@TobiasP You do know, there are people that are a whole head taller than other people I don't mind sculpts of different heights, I've got room for both tall and short ogres. But I can understand why that is not everyone's taste. Thanks for share the Iron Hammer miniature ogre though, had not seen that one before

  • Quote from micdicdoc: “This might have been asked already, but how is it you paint the gravel on the bases? Any tips or insights as well that you can share for the other pieces which adorn the bases - like the leaves, tufts, etc? ” The gravel is nothing fancy. Glued down sand that I paint with Burnt Umber, the drybrushed with Mahogany Brown, and finally lightly drybrushed with Brown Rose (all paints from Vallejo Model Colour, but any dark brown, reddish brown and pinkish brown would work). The t…

Hey! Good to see you found your way to the Hobby Hub, welcome! Those Arquebusiers look really neat. I've never tried my hand at 10mm minis myself, but it looks like you picked out their tiny detail very nicely. Plus the pink and green look cool together. Hoping to see more of this soon

Quote from Eisenhans: “ Someone who knows what is wrong when an airbrush doesn't shoot colour but rather bubbles and "farts" it out in small drops? I'm really n00b and could use some advice before I ragequit and send the compressor through a wall or something. Everything is clean and there is good pressure up to the nostril (or whatever it's called). Cheerio! ” I've had the same problem, and my best guess is that the issue comes from the paint being too thick. When I encounter it, I usually add …

  • Quote from TobiasP: “Im sooo impressed how you manage to put so many different colours on them and yet theres isnt one too many.. ” Thanks mate! I've had some concerns about maybe using to many colours in the army, so it means a lot to hear that it works Quote from Villon: “i love this unit... ” Thank you! I just hope I can power through and get it finished soon

  • Quote from denelian5: “@Mad 'At Thank you very much! Yeah, I know the pictures don't show everything, especially not the burnt tree club. I was a bit rushed for pictures in order to enter the competition at CDO in time so I just took the bare minimum with my phone and haven't had time to do a better photo session since then. The model is really wide when taking pictures so the perspective is easily thrown. I'm actually thinking of turning this one over to you for the Feedback Paintshop thread. I…

  • Quote from Litoperez: “Great work! Do you have any painting technique to speed up thouse Non Metallic Metals? They look fantastic but I guess it can take a long time, specially for an entire unit. ” Thanks! It is actually True Metallic Metal, and as it happens I'm working on a tutorial right now. If all goes well it should be up this weekend. Quote from WastelandWarrior: “immense! so much character! ” Thank you

Quote from Arduhn: “Good news! My suggestion made it through to the next heat! wargamesatlantic.com/blogs/new…QwLjBf96gHXRxXTUq_QpCtRlY (Sorry for hijacking your thread!) ” Nah, it's cool! Thanks for sharing Meanwhile, I have another update, although a delayed one. I did just about manage to finish up 10 Imperial Guard last week, but didn't bother to photograph them until now. The first 5, with a dwarven musician and a halfling: 36333-db6750c1-large.jpg And the orc unit filler: hAa10QT.jpg EDIT:…

  • Awesome giant! You've made great use of colours I think, with splashes of orange here and there. The orange hair really draws the eye to the face, and the flames on the ground help to keep it balanced. I was curious about the burnt tree club you mentioned in text, but was sad to see that the pictures don't really show it. From what I can see it looks cool, but I would love a close up taken from the side. The WIP shots reveal that the tree is forked, but that doesn't show at all in the painted pi…

  • I think the GW snakes could be used just fine as cav. You might have to be a little creative to fit them on the bases, but ruleswise they would work well. There are even two kinds right, one with bows and the other with lances? Sounds like Shadow Riders and Dread Knights to me. The bloodwrack could be used as a Gorgon instead, seeing as she is the only one with actual snake hair.

Quote from Arduhn: “That giant looks amazing! Great job. I’m going to have to reference these pictures when I get around to painting my giant. Also really like that unit of imperial guard. I have that same ogre in my own unit. I really love those marauder ogres. I’ve toyed with the idea of doing an ogre army in that style with halflings for scraplings. ” Thank you! I'm glad to inspire Very true about the marauder ogres, they are lovely. I'm considering starting a detachment OK army to use next t…

So far so good, another 10 Imperial Guard finished this week: 36226-34822e4c-large.jpg' 36227-d29736a0-large.jpg Finally figured out how to paint chainmail on these dudes. The trick was just to keep it really dark

  • Another week, another ten Imperial Guard: 36226-34822e4c-large.jpg 36227-d29736a0-large.jpg I tried out some new things for taking pictures. A new background and actually photographing inside using artificial lighting. Turned out pretty good I think, so will probably stick to it. Quote from Hillbilly Carl: “The painting is great but I especially like all the small conversions and unique models you've mixed into the unit. It just adds so much character. ” Sorry, forgot to respond earlier! Very gl…
