Quote from Ehakir: “They might be cheaper, they might be sturdier... but man! 6 autohits that unconditionally wound with AP 10 at Agi 10, 15 S4 attacks with +1 to wound & ignore parry and 3 stomps on infantery? These guys blend infantry like there's no tomorrow... ” sounds like a good deal, but for 365 points you have 7 lance knights with musician dealing 14 S6, AP3 on the charge, 14 s4 lethal raptor attacks and models with 2+ as. also pretty good. bigger footprint though so yeah, ill try them a…

Quote from berti: “ I have not tried them in unit size of 3, my impression is that I would go better with cavalry or more infantry units instead. (number of wounds) even when they have different targets. ” This is my impression as well. A unit of 7 Dread Knights is cheaper and might be sturdier and deal more damage.

Quote from Exalted Champion: “Quote from Mojzesz: “and yet thunder herd has light troops and gorgons don't ” Which is most likely due to internal balance reasons and makes the thunder herd more attractive. ” This and those snake ladies probably have to be very cateful with that stare to not statue some friendlies, so thats why they move fast forward but can't change formation on a whim

On another not, on paper the Gorgons look very solid. I have never tried them and wonder how do younuse them? They look like flankers or small unit killers to me.

I feel the Obs Guard could use a special rules change but with their stats I use them as one of my front fighter blocks. They are the lawnmower for armour 3 of lower, res 4 or lower infantry while I use my Judicators to get to monsters, knights and other high armour or res 5+ units units. Imho, they have different targets to fight.

I had the same thoughts about the legate as @kangur. Not sure what will change and possibly break, but would increasing the special item allowance of a non-general legion legate fix his BSB problem?

Quote from LeXincerta: “What if the Legion Legate BSB had 6" Bonus range for Commanding presence and/ or Rally arround the Flag for Academy units? ” This would be great imo. The Legion Legate needs a little more to become a good pick for General or BSB above the TL

Quote from piteglio: “wow, so many gorgeous models! thank you all! Quote from umbranar: “Todays Submission to hopefully be featured in your game : ” oh i'd love that! however, to be 100% clear: we want to play it safe, so miniatures that go in the game must have copyright clearance from the respective publishers. some companies have already agreed to this. some others will be contacted based on your submissions. and for some other i probably wont even bother trying ; ) but fear not: even if your…

  • Quote from Happy Aspid: “Quote from GorillaConda: “For core I always take warriors. They die like dogs. Rarely do I have warriors on the board at the end of the game. No matter if I take 3 units of 10 or 3 units of 20. They die. They are too slow. Where they shine is against EoS and O&G. Dwarves and elves smoke warriors. It’s never even close. I’ve resisted taking barbarians because.... well I hate the models I have found so far. Song of Fire and Ice has some cool choices, but $30 for 12 when i …

  • Quote from Happy Aspid: “Quote from umbranar: “Our spiked shields are kind of a nightmare for DE (I play both armies). Their overal lack of AP (except maybe battlesmith rending banner militants and judicators) helps our army a bit. ” Judicators will be more than enough to clear any unit of wodg in maximum 2 rounds. One person in DH forum already did calculations for that (600p kings guard vs 600p of judicators). That math can be easily applied to almost anything WODG can field. And our units not…

  • Quote from whitebeard: “Quote from Echunia: “For the record I think halberd necroguard are actually pretty decent, specially now when they are even cheaper. For me it's not so much a power question, its more about what is exciting to play. I have too many armies to play those I don't enjoy. Super excited for the LAB, hope we get chosen soon and lots of stuff changes ” I think the Halberd are worse because of the poison attacks and lethal strike. With them you don't need to worry about the streng…

  • On a positive note, I think the project is closing in on "the sweet spot". Sure there is always something that isn't right (according someone at least) and its impossible to make the perfect game for everyone. But the process is getting better and the results are closing in on what is this "sweet spot" for at least most of the players. Adjust, learn and improve.

  • Quote from Zwei: “Quote from umbranar: “With the current changes I guess UD will shift to Terracotta NG spam for the foreseeable future. ” And thats a good thing? ” In my personal opinion: No. But as we all realized for a while (basically since the last balance patch), any serious internal balance fixes have to wait until our LAB hits.
