Quote from IntrigueAtCourt: “Is supplement book use set in stone? Seems like a bizarre choice to include unregulated books. ” Almost all UK tournaments use them without issue.

  • It seems the response here is mostly positive in relation to "summoning rat swarms", but the mechanics concern some people. I'd be interested to hear what mechanics people think could work that allow the summoning of rat swarms, but do not provide an easy source of redirectors/chaff to the army.

  • You (and the enemy) can move "through" them. Same as Mad Gits. Move, touch, explode, continue move.

  • Quote from Eldan: “Hmmmmmm. On the one hand, I like the Res 2 a lot, it was one of my favourite suggestions. On the other hand... legionaires? Should they be legionaires? I think it implies too much professionalism for our basic throwaway troops. I still prefer something along the lines of militia. ” Imagine it is what they call themselves. They THINK they are efficient and organised legionaires.... what other people think is probably very different.

  • Will have to take myself out of this one. Good luck and have fun everyone!

  • Glad to see it worked out well!

  • Quote from Nicreap: “Quote from JimMorr: “Quote from Villon: “But with new LAB maybe is very good to touch with as much rats as possible to take advantage of new uknown rules? ” With revised guidelines in play I really doubt that additional S3 attacks from those unknown rules will compensate for taking 8S3 hits... ” who said they will be s3? The guidelines stated rats are faster but weaker/ more frail than humans. I strongly suspect we will see S or R, possibly both drop to enable the big bricks…

  • Quote from MyrdWyrlyrck: “Quote from Nicreap: “Quote from Fthunder: “Why does "big blocks in a compact battle line" go against the army concept? ” not big blocks, LOTS of big blocks. The army concept said 3-4 big blocks should be common place.Yet it has repeatedly been stated by multiple people that this is meant to accommodate lots of big blocks played tightly. So it sounds as if the number of expected big blocks has moved up substantially from 3-4. ” Does not seem like it. 3-4 Blocks is just A…

  • Why does "big blocks in a compact battle line" go against the army concept?

  • Well now they can use it without it being cheating

  • Quote from JimMorr: “Quote from skipschnit: “They don’t have the freedom to train and carry out maneuvers in the luxury of open space. ” Doesn't it mean that they should have more difficulties with maneuvers than surface races? ” More that they had to learn to move in enclosed and small spaces so are used to doing it in and around other units doing the same.

  • It's pretty disingenuous to say that being ignored/stuff being missed is the same as "people that wrote it are 100% behind it and don't want the feedback" The answer to your question is "rules we are not ready to share may encourage this", which is probably why it went ignored! It is also worth noting that this rule (and other rules in general) are being earmarked as potential places rules can be cut if things get too complex in the book. The best way I can explain this is, it is fluffy, it is s…

  • Quote from Fnarrr: “Quote from rolan: “It was not "people" as in many users of the forum, it was maybe 5 or 6 who don't like new stuff, and the same 5 or 6 argue against everything new in every thread they can find. ” Weak. Its impossible to provide any feedback by this logic. People have been pretty thorough in explaining what the faults are. It does seem like the people who wrote this are 100% behind it and don't really want the feedback. Which is fine, but then not much point of having a thre…

  • There's no such thing as too much brain power being used on a rule or aspect of the book. Maximum effort for maximum result.

  • Quote from Razon: “ Or invent something that actually promotes big block: ''VS will get new army rule called Feeding Frenzy, where they get re-roll to wound if they outnumber the opponent greatly (say, 4to1 at the start of combat round).'' Now every VS will want huge cheap blocks, because even if they do bleed combat resolution they will get some back, and allow for the other, high damage unit to join combat and actually win it. You do not write: ''Hey, do you hate to fail your charge because yo…

  • Quote from Bogi: “Quote from Fthunder: “Quote from JimMorr: “Quote from Fthunder: “Quote from JimMorr: “I wonder what will be the impact on the playstyle. I am afraid we will be using this rule for strange shenanigans rather than to streamline charges & moves. Our big blocks will be acting as redirectors... I am not sure I like that direction. ” You don't want a big unit of slaves to be used as a redirector/tarpit/chaff? ” No. Huge hordes of infantry doing the ice ballet to change enemy advance …

  • Quote from Razon: “I'd suggest, instead of that new rule (because new rules are a very bad thing, unless someone has hard proof of not being so) to change the name of this current rule and to give it to more units: Tiny: Universal Rule. The model ignores friendly units when moving in the Charge and Movement Phase, but must follow the Unit Spacing rule at the end of the move. For example, give it also to non-core giant rats, footpads, gutter blades, grenadiers. Big blocks don't benefit from it bu…
