But if these units pay for the ability to move and fire what is the problem? They pay to not have to worry about positioning as much in points and in range of shooting. And I don't see it as some basic principle of the game that units can either move or shoot. Sure many shooters have unwieldy especially in DH and EoS but many also have no movement penalty (anything with pistols, throwing weapons) and many armies field troops with quick to fire. Halberd + Handgun dwarf unit would be cool and uniq…

  • Quote from setrius: “C´mon guys!! Woolly Rhino of OK have Adv6", Mar6" and this model carry a Thunder cannon and a fatty ogre. At least give to Thunder Herd Adv6", Mar12" this model only carry to semi naked skinny elves. That is all ” HEY! We're muscular!! Don't get str 4 for nothing.

  • Quote from Giladis: “If you are wondering about one part of the inspiration behind the Thunder Herds type in Thunder Beast into Google, go to Images and search only real world stuff. Then if you show further interest follow various paleontology related links and you'll find a plethora of strange and wonderful creatures which ignited our imagination. ” As far as miniatures go here are somethings from Mierce that I liked I really like this unit as it gives lots of modeling options and is new! (Hid…

  • Very cool! Loved the fluff bit The base size is because it's a 40x40 beast driven by the two lashmasters right?

  • Quote from IntrigueAtCourt: “I see war machines deployed like this sometimes, firing to targets south of them. Is there any real benefit? -they are not elevated. (center of the model has to be on a hill) -they do not get cover when shot at if the point on the machine closest to the firing unit is on the hill (pg 63) Am I missing something? ” Well if deployed behind the hill it will block the war machines line of sight.

  • Thaumaturgy and pyromancy are the best ways to use mammoth-hide cloak if you do want to use it on your shaman. Shamanism Scarification makes the cloak basically useless so it's not worth it there. Even so, I would rather use karkadan's resilience on thaumaturgy or pyro. +1 Res is often as good and against most attacks better. Against Str 4 karkadan's resilience is better and only against Str7 it starts to be worse than the cloak. Ironfist is pretty much a given as parry is good to stay alive on …

  • Quote from Eisenheinrich: “Quote from Jomppexx: “Are models in second ranks not allowed to "slide over" in combat to perform supporting attacks? ” Nope, there are no rules that would allow that. You have to wait for the combat reform in order to do so. ” Quite cruel Came up last game when only 2 feldraks got to swing at dreadmill because one was in the second rank on the wrong end of the unit and the unit could not fit in a way he could attack due to terrain.

  • Are models in second ranks not allowed to "slide over" in combat to perform supporting attacks? I thought this was the case. Cannot find in anything about ranks with less models in them than the one in front of them and supporting attacks. I know you can attack over gaps to flanks and rear so in my view this is similar.

  • Quote from matrim: “Yeah if it's mw then it needs to be specific to a limited range of targets like (Hidden Content) This way their intended role will be very clear and no one would burn the forum ” I agree. Ogres just get to go first then in combat right?

I think it's cool. AP4 and dropping unwieldy makes the repeater gun much better. Also he is slotted into sunna's fury except with the repeater. Seems interesting.

  • Quote from gorblud: “Are dwarf runesmith (or any other model that can cast bound spells) considered wizards? The Casket of Phatep for instance says enemy wizards suffer -1 modifier to their casting rolls. Would this apply to runesmiths or other casket of phateps? ” If his profile says he is then he is one. If not he isn't. I believe the runic smith is not considered a wizard.

  • Quote from rzmoz: “The riddle could be represented more abstract in the beginning of that game similar to the KoE prayers? Something like: If the controlling player "choose" to answer the riddle (s)he gets version A of the Lamassu. If not, (s)he gets version B. It's basically to keep the riddle mechanic in the game but make it less intrusive during the game. The current rule is not only complex - it alters with the normal game flow which is significant. So a suggestion could be Offense/Defense m…
