    Litoperez - - Battle Reports

    Post

Very nice battle repports, I have the feeling that there is an issue with how to play the charriots and not having something that can hold on the army. You need to charge in this army to archive all the bonusess, but it seems pretty easy to zone the charriots making them not able to charge and just staying in the middle of the board doing nothing. On the other hand, cav seems to get some charges but they always end bad. You have a lot of chaff so you should be able to use your charriots more agg…

  • About point increase: i think many old players would love to see general price increase if that means better troops and less models. As i have expressed i many posts before, i am aware of many old players form 6-7ed that cannot use their EoS armies in t9a because the amount of models that is needed nowadays is huge. That is probably the resason why in many tournaments i see mostly ogres and WDG, they are easy armies with few models. Maybe this comment is more about the battle scale in t9a and no…

  • I think EoS has by far the best "backround" with tonns of possible ways to characterize your army, very nice models....etc Is our codex taking care of all of it? i think most part of it yes, that is true. Maybe as commented in other post the "motley crew", militia-inquisitor and so could be more developed but in general the codex is good background-wise. So the main problem in my opinion is learning curve + external balance. it seems that many of you have good ideas about how to improve the army…

  • I think we could use DanT hombrew basically, it is very nice. Maybe some different magical objects and in my opinion bring militia back to support unit again.

  • Quote from DanT: “Quote from Litoperez: “Quote from DanT: “Quote from Litoperez: “ ” ” ” Sorry, I am still not getting this... If the total price of the unit you want to field including command is Xpts in both cases, why does it matter how that price breaks down into troops and extra bodies? Currently, 40 halberds and 20 swords, lets say just musician on each, is 385+165=550pts. Let us say there is a discount of 1 pt on additional models, and 10pts on starting price, so now the units are 510pts.…

  • Quote from Palmu: “Doubleposting on myself YET AGAIN, but Pharaoh is something to really talk about - I can assume that a majority of UD players love the fantasy of an undead demigod leader for the army, kicking faces and taking names, but what we have right now is essentially as high as we can get with the guy - A Knight Commander/Duke with beefed up physical characteristics. About Virtues we really can't guess much at right now because the KoE LAB process is starting soon-ish and nobody knows …

  • Quote from DanT: “Quote from Litoperez: “Cheaper heavy infantry means more miniatures, i will need to rent out another apartment.....would it be possible to reduce the cost of the banner/champion/musician instead of reducen the price of each miniature?? So that we dont need always more and more miniatures... ” I don't understand this I am afraid. Can you provide an example list where you think reducing the cost of heavy infantry causes some problems and reducing the cost of their command doesn't…

  • I agree with the overpriced, but i miss here the legion charioteers and the dread sphinx. with the underpriced i am a little bit surprised. Catas and shabtis are not cheap, at all. They are just two of the few units that are more or less fair priced in my opinion. Colosus is also fair for its price as it has just 5w!! Same with the scroll, is very handy for 15 points, but is it clearly not underpriced.

Remeber that you need a bunker for the wizards, so the 18 archers are good to keep. Looks like a very interesting list, i my personal experience UD msu right now is not working very well (bad healing, complicated to buff enough...) and you not have any anvil that can hold. It would be very nice if you write a battle report to tell us how you play this and your experience with it.

You say you used units of 3 charriots as chaff. I guess it was not their main work, because it is a very expensive chaff then. How did you use them? i my personal experience 3 charriots are too weak for a unit and too expensive as chaff, what is your approach?

  • I havent succed yet finding the right proportion about unit size/buffing. Either the buffing is very expensive (altar, priests) not very reliable (wizards) or not strong enough (orders). Lately, inspired by Konrad I am also trying characters on horse (fast allocation to different troops) and medium size troops. Still challenging because most of my opponents can have units stronger than mine that dont need orders/buffing and therefore way easier to play....(for example rangers, citadel guard, wdg…

  • I am specially interested in list List #14 Mickael « Mykeul » Delmotte It looks almost like an SE army. I wonder if it is possible to survive long enough without protection for the volleyguns (no heavy cavalry/chickens to block line of sight against them) and just with a combat block. I feel very tempted to play something like this, but i fear my skills are not good enough.

Interesting list, many small units! I have tried to play with small units but i am not very successfull with that approach.

  • I think EoS internally is very well balanced. Personally i think heavy infantry is on a very good spot. But the problem is its external balance, not because EoS lacks tools but because it is very difficult to use them. In addition i fear very much the common tactic of lowering the price of our troops because that mean more miniatures and it makes the economical/painting barrier for new player even bigger..:.

  • Hi, it is Vallejo model "scurvy green". One layer of 1/3 scurvy green+ 2/3 black, general lights with 1/3 black +2/3 scurvy green, and then lights and details with scurvy green+white in different proportions. The cloak from the nighthaunt is made with the same colours. As you can see it is a color that allows the painter a very wide range of tones.
