I mean, your complaint seemed to be about the fires of industry limit. That limit is there for gameplay reasons, to prevent spamming and all that. One way or another, that limit will be there, because otherwise the game becomes unfun.

Quote from Jarec: “What I don't get though, is why the most industrial race has such a limit in their machinery? Or rather, I think the game balance and their background is creating a big gap in the suspension of disbelief for me. ” Question for you, then: if the fires of industry limit was instead changed to be a percentage based limit like every other book (which would result in you fielding the exact same number of things, just now you have to calculate the percentage instead of counting the …

  • If you are going to be using GW ogres, then I believe your best value is the old battalion box, if you are able to find it. It contained 6 tribesmen, 6 bruisers, and four bombardiers. One of the best things about OK is that almost everything in it is an ogre. You can easily convert any basic ogre into any other ogre very easily, be it characters, mercs, whatever. I have a full set of characters, and they were all made from basic models. the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…2e06af40657878b68bd02ab2a th…

Quote from Mr.Owl: “Quote from lawgnome: “I mean, personal skill does also come into play, so.... ” ” But on a serious note, it is something I see all the time whenever any form of auto-hit comes into existence. Pyromancy? Scorching Salvo is OP vs. SE. New ID? I saw complaints about cluster munitions being unfair against SE. I regularly see SE being brought up as the "this is unfair against..." example. Maybe your experiences are different?

Quote from Mr.Owl: “Quote from lawgnome: “SE has a problem, and various teams such as RT are looking into that problem. But it is not a problem that is specific to ID. ID wasn't designed specifically to thrash SE. There was no "let's get em" mentality here. But the tools they do have cause SE problems, just like other armies with similar tools do. It is an SE problem. ” Oh thank god! I played SE versus Justin Burgee's ID and I got 20-0ed by him. I feel better now. It's not me, its SE. Right? Rig…

@Bogi Thank you for the responses. Quote from Bogi: “Yes please blame SE. ” SE in particular has had problems with being very weak to things like pyromancy and auto-hits, because their defenses are not geared toward that. ID happens to have those things. But so do a lot of other armies. SE has a problem, and various teams such as RT are looking into that problem. But it is not a problem that is specific to ID. ID wasn't designed specifically to thrash SE. There was no "let's get em" mentality he…

Quote from Bogi: “With other armies ofc. You created units that shine against some armies while being very poor against others. ” Quote from Bogi: “I don't think you need more examples. Two is enough to highlight that the army causes issues at tournaments. One issue is too far already. ” You do need to be more specific, because otherwise it sounds like baseless hyperbole. "You made any army that is incredibly RPS!" "Against who?" "Against armies that you are RPS against! Figure it out yourself!"…

Quote from JamesMcDonnell: “FWIW I never expected a perfect book first time around (or ever, it doesn’t exist). But there’s genuine face palm mistakes in the design of this book that lead to questions about how it was built. Maybe it’s design by committee issues where everyone built a thing and then together it didn’t fit the goal. But with the strict design guidelines this shouldn’t be an issue. I feel that the guidelines were skirted around or bent in places which caused some problems. Maybe i…

  • Quote from nflqt: “I add to what I said above the following flat: according to the following sentence of article 3 of the T9A licence, I recommend to @Chevalier Rouergue2 to remove the logo of the Ninth Age from the cover of its modified version in order to better distinguish its work from υn official content of the Ninth Age. ” That is completely unnecessary. The book already is distinguished by saying "Illustrated by Chevalier Rouergue". That meets the needs of Section 3. Seriously, it is fine…

  • Quote from lawgnome: “Way #2: if you are using the book for yourself, do what you want with it! Print it, color on it, modify it, add pictures, change names, use it when potty training your new puppy, put it together in a big collection of other books, whatever. Just make it clear that you have changed it. Way #3: Do you want to sell the book? You can! A three simple rules to follow: 1) the book itself needs to be unchanged (this means you can add pictures to the front and back of the book, but …

  • Oh, that's cool. I think there are going to be some monsters that no longer like infantry stomping with that rule in place. Turns some fights from "long slog held together by steadfast rolls" to "wait, I lost?!? How?"

  • Quote from Villon: “we can remove armour from ID and set res to 3. Remove pyro as a path and give Druidism Remove handguns and give bows Remove all artys Set all adv move to 3 and march to 9 even on monsters Remove all special saves. ID are not special anymore Maybe this changes will be better for RPS. Nah, im jokin laser resistance is useless, because no one knows what a laser is ” "In the grim dark future, there are only.... Elves"

  • Quote from Chronocide: “Had another thought. Instead of Infernal Plate and Kadim Manifestation, can we call them "Laser Resistant Plate" and "Laser Attacks"? ” *Sigh*

  • The unit is flavorful I like the riddle mechanic I have no practical experience with any of the new book. That said, I love the idea of the lamassu. It is unique, it is flavorful, and it looks like the kind of unit I would make use of. I do not want the riddle mechanic to be dumbed down. It can be changed if needed, but I do not want it butchered into something unflavorful in the pursuit of "less complexity".

@Slayer Zabojcow You are missing part of what makes stories work. Heck, you are missing some of what makes life work. Sometimes people make suboptimal decisions for their own reasons. Magic may be really strong, but part of what makes a DH dwarf a DH dwarf is that they have decided, through their culture and their experiences, that magic was not for them. Part of the divide between ID and DH dwarves is that ID dwarves feel that DH ways are too restrictive, while DH dwarves feel that ID dwarves h…
