Quote from Mike newman: “Didn’t all dragons go down. I don’t think this was a VC specific buff ” Yeah they all did partly cause they all suck.

  • Quote from Oblivion: “My opponent had three large blocks (black orks, orks and goblins),a thaumaturgy master, a pyro adept ” This is unfortunately not great for the wraiths. Both lores have good missiles that ruin wraiths. But I still like the reaper rule, if you do manage to get out of arc with that unit, they do nasty things.

Quote from Davian: “the main units of BH should be skirmishers. Or light infantry or what it is called now. The square blocks should be done away with. Only longhorns should have the discipline to work as a unit. ” At the very least this would be a super unique AWSR. All units gain light troops but retain scoring if they had it.

  • yeah not a great choice as a mount especially for a count.

  • Quote from Sander: “With the abundance of attacks that negate our shieldwall i feel that shieldwall is only there against units, where it doesnt really matter. But maybe thats just me. ” it's true for single models. Who will get either impact hits, stomp or grinds. Where as against infantry or knights it's amazing. You get parry and 5++. For me it's clear that shield wall isn't the problem.

  • Quote from elendor_f: “Blocking charges is a key part of the game indeed, but having units being "pure chaff" is one of the most boring and uninspiring designs possible for me. ” The new lab books already have a directive of "no pure chaff" so as the new labs come out I think you'll see less of this anyway. The ID goblin riders are now more expensive but can shoot oil skins etc.

  • So I've started another thread for my current expeditions in list building Once I settle on a list ill take it to my next event the-ninth-age.com/community/in…ostID=1445352#post1445352

  • So personal opinion. The Vc giants are uninspired bland and lame. The barrow giant doesn't even get lethal strike a core component to what makes barrow guard decent. I understand why they didn't make a wraith giant, but that would be super cool, maybe 4++ or 6++ vs magic. ap10 etc. res 1 makes them crappy it should be d3 at a minimum. again the zombie giant is d6 but that is very swingy, I would much rather d3+2. But even then its kinda bad with rage. YOu want you giant to run around on 1 or 2 w…

So I just watched that trailer of the "improved" things. Just wow there really seems like there is no point taking foot troops at all. All vehicles are better and stronger, flyers are super op and only on the table when shooting. The game is now "Balanced" though its GW so unclear what their definition of balanced is. Honestly my prediction is that the optimal way to play will be titans and flyers. Everything else will just get steam rolled.

  • Quote from Arosy: “From the EoS perspective, it's good to bring some champions and static combat resolution. Nothing is more exciting, than looking how this Big Demon crumbles to dust with his full wounds left. ” Perfect plan if only one monster engages, but what happens when 2 go in? Or what if they are not characters and you can't challenge them out?

Quote from Chronocide: “I'd love to field 2-3 Titanslayer Chariots as a unit, but it's capped at 1 model. My DL Core are capped at 30models. My WDG Warriors are capped at 20 models with favour, or 25 models without favour. ” Yes I agree, I think all chariots should be units, one chariot doesn't even make sense, Though out side of UD they should probably be capped at 3 models. Standard chariots that is. Chariots on larger bases can be single models. As for your units being capped, That is hardly …

  • OK so to remake my favorite character Konrad Starting base is vampire courtier - 160 paired weapons - 10 Brotherhood of the dragon blood line - 45 Extra attack for old frenzy - 30 Frenzy - -30 Hatred - 10 Blood power, Crimson rage - 120 Swords of Waldenhof, multiple wounds (2) - 60 Reduce dis to 6 - -20 Reduce WS to combat Botd - -30 Only heavy armour not plate - -25 Total = 330 Which is almost exactly double the old 8th ed points. So seems about right. Note: it was difficult to price 50% stupid…

  • Quote from youngseward: “Plus jabbers and giants dont give me the “Scourge-Free Zone” I would really like to see on the tabletop. ” At least in the aus scene I think this is worth its weight in gold. Plenty of tree men, demons, vermin demons, that need to stay back

  • interesting tweaks. Kinda like the lord set ups. Might have to try that myself. As for the zombies I guess the 2x smaller units makes scoring a bit better and if using Congo line abuses they are as resilient. As for the banners I think one stalker standard works. But both units won't need them imo.

  • King of the hill has selected a wall terrain feature. Is it possible for me to defend the wall and prevent the enemy from being "inside" it when they charge? More depth: My unit is aligned with the forward edge of the wall, this denies me covering terrain but still provides fortified position, But if a charger has to come into contact does that therefore put them "inside" the wall?

Quote from DeBelial: “But the corner placement is possible only when something else is occupying the middle of enemy unit, it not possible to do it with the monster on its own. So while I agree that corner placement of monsters feels wrong, your solution is not addressing it. ” Not at all, you can have chaff sitting in front, or perhaps they are near some terrain or friendly units and you are engaging on a flank, or due to your own placement the largest wheel you can make to contact the enemy wi…

Quote from Adam: “things in this game have good matchups and bad matchups and the main part of skill is to get your units in favorable ones. ” I hear that point, I guess what i'm trying to say is that infantry have a very difficult time influencing their match up. They have a larger footprint and more easily blocked Their movement is slower both charging as well as laterally They start losing damage from almost the first wound. so are more affected by ranged damage So whilst yes the hypothetical…

  • Quote from JimMorr: “Changing completely the game is however beyond scope of this topic so I would assume that the deep colums are going to stay with us. ” Agreed, but a rule like Envelop the flank - All RNF models in the front rank may make attacks even if they are not is b2b. This would encourage wider units as it wouldn't be totally wasted, and would help curb some silly deep units.

Quote from Adam: “But you understand that single models generally have significantly lower damage output than elite units at similar price point: compare Chosen Lord on dragon to equivalent points of 30 Lion Guard for example. CL has ~10A S6-7, D6 Stomps S6, LG have 31A S6 ” Except that they don't get 31 attacks against a dragon cause he is only 50mm wide, and if there is some other reason you cant maximise then it could be as few as a single column of guys attacking versus all of the dragon.
