  • Points should be awarded! Looks like he could smash that home with a single swing

  • Regarding cyclopses, I believe they are ok in terms of pricing... but really don't like them, not what I want in a BH army. Then before the pandemy hits my last iteration had a couple of them completed by a gortach or giant (can't remember), out of need to balance my list vs flying threats, monsters and elves in general but that was by lack of a proper other answer in the army, not by love for cyclops or what it represents (or rather how it is implemented).

  • That's quite a bit of centaurs Avg 18 centaurs/player?! Although @ukrocky does skew the figures a bit there, totally more centaurs than all other lists combined! Quite good diversity otherwise. Quote from clorens: “dread elves ” True, but since it's a team tourney I'd expect they still wouldn't be paired vs. DE too much. Although with that many chariots (Luke's list) that could well work. I'd be interested to see the pairings and results, if participants think of making batreps - or even a very …

I doubt there would be a rebasing, this has not occured in LABs so far

  • AFAIK you don't need the TW:W1 DLC to be able to buy those from TW:W2, it is just that they are carried over. For instance I got the beastmen DLC in the first and it lets me use them in the second game (and third when it'll be out). I don't think there were DLC that needs to also have other DLC (beasts for instance are not the focus of another DLC, neither are TK) but may be wrong.

IMHO BH magic is very direct and primal, so Shamanism & Druidism definitely match: they can practice it by instinct, on the contrary to occultism or witchcraft for instance which would require more structure, understanding and rely on intermediaries - particularly occultism, which I picture with the caster doing magic circles with near mathematical shapes, complex rituals, forbidden grimoires and incantation in ancient language - typically what one could expect in Cultists, WDG, ID or DE (the la…

And just because I know myself and estimate at 10% the chances they'll be painted in time, the EoS regulars will save the day... once again! the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…af609ebe128a11c830202ac07

  • Quote from Eymuster: “If I’m not mistaken DT3 with 2-3 of these means they have a chance to wipe out a dragon... I think this is too good and also doesn’t make sense? Unless these are atomic Powered lanterns. DT1 doesn’t make sense for ground units too. If the role is simply rain fiery death upon enemy ground units, I would go with random movement only and keep sweeping attacks. ” These are nuclear lanterns! Joke aside, that would be a single DT(3) for the whole "terrain feature" rather than 1 p…

Out of curiosity I made a quick mockup game vs. DE, using the first iteration of this homebrew. DE better mobility is compensated through BH being beasts and having more units, which held up pretty well. The +1 to wound by itself ended up not being the biggest issue: Blades of Darag militants coupled with potentially very, very strong magic phases (altar, outcast, warlocks, BSB Adept, void talisman...), fear bubble & related synergies, and indeed ruthless efficiency on top of these... ouch! Not …

  • Quote from arnadil: “Nice. I personally like no. 3.2 and 2 the most. For 3.2, I would add that when the lanterns are spawned they directly move 2D6 in a direction of your choice. And I would say that releasing them is only possible for units that are not in close combat. That's at least my first intuition. I will have to have a better look tomorrow. ” Indeed, my bad! The limitation on the unit launching the lanterns should be the same (not engaged/fleeing/shaken). Maybe prevent too if the unit m…

  • @echoCTRL @arnadil, and everybody else's opinion is most welcome! Here are 3 + 1 reworked concepts for the Fire Rain Lanterns. I cannot settle on which one seems best and so will need your help in deciding! • Hello and welcome! As you may have noticed there appear to be less activity than usual as of late - myself included (I am 2 weeks late on my self imposed deadlines for both homebrews in my signature ) As you can see in my signature I have a couple homebrews in the works too. My advice: don't bother too much about point costs for now! The quintessential part is to nail the concept of your units, that's where most of the discussion will go. Then for pricing, slap a pricetag on it by comparing to s…

Quote from clorens: “7th? 13th or 15th maybey ” I meant SA is the 7th, BH... no clue really! If you are right I wouldn't be mad either, I believe by their skewed nature (low armour & melee oriented, most likely this won't change) are quite vulnerable to other books evolutions and new rules. For instance, if BH LAB had been made without having in mind DE and their +1 to wound on the first round that would have hurt and stayed like that for ages. Similarly when DL switched to all beasts and BH Eye…

  • Thank you for the feedback, and so sorry for the delay in answering! Pretty busy these days, I couldn't take the time to properly reply until now Beforehand, here is a bit of (hidden) history regarding the development of the lanterns (OK, it's just the previous iteration ^^): they used to be swarm-like (40x40mm base, multiple HP), had a flying random movement and were inanimate!
