Quote from Macho_Techmarine: “I mean, the Javelins may as well act like spears in combat, because that's what they were really. ” im no expert so not pretending to know everything. The only period/era im aware of where javelins were used in mass organised combat was the classical, and the roman pilum (javelin ) and greek javelin couldnt be used in melee- too thin. I believe its to do with weight and sturdiness- a spear that can withstand the force of spearing is too heavy too try far. Spear does…

“This game rule should work like because in real life....” I’m not failing into this oubliette of Internet despair. Again.

  • I thought the graphics were crisp,.. but the animation- the movements- were clunky and unnatural. I thought the tw1 was cooler.

Quote from Vulgarsty: “do we hold a library of open source stl files? ” in my club there are 2 other guys printing so we share. Its not something that should be done on a larger scale but combined with buying patreon packages your library gets big quick.

Quote from Marcos24: “@Damo is that also with hollowing out the big models? ” yes- hollowing is pretty much a given. Drainage holes are still an area to work on though.

Quote from nomrakram: “Thanks all - I am just trying to get a rough idea of print costs (if I were to start printing myself) Quote from Damo: “My rough yardstick for you- ive printed half a SA army for 1l of resin so far and thats not being very efficient. 3 big monsters, 3 pterandons, 20 temple guard, 1 cuatl, 4 weapons beasts, and a few other models. ” So how much is a liter of YOUR resin? ” ~us$33 per litre. I didnt do the price because it varies on shipping and currency. So in resin a full a…

i agree its easy to end up not making any savings by buying 3d models printed. costing models is hard because prints fail, causing you to lose resin from both the print and what gets lost in the clean up. My rough yardstick for you- ive printed half a SA army for 1l of resin so far and thats not being very efficient. 3 big monsters, 3 pterandons, 20 temple guard, 1 cuatl, 4 weapons beasts, and a few other models. I could do better but im sure all 3d printers would say the same of themselves... F…

  • Quote from Marcos24: “think about it guys, there's no indication to a RnF game outside of the setting's connection to WHF ” sure. But it will sell more models. I dont play aos but i suspect you dont get 100+ model games. And the only way to do so and not have a mess is to jam them in (rank and file)

  • Quote from Stunt: “Aos minis with their round bases to sit in large rectangle bases like a type of system KOW does, could be another option ” yeah thats why i suspect it wont be 20/25mm based.

  • Quote from CaptainChaos: “i haven't read all pages, but i will still give my opinion about this. ” this is equal parts lazy and wise. Quote from CaptainChaos: “ I don't play 9th age anymore. ” its a bit odd that your here then. Unless youve no choice (no one to play with)

  • my money: old world: apocalypse for 40k. System for ‘big’ games of AoS. but: bases sizes will be bigger than 20/25 mm standard due to bigger footprints of AoS models (scale is the same but poses are more spread out).

  • i blame the topic. Theres so little in Geedubs release some ‘forum drama over nothing’ filled the vacuum.

  • Quote from JordanBladen: “Quote from Damo: “personally i cant wait till next year when they release a COLOUR map. ” is that not colour dude? ” beige? Not really

  • personally i cant wait till next year when they release a COLOUR map.

  • ‘you guys thought we’d forgot our hints about the old world, but hah! We drew a map! Sure theres no original content on it, but we put a lot of time into pulling those stock images together! 10s of minutes!’

Quote from tiferet: “How would BH fight vs army that shoots better, casts better and fights (probably, this needs playtesting) better?! That is a tough question Sure we can fil out roster with chariots if we know we are going to fight elves, but if we are looking on single player tournament lists, I see us in big disadvantage ” I’m not seeing how they shoot better. The bolt thrower is better at 8 s5 shots, and can move. But the repeaters are terrible, at 1 s3 18’’ Getting them 9” is Suicide, if …

  • Quote from Gym Shorts: “Quote from Damo: “so- bad at chaff= hard to win chaff game=hard to gets charges = knights only good (but not super good) if charging= koe arent great. ” Complain about KOE and ignore all contrary examples > improving one’s play ” Are you reading this whole thread and all I’ve said, and concluding I’m just complaining or just this one post?

  • so- bad at chaff= hard to win chaff game=hard to gets charges = knights only good (but not super good) if charging= koe arent great.

  • Quote from Sir_Sully: “Quote from Damo: “To do so, it helps to have a good chaff game. And KoE has one of the worst. 1 chaff unit out of special. All the elves do it better, so to VC, and pretty much everyone except for DH are just as good. ” I'm not sure that I agree with this. I think that KoE chaff game is pretty good you just have to redefine what you think chaff is... See below: ” Sure; anything under or around 200 points that can be used to actually inhibit your opponent from moving freely…
