  • Quote from SunnyD: “Quote from Cultivator: “Quote from ValourUnbound: “Two in a week! What could this mean? ” We have this, which I choose to read as it's coming tomorrow guaranteed. ” Could anyone please explain to the dense people in the back of the classroom such as myself when we actually may expect the new army book? I'm new and trying to learn the game and desperately want to play rat-boys, but I don't want to go through learning the mechanics of a system that's about to be completely chan…

  • Oooooh boy. I like it. For some reason the worse the statlines get, the more excited I am for this book Love the tunnel Stygian Overseer. Judging from the name too, they have a key link to the slave unit. I wonder if this means we'll see slaves have tunnel deployment? AFree w some other people too that the Skorchit Alchemist is a little underwhelming but that leads me to believe those two unique weapons will make up for it. My guess is the blacked out one is a reusable breath weapon and the cani…

Thanks for the memeries even if they weren't so great. the-ninth-age.com/community/in…5187ff3dabc5e588b1d84a390

  • I'd be interested to know why duplicate spells haven't been ruled out. It seems like a very deliberate design choice, and although people have already brought up the potential for this to be exploited I'm sure this will have come up during the design phase. Hearing the teams thoughts on this would really help a discussion.

I only managed one myrmidon this month, but I am happy with it. This whole army might take a while haha the-ninth-age.com/community/in…5187ff3dabc5e588b1d84a390

  • Quote from Caraxes: “I do not support the above 2 options, though Heliconids is interesting as there is a mix of good and bad, peacemakers bad is too high to overcome the loss for me. ” gimme the good and gimme the bad! It was intended to be a little polarising

  • 100% agree w the guick to fire and unwieldy. My ideas for the bombardiers would be: Base size 40x60mm Can only fire in one rank. Unwieldy, Reload!, range 24", 1 S6 AP4 shot (multi-wound d3) Base size and the shoot in one rank is a big one for me here. I'd want this unit to feel cumbersome until they get in position. That would give them a unique role in our defensive lists (as opposed to just charging later) and a tricky but potentially pivotal role in zone control in aggressive lists. The base …

  • Quote from Peacemaker: “I stated before that bombardiers could use some options. Popular idea was an option for xbows. i'd like to add an idea for throwing weapons + spear would be a cool option. Maybe march and shoot with throwing weapons as well. ” People have talked about ogre raiders that have light troops, xbows, hunting spears etc. and I think they should be their own unit, not just an option folded into bombardiers. If raiders are mobile missile troops that are designed to harass our enem…

  • Quote from The Unmarked: “I'll have them 3D printed for pretty cheap. Usually less than $1 per model. That said, I don't want to have to go back to the printer 2-3 times for the same project/model. ” What 3d files you using? Always keen to find some good rat swarms...

  • Quote from setrius: “Throwing weapons (4+) That is all ” It's not that simple though, because Throwing weapons (4+) is almost guaranteed to be met with complaints that it doesn't fit the fluff for super trained assassins. Personally fine with pistols, life is cheap to vermin, even an assassin. They go on missions knowing they might not come back, and if things look dire, need they resort to the pistol, even if it alerts the guards. But I don't think getting stuck in the nitty gritty helps here, …

  • Love these minis. Want em all, but I'm gonna wait for the LAB to be sure what can fit where. Keep the pics coming though!

I am in a jam for march, I have two primed and partially painted myrmidons (yes, only two) that I started after finishing the succubi. I'd like to finish them and either 3 clawed fiends or a hope harvester. HOWEVER I have no primer and there's no way I'm paying the extra postage haha. If I can somehow get hold of a black rattle can I will try and do one of these extra units alongside my measly offering of two myrmidons... the-ninth-age.com/community/in…5187ff3dabc5e588b1d84a390the-ninth-age.com/…

Quote from Scottish Knight: “ the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…5187ff3dabc5e588b1d84a390 ” love the way you've based this man. Proper creative way of getting that monster on a 25x50mm too haha

  • Maybe a solution to the pricing issue is to have additional assassins as an upgrade and make the character 0-1. I guess they'd be less flexible as they'd need to deploy in the same unit but I'd take that over an overpriced entry I never take.

  • VS LAB Supplements?

heliconid - - The Vermin Swarm (VS)

    Post

Don't know why this thread isn't getting more attention. Absolutely agree that we should avoid the old GW clans as our supplements. Feel like we've seen it all before and it'd be great to have more unique themes. I like the supplements that offer a novel or highly specialised take on the LAB e.g. cultists for DL. I like the idea of a supplement dedicated to an army where the Dux is general. The guidelines spoke about how the Dux shouldn't be optimal and how he leads with cruelty and coercion. Se…

  • Quote from Darock: “I´m quite sure u guys forgot to write the 'not a leader'-rule or am I wrong? ” maybe, but at Dis 5, this guy would make a trash general, even by our standards
