of the T…

  • Several aspects would be complicated to implement I believe. Not impossible, but complicated. In all mods I've tried (not a lot) rules were not linked to models or game board or other element: you get a virtual sheet for rules, then the board, the pawns, and the player makes the link between them all just like IRL. Applied to T9A this development would mean to embed a profile, conditional application, line of sight interaction, external temporary effects (spells, orders...) to models, terrain fe…

I find it extremely difficult to balance for it to be interesting without being OP. ” Took me a bit to find that....Linky link for anyone curious Having the Hidden Agents stats …

  • Quick update regarding VR controllers for changing states: actually it's very simple! I searched around for hours, seeing if some simulated input or advanced binding could be done through SteamVR or TTS's macros and all... before seeing a "VR option" area in the TTS menu In there, just tick the "Simulate controller" (maybe that's not the exact wording - it's the very first option in the list), from there it's possible to bind the controller buttons to actions. I remapped a bit and now can switch…

  • Quote from theunwantedbeing: “Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Assassin: Deploy this model only in an enemy unit without Flying. They treat it as friendly but it will not make attacks against your models. While attached to an enemy unit, it has the same Advance and March rates as that unit. At the start of any one of your turns, the Assassin may leave the unit; from that point on, treat it normally. Otherwise, at the start of any round of combat, you may have it join any unit of (list of infantry units…

  • Couldn't the assassin simply be an entry in another category, Special for instance? Possibly with 0-X/army limitation. Could be war platform + the modified ambush rule detailed above. Of course if the character cap is not reached anyway, making the assassin not count towards it is not exactly helping.

  • I finally got TTS, just posted a comment on the VotA thread. I only went through the tutorial so far, which saw the Orc beat the Elf repeatedly. As it should . Regarding VR, so far I tried it with only default settings using the Oculus Quest with Link and Touch controllers. It feels good and is very close to the real thing, it just lacks a few tweaks with the ergonomics which I believe can be solved with dedicated controllers mapping (I'll be digging it further since it is user-end). The LoS and…

Quote from Minidudul: “Because your over interpreting the sentence "After this, follow the rules for Hold Charge Reactions." which only mean that for the stand and shoot reaction you do nothing more than the shoot (which is not the best way to write it I think too, copying the text "the unit does nothing" would have been better). This sentence don't force the unit to declare "hold" for the next charge reaction. You just have to follow the sequence of the charge phase to play thing like it have t…

Quote from Eisenheinrich: “That's still how it works. You simply declare a charge reaction after each charge, so you can for instance declare hold against the first charge, stand and shoot against the second, hold against the fourth, and flee against the fifth. ” But... What happened during the Third Charge!? Must have been terrible, yet we demand the truth! Joke aside and to bring further trivia, you resolve whatever reaction immediately be it shooting (once/turn), fleeing (no choice if already…

  • Hello all! First of all here is a new kickstarter from Zenit Miniatures, perfect for Tsuandan: Katai War Elephant (NB: their Katai range is available through this kickstarter) Now for the book itself: lately I've very busy with real life and couldn't yet test the latest iteration or update anything. The new ID book brings a lot of elements, mechanics and directions worth pondering and which I'm eager to see how it turns out on the table and where potential updates will direct it. Their upcoming …

Same issue with Wildhorns. Or do I get it wrong? ” Wildhorns & centi's are correct at 15pts, indeed mino's & longhorns should be 20pts. I see you are tinkering with shield minotaurs

Quote from Chronocide: “Quote from Marcos24: “I think since technically it would be a nerf and you would be the one hurt by it, I can’t imagine your opponent really caring that much ” Well, the main concern is that it would have an effect on mismatched bases with regards to characters. Though I really don't get why it would be innately good or bad to have a larger or smaller base. Base size seems more tied to model construction, at least to me. I just know that other players, like you, see a dif…

  • FINALLY finished my war altar! Initially I wanted the "official" GW one (to fit with the rest of my army) but it got discontinued just before so I went the conversion route. the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…54761e85b1250a0f0d6b14851 Happy with how the model turned out considering how difficult it was to get the flaggies in place!

Quote from echoCTRL: “Quote from Ghiznuk: “Ok, whatever. They can be pinned to Sonnstahl then. The thing is that I still fail to see how their playstyle would be so vastly different as to justify creating a new separate army rather than a variant. As said, Vanhu has much more potential to bring in something completely unseen before. ” Having made my own army which plays in a vastly different manner from anything else in the game, I understand this sentiment. I think building Human themed armies …
