Great to see many new commitments for the month of March already! Nice one guys! Whilst many have been productive, some have been unproductive. This is fine! I find myself in the latter category. I listened to a podcast recently about finding 'happiness', and the crux of the podcast was that in regarding the difference between 'expectation' and 'reality' (sic. realistic outcome), one can better find happiness when you better manage your expectations. This month, I will see if applying that might…

  • Quote from Remy77077: “Quote from micdicdoc: “These look phenomenal! Do you have a link to the eBay store which stocks them currently? ” The Library link (under Goblins, as you'd expect! ) is to their actual website store, since ebay links don't stick around for long enough! If you want stuff not yet on Russian Alternative's own store though, this appears to be their official ebay store: ebaystores.co.uk/therussianalternative ” Cheers for this! Has anybody ever ordered from them on eBay before? …

@kobal, it was a good idea to add the flames then, I think They look really great, dude! The blue flames really help them pop as well! Was it troublesome to paint them and apply to the miniature afterwards? @kingreidos, nice one! These are looking fab! What remains to be done? Some glazes or just some last highlights? Yes, the drums of March are beating in the distance ... time to consider what to work on for the next month! I've not had a great month of hobby this month - is it me, or does Feb …

  • Quote from Baldin: “Just received notice that it will be fixed. 2 p.p.m is the intended cost. ” Boo! We want cheaper nets!

  • I think they can be really useful. They have the benefit of not misfiring in the traditional sense - regardless of whether they blow themselves up, you aren't going to be missing out on a turn or shooting, or having your piece reduced to a backfield paperweight if it malfunctions ... As @Casp notes, they are super cheap. I take them on account of their price and don't expect them to do much besides act as static distraction carnifexes. As is ever the case with ranged units - people are always mo…

Quote from Spacegoblin: “Mid way through Feb so thought I'd post a quick update on my hobby goals for this month. So far I've managed to get a couple of unit fillers finished for some scrapling units, some elevated bases done for my Merc Vet conversions, and 1 of the tusker riders finished, with a couple of others half way there! Hoping my Greenstuff order arrives this week so I can get the conversions started! imgur.com/a/ntDSVnn ” Looking good, dude! Can't wait for the GS to arrive so we can a…

  • Quote from Inn0c: “Looking at my options for cavalry, I keep returning to Wargames Foundry. There are simply no models as awesome as those Renaissance Knights. Since my army is still quite new , and I havent invested much into cavalry yet, I wonder if it will work to use only cavalry from Foundry along with infantry from mother manufacturers, like Warlord, which I have already gotten quite a few for, as heavy and light infantry. Has anyone done something like this? ” I really love the Wargames F…

  • Green bases are heavy boggin though.

  • Quote from SkargitCrookfang: “Ah yesssssss.... the journey into the gobbo list. My general has been the same for a while now: King, double-crown, wolf He is accompanied by: Wiz master (witch) on a wolf BSB on a wolf and banner of discipine 12 (ablative) wolf boyz with shields. It is my ultra-mobile command bunker. Often times hiding behind 8 cave trolls. I have had a great deal of success with this setup so far. ” Do you have the full list for reference?

  • Quote from JordanBladen: “Did we just become best friends? ” giphy.gif Quote from JordanBladen: “ Its an interesting comparison to what WoW did with Vanilla. The hype generated was immense, even if Vanilla was a worse/harder/different game play than later expansions. Does a less balanced / weaker rules set outweigh people wanting to go back, wanting to see how things have been updated and improved / things stayed the same? Really cool to think about it. ” Yeah, I agree, it will be interesting to…

  • Quote from JordanBladen: “The part where you put T9A is a competitor to GW is interesting dude, I look at GW as 70% models / fluff and 30% rules. Theres a reason people play their systems and not always down to rules ” I think having a world which you are familiar with (either by growing up with it, falling in love with it via TW:WH, or a mix of the two) is a huge part to this in particular. As Jordan says, it's not - I would argue, ever - really down to the rules on a majority level.

  • I think they are too savvy of the market for it to be a smaller scale game - I'm hedging my bets that it will be 28mm square bases. Because they know T9A, KoW, etc are a thing. They see the fresh and new appeal that a game like WHFB would and does get from something like TW:WH. I really feel like the writing is on the walls that it will still be a 28mm game. And you can already foresee the advertisement campaign, right? I think we will see something similar to the T9A's "Bring your armies back t…
