  • Quote from Eleanor: “My personal opinion is that a mere reduction of points, while it may help, is not the definitive solution. The empire has a problem, and it is the complexity and opportunity cost of taking advantage of its synergies. ” Agreed. The definitive solution is the EoS LAB, however, that is probably going to be quite a few years off. In the meantime price adjustments are best that can be done to improve the army. It's still important to communicate larger scope design issues so that…

  • Quote from Jomppexx: “I would agree with Wombat and say that GW for IG should cost 3 ppm instead of 4. IG are mostly used with HW+Shield anyway right now so there must be a reason. Dropping the cost of GW could help but I have an alternative theory. ” You make an excellent observation on the reason that GWs are not prioritized as much in EoS. Some people appreciate the more points' efficient builds with synergies. GW IG are kind of a giant EoS hammer the opponent either stops somehow, or gets cr…

  • Quote from Mirdhynn: “Yes we have good internal balance (This is what the conceptor teams say us since 2 years) but it is not perfect: Some choices are present in every lists because we just cannot change that. There is dispredencies between IG (with or without 2 handed weapon), flaggies, artillery and characters (general prelate = knight commander > Marshall and big dependency on magic make other charaters less visible) So if conceptor team can stop talking about internal balance and study our …

  • Quote from Mirdhynn: “Yes another nerf please ! We are near the latest ranking, closer to the goal.Only 3 places to gain. Half a joke, here. ” I understand you're joking and I think a lot of players will feel the same tension. If I had to guess, it will be similar to what DanT suggested, slight price reductions across the board. I also think there will probably be a few entries that get a slight price increase for balance sake. Either way, I think it's incredible that 16 armies scored so relativ…

  • Quote from Jomppexx: “Yes a shame about the locket really, I also think it's a bit expensive. It really depends on the match-up and the meta a lot. If you constantly face ogres/WDG/SA/VC it's obviously amazing. This can be almost guaranteed in a team tournament... If you take it without knowing your opponent it can be wasted or poorly used points quite easily. Against all elves, VS, other Empire armies and such it's nearly useless. ” In my opinion, Locket is 90% psychological insurance. Even in …

  • All the tournaments since the last update, and Ocho in particular, showed good internal balance for the most part. There were of course common entries and more niche (I even saw an Artificer on horse a few times). Something I found to be interesting was that Household standard was in the vast majority of lists. It was taken almost as consistently as Steam Tank. Locket of Sunna was also highly taken, which frustrates me as I think this will lead to Locket seeing another price increase when I thin…

  • I likewise agree that big brother is not worthwhile on the repeater giant. Truth be told, I don’t think the repeater giant in general is that great. It has all of the problems of a volley gun, plus it doesn’t have 360 degree line of sight (it can pivot and shoot but unwieldy destroys its aim if it does that) and it can’t benefit from Artificers. So it ends up being a compromise between a giant and a war machine, but it’s not ideal at either role. The main thing going for it is that it can shoot …

  • I have completed A1-9, B1-28 and C1-2 for all EoS lists present and uploaded them to designated link. The only exception is that I could not find lists for B22 Crippling Rides. There may not be any EoS lists there, but I can't verify. I found the lists for every other tournament.

  • Quote from The Changing Constant: “The stank is not tall. So you can not hide behind it. ” Steam tank is tall. It has towering presence which includes tall as a nested rule. So things can hide behind it just fine. Quote from Marcus el Piadoso: “This is my list, Each unit has a name. All very fluffy. Before my Prince had the Talisman of Shielding, but I got bored of quicksilver lash and other damage spells. Now he is dying from bolt throwers. If my valiant prince hides my opponent just targets my…

  • Quote from The Changing Constant: “I don’t see why everyone is hating on gryphon generals... I use them with a fair bit of success, they just work differently than many other cowboys. He sits behind my light infantry and makes long bomb charges. If he makes the charge, probably still in the leadership bubble, but if he doesn’t, then he fails to go past the light infantry and is not in harms way while still being in position for his bubble. ” Are people hating on them in your experience? Why? I e…

  • Quote from Scorbol: “@Nerocrossius KotSg are not tall, so you can't hide your Great Griffon behind unfortunately. ” Tall is a nested rule under the Cavalry category (page 87 of the main rulebook) which KotSG are of that category--I promise I hide many things behind my KotSG. Quote from Scorbol: “Marhal, Great Griffon, Heroes heart, Paired Weapons, Shield, Basalt infusion, Witchfire Guard or Marhal, Great Griffon, Heroes heart, Paired Weapons, Shield, Alchemist alloy, Winter cloak What do you guy…

  • Quote from Chronocide: “Some good points. Though I think Gigantic models can see over Large intervening models. ” Marshal on great griffon is a large model with tall. KotSG and wagons are also Large models with tall. Unless you mean that Gigantic models could see over the screen to the imperial prince on griffon then you are correct there. However, aside from a couple of exceptions (looking at you SA!), there are few gigantic models with substantial ranged attacks to threaten the prince. Quote f…

  • Personally, if I were to try an imperial prince on great griffon I’d go full-on wild and take a prelate on battle altar too. Keep the prince hiding behind the battle altar and have the prince support the nearby infantry block benefiting from the hatred bubble with an order every turn. When the time is right have the prince fly out and strike something with the Sonnstahl+hatred. The only advantage a prince on griffon has over a dragon is that it can hide behind large category models, if you’re no…

  • Quote from Enrique: “Is there a rule that says Health Points cannot be negative? Combining Fanatical and Rage, it is a relevant question. Can we have like a twenty attacks Giant? ” Page 17 of the main rulebook states character stats can't be reduced to less than 0. The exceptions being Agility and Attack value which can only be reduced to 1. As such, the imperial giant will never have more than 13 attacks with big brother and big fan of sunna.

  • Imperial Princes don't normally go on great griffons Marshals on griffon tend to be excellent options when they're not key leadership models as that makes them less attractive targets. Imperial Prince forces the model to be the general and have less defensive options... so it's just not ideal. The common marshal great griffon combos involve ghostly guard+witchfire guard/dusk forged+dragon-gem, Winter cloak to protect both against magic and ranged attacks or Death Cheater+Shield of Volund/witchfi…

  • Quote from Eleanor: “Is the empire seen at the gaming tables, or is it one of the least used? ” Short answer: Empire has decent representation at recent tournaments. As for its tier performance in tournaments I would say that it's in the middle of the pack. EoS isn't an easy army to win with, but that's not to say it's weak. It has some difficult matchups with the top tier armies and that can complicate things and it often requires a lot of models on the table which can make it difficult to keep…

  • Another question for clarification, for an entry such as the Marshal: If there are three marshals in the list and one is a BSB, do I indicate that as 3x Base Cost Marshals and a 1x BSB OR is it 2x Base Cost Marshals and 1x BSB?

  • Quote from Just_Flo: “I checked with the army book and the macros of the analysis files. Pistols are treated as the custom choice. So as long as no light lances are chosen it is assumed they use pistols. ” I think I understand. If I where to enter 5 reiters with just pistols into the file it would look like so? (Hidden Content) I just want to ensure that I understand it correctly.

  • Quote from Shako: “Can't believe I forgot to upload this.. it was on my laptop for 4 months :(. Doesn't matter where you begin, we need it all done before RT needs the data for the next update (no, there's no info about that one). ” Awesome! Thank you! That’s how I imagined the data population worked, but wanted to be sure. And what should I do for Reiter pistol entries? Technically lance/shield is a safe way to enter it as it’s the same cost and I highly doubt anyone took any. But if we could g…

  • I do not know how much of this has been done, but I'll gladly take care of the rest. There is an error however on the EoS masterfile as there is no option for base price/regular pistol reiters. Could you post a corrected masterfile and I'll start uploading all of these. Quote from Shako: “Some hopefully more vivid example: Armylist number 1 features 2x25 Heavy Infantrys aswell as 1x15 Electoral Cavalry with Great Weapon and a 1x10 Electoral Cavalry with Lances, the result would look like this: *…
