  • Monosin will be using almost exclusively current DL units, with maybe 1 or 3 cool extra modelling opportunities thrown in Monosin could be considered almost an update to the DL book, because while each specific sin will have less options to play with compared to the full book, when playing with monosin you'll have more in-depth options to facilitate the play style of that specific sin.

  • Against ranged components, Sirens are just as defensive as Clawed Fiends? Res 3 vs Res 4, but Hard target vs no hard target, so it equals out. The proposed 12 man unit is a few points less than a naked unit of 4 clawed fiends, has the same wound pool, same resilience to shooting (but not autohits or magic), and has vanguard. Lacks scoring, and AP 2 for sure, I'm not suggesting it's better, but it does present an interesting alternative due to vanguard and the ability to flee. And the proposed un…

  • So, given the recent decrease to Sirens, would anyone consider a larger unit now in comparison to other fast assault units? Maybe especially alongside a Harbinger on Steed? With the reduced additional model price, I'd be tempted to run a larger unit and take Mesmerising Plumage for free (compared to the old prices). This essentially pushes them up to OS and DS 6, which we could then add Guiding Living Shield to push them to DS 7, and then making use of Div or Witchcraft to perhaps push it even h…

  • The Sentinel is actually one of our cheapest options to get a wizard master, while also being our best wizard master. Either pair them with another wizard master to double down on the magic, or use them to cover everything alongside a Harbinger adept are both perfectly good ideas. If using the Sentinel in a unit, Lemures are a good choice. He adds a lot of ranks to the unit, protects them from monsters and cowboys and can bring guiding mirrored scales. Don't be afraid to throw them into combat, …

  • Depends if you're ONLY looking at running Sloth units. For example a common practice was running A Sentinel and Omen, Masters of Evocation and Thaum. Then you have 3, 2 dicable, snipes which ignore resilience. Res 7+ things tend not to have many wounds, and can't afford to be loosing 2 a turn to the different snipe spells you've got on the table. I don't have exact numbers at the moment, but I imagine that Sloth list would look like: Stryxian Spirit Sentinel Omen Master 1 Big Lemure block, 2 uni…

  • I played my first ever game with KOE today, and had loads of fun. Me and a friend made themed lists for each other, based on inspiration quotes, and my friend made a Peasant based army with help from some fantastical heroic elements, like grails and a unicorn and pegasuses. But most importantly, Sir Prodigious! A big brother Knighted giant. He was very fun to play with. My friend was playing a terrocotta UD list and Sir took some wounds from an Unerring Strike, and from then on he zoned huge amo…

  • Essence of mithril whirlwind blades, or light armour shield elven cloak basalt infusion heroes heart. Both have a 2+ save, and both have some reliable Str 5 punch.

  • Quote from Chronocide: “Quote from Alexwellace: “Would a unit of 6 Veil Serpents for a suggested 354pts see play as 18 flying wounds with psudo agility 7 on the charge? ” I wouldn't field it (maybe if my hobby end of it looked really cool, but I wouldn't for the rules). In my opinion, Veil Serpents have only one role: They have Twisted Effigy access and don't count towards characters. So if you don't have a wizard character with witchcraft and don't want to die to shooting, a minimum unit of Vei…

  • I've looked over the thread again and submitted. Thank you for all the feedback. I'm sorry I couldn't address everything discussed here, but I spoke internally about what things where most likely to see a positive reaction from the RT and with that in mind I've opted to put forward our ideas that would increase list diversity, rather than increasing DL external power. The following is what I've submitted. I'm keeping a record of the things that haven't managed to be addressed and will have them …

  • Quote from Chronocide: “I still think my three are the best, of course.... Quote from Chronocide: “1. Increase Max unit size of all units - Rank and file game with an army that can't take much in the way of ranks or files. Bump the DL core to units of 40 max. Bump the 5-15 units to 5-25, bump the 3-6 to 3-9. Make our single model units into units of 1-3 (aside from the hope harvester). 2. Brimstone Secretions, Incendiary Ichor, Chitinous Scales and Iron Husk - Price and Price of Characters who c…

  • Giving this thread another poke, submitting my report on the 22nd, so come one and come all to give your opinions on the balance patch! The scope of the changes include Price. Unit sizes. Duplication limits. Category limits. Anything that affects list building. Spell casting value. I've read through the thread again, and came up against a wall, that our unused manifestations are sorta all over the place. I.E not on a specific unit, and thus I can't address them together in the way that we'd like…

  • Quote from Angrosch: “Quote from nantuko: “Sentinels - price: they are our main bunker and shooters and the price was already ridiculous for t3 naked elves but the new one with the introduction of better pyro wizards is going to affect a lot the external balance for an army which is considered tier 3 already Sylvan archers - price: this is self explanatory. Nobody plays them because they are simply not worth it. Treefather - limitation: the 0-1 limitation of any character tree in the army makes …

  • Summoned from the veil, I greet yee, and bid thee welcome. Spirits of the beyond, grant me insight so we might alter the future for the better. Tl;dr, gimmie feedback on what three things you'd like to see changed! The Rules Team is looking to collect feedback on the 2020 balance update for each army in a structured and non-overwhelming way. Each ACS team has been tasked to collect a few big concerns that have come up within their communities since the release and then forward the results to the…

  • 2021 Ogre character builds

Alexwellace - - Ogre Khans (OK)

    Post

I've thought about the above, but a little differently. Great Kharn. Rottenjaw, Ogre pistols (shield breaker), destiny's, lygurs tongue and obsidian rock. Sits in a poison pistol Merc vet unit, alongside a vipers curse, essence of mithril and aether icon bsb. An 1800pt unit, but can dismantle anything In the game when used alongside a mammoth. 6 poison ap 6 attacks isn't half bad at all, with 2 poison shots and some support items.

  • Greenfire eyes is dope, it's the only manifestation that affects the unit that also isn't dominant. A deceiver with all 3 Envy manifestations, 1 guiding, is a great model with synergy out of the wazoo.

  • I believe it was an oversight, yes. However, it doesn't actually see much play as far as I've recorded. So in which case I'd be more inclined to keep my head down and let people who enjoy a Res 7 Str 5 bird keep it, and instead try raise the miser if he needs it. I'm not at all saying your wrong, just that if we have to fight to get something changed, I'd rather push for a positive movement rather than a reduction in options. But hey, maybe that makes me biased. I'll report it anyway

  • I've been combing through manifestations, and I'd appreciate feedback on what people think could use tweaking? Looking at character points, nothing seemed out of expectations, apart from Roaming hands. Everything else I could see the use/point of, even for the upgrades I personally wouldn't take (Brimstone, Segmented shell, Grasping Probs). Looking at units, core manifestations seemed more than fine, well balanced in fact. Maybe chilling yawn is a little expensive in Lemures, but it's an Omen ta…

  • I can't think of any other example of a magic item that is available to multiple stat-lines being priced differently, apart from the Feldrak Ancestor. A EoS Marshal pays the same for touch of greatness as a vampire count. An Ogre pays the same for Destiny's Call as a Goblin Chief. Asking for Iron Husk to be catered to the Miser's resilience is akin to asking for Hammerhand to be catered to units strength values. It makes sense, but it's not really the 'norm' for T9A.

  • Non-MSU DL builds?!?!

Alexwellace - - Daemon Legions (DL)

    Post

Quote from Chronocide: “Quote from Folkienn: “I am not sure if you do it voluntary or not, but I am afraid you twist the plot ... it doesn't matter that the DL do not have infantry per se, the official communication indeed stipulate "infantry units" but obviously mean rank & file units, wherever they are infantry or beast units, and 20 models are already a medium/large size unit for DL.Just have a look at the update, our combat blocks actually benefit from this "new direction", the Succubi got c…

  • While I understand your point, I think it's a fairly niche scenario, and not the intended purpose of the manifestation. Every single character we have access to can become at least a wizard apprentice, so if you feel like you're missing out on a spear of infinity, 40pts here is cheaper than Mark of the Eterneral champion, revel in the bargain. However for wizard characters, Mark of the Eternal Champion is functionally the same as magical heirloom, a 50pt common magic item, for 45 manifestation p…
