Those are looking sweet, can’t wait to see the whole army finished and pictured together hah

  • Quote from ArchangelusM: “Quote from Marcos24: “@Cealyne I’ll just stay here and influence the game ” The horror, the horror!! ” haha thank you for recognizing when I’m just messing around

  • @Cealyne I’ll just stay here and influence the game

  • Quote from Cealyne: “@Marcos24 Again I’m glad you can’t. If you wanted to play a boring game then you can go play KoW. That is right along with what you stated. ” Nah

  • @Cealyne I would and wouldn’t give a damn

  • Quote from Aleph Null: “ I'm fairly certain that troubadours came from all walks of life (although I'm not a medieval scholar, so I could be wrong on that), unless you're talking about something specific to KoE background. That said, if you want all your troubadours to be knights then fair dues. ” nope, troubadours were typically well educated and from the nobility in real life

  • @Fnarrr I understand that completely. My whole point is that there IS a different mindset out there that the designers are also trying to take into account. And I am being honest by the way. I personally don't care about how creative players can get with their lists. If it results in lists that in my opinion don't make sense from a background and "in-world" point of view, I'd squash it without a second thought. And I would also encourage what you see is what you get, I'd restructure and redesign…

  • Quote from AlexCat: “Quote from Marcos24: “Yeah my whole point was there’s two types of players, and likely more and the designers are trying to balance both. So it’s not one way or the other ” One type of players is tournament players.Second type, please, specify how do you see them and what kind of balancing is needed for them? Quote: “Then perhaps a better named internal topic where top players can aim for top player discussions would be to consider. A topic with the title "General discussion…

  • Yeah my whole point was there’s two types of players, and likely more and the designers are trying to balance both. So it’s not one way or the other

  • Quote from AlexCat: “Quote from Marcos24: “Yeah UB holds zero interest for me. UB to me is a tedious computer game with the worst graphics ever, I’d rather play WH total war. We have to remember there’s different types of players here. For some of us it’s not even about the rules, or at least that’s not priority or even a minimal requirement. Designers are trying to balance both groups ” And yet you dont see "sportive" players teaching fluffy ones how to build a thematic roster. ” I have no idea…

  • @jimmygrill I care more about fluff and background, and art by far more than rules. (Though I admit good rules are a necessity for keeping people from getting sick and tired of a game). And personally I never liked the WoC fluff. You can be more into background and lore than anything and still dislike over the top goofiness I love the more grounded reality of T9A, a millions times over the other stuff. We just need to focus on it and deliver more

  • Look, guys. Let’s step back and look at this objectively, what sort of presentation is most likely to attract more players? I strongly believe that for the majority of people in the world, maybe not most of the people in this thread... but majority of people in the world, offering something visually appealing is more effective then just relying on our great set of rules. looks will catch their attention and bring them here, personality (background and rules) will make them stay. Art, or backgrou…

  • @kisanis that’s not really what I meant, for example, at least you have all vermin and I think they still all match, maybe not perfectly as though they were all from one sculptor... But let’s say you mixed your GW slaves with Lubart’s WWI themed rats... that’s where I’d say ok, well I hope to not see too much of that. Your examples of early gamers using what they can to form their army is great, but they still put work and effort into giving them a cohesive look, and we can see that from picture…

  • Quote from kisanis: “ Hell, warhammer started as a way for people to play mass combat games with fantasy RPG miniatures. The whole 'official' miniatures line wasn't a thing until 3rd, and really didn't take route until 4th edition. Back in the 80's people played WHFB with Citadel, Grenadier, Ral Partha, whatever they had! T9A is, if anything, a return to those DIY roots of the wargaming hobby. ” that’s a great point, you look at the Warhammer Ancient Battles books, and they’re filled with pictur…

I’m just happy it’s different than Warhammer

  • @Filthor they have a Warcraft style which I’ve always preferred over Warhammer orcs, very cool! I’ve shared this post a couple times now edit: But yeah that’s no damsel haha

  • lol thank you, but I've moved away from fantasy for now, it just wasn't that popular, plus I'm enjoying this more. I'm currently doing models for the Reconquista in Spain, starting with 11th century. Head over to the KoE models section and you'll see whats available this month

  • That actually seems extremely expensive to me for what it is, maybe look through MyMiniFactory, you’ll find much better prices for things there
