  • Mist Walkers Mirror notes that the unit counts as having performed a march move. Being Shaken prohibits making a march move. Does being Shaken (from say failing a charge) prohibit use of the Mirror?

Quote from duxbuse: “Quote from youngseward: “I reckon new book is hands down better to play against than old DE. And that’s as a BH player, which is an army that really suffers from a lot of the changes. ” Really I'd love your insight into this. perhaps not in bobo's spot, unless he doesnt mind. ” So from a primarily BH perspective as Ive only played against the new book with BH (but done so about 8 times). - No Occultism+Familiar dragon to make an essentially uncatchable, massive damage output…

I reckon new book is hands down better to play against than old DE. And that’s as a BH player, which is an army that really suffers from a lot of the changes.

  • Quote from duxbuse: “Quote from youngseward: “Very similar to what I was running in 2019 and having very satisfactory results with, it seems to give me a wealth of options in every game. I think it lacks a bit and will struggle against finely tuned, top lists, but for 90% of games it should give me a good shout. ” I dunno, seems pretty scary to me. Guess its up to whether the mammoth hunter adds enough extra value versus a regular rock auroch. What match up do you think is bad for you? ” I recko…

  • Got a 2 day 4.5k event coming up next weekend. Not many players - looks like 10 at this stage. But after much introspection and seeking advice from others re whether I should take my BH or OK, Ive gone with the Ogres. Ogre Khans 640 - Mammoth Hunter, Light Armour, Paired Weapons (Shield Breaker), Ogre Crossbow, Obsidian Rock, Rock Aurochs, Rottenjaw 400 - Shaman, General, Wizard Adept, Pyromancy, Iron Fist, Magical Heirloom, Rod of Battle, Firebrand 770 - 10 Bruisers, Standard Bearer (Banner of …

  • Quote from Wesser: “By my reckoning declaring any army the weakest is kinda flawed as no army is really there. We do however have 2 types of army with issues which be divided into: 1. Armies that struggle to win BIG (Typically BH/DH), and while not weak often struggle to reach podium because they have trouble scoring 20-0 2. Armies that have a higher number of extreme matchups (Typically SE), that simply struggle disproportionately against certain armies/lists ” I dont think BH struggle to win b…

  • Quote from skipschnit: “1. Are the beast herds a natural race, or were they “created” by mutations, spell gone wrong, or deals with the supernals? ” Its unlikely we would ever get a clear answer on this, as there are no omniscient narrators in 9th and there is noone in the world who would know their origins. So basically the answer is "no-one knows how the beasts came to be".

  • Quote from youngseward: “ Quote from Sigmund Selig: “The origins of the Beast Herds are lost deep in the Ages of Ruin, and none can say be sure from whence they came. “But I can say with some certainty that they are no daemon-spawn - whatever the Church of Sunna may claim.” The sage believes they are a people shaped by their own will and magic, as much as by their environment and origins. ” ” Quote from skipschnit: “1. Are the beast herds a natural race, or were they “created” by mutations, spel…

  • Did I say bulk update? What I meant was, 2 reports followed by 5 more all dropping on the same day. I figure Ill Netflix this so y'all can binge rather than spreading out the goodness to keep up the excited anticipation Im sure you all feel. So, 3k over the board event in sunny Brisbane. Australia's heartland for both rugbah leeg and T9A. The People's Republic of Queensland. God's Country. To say I was keen to head up north, go to Movie World, see the boys, and play some real 9th would be an eno…

  • For any of you lads with background questions - we have an opportunity to come up with 5 questions for the background team. Relevant thread to discuss is here.

  • Hey all, for anyone wondering about the fluff for our army - now is your time! We have an opportunity to ask five questions to the Background Team about BH so we can get a better idea of the story of the beasts. So, if you guys have things you want to know post questions here. Happy to have some discussion around the questions too, as we do only have 5 questions to ask so we will need to prioritise what we need to know. For some reference if you guys haven't seen, the information the BH ACS coul…

  • Another bulk update today. Some people might say I should spread out my content drops to farm those likes, but given my sporadic contributions that might mean it would take me 5 months to finish a tournament worth of reports. So, 3 man teams. Game v @Arthur. The ol Dread Elf gambit where at pairings I feel like I can play the opposing Dread Elf list and by deployment realise how very very wrong I was... I didn't take many pictures, so all I have is this: kR39pny.jpg This is from after my T2 move…

Tip #2 re not dropping for first seems to fly in the face of what I have heard from other top players. Personally , I would say I agree with you and find counterdeploying is far more valuable to me. But Ive also heard a lot of people say that dropping for first is an enormous advantage. Is this something you find your brains trust agreeing with or are you out on a limb here?

  • I think that is the best unit of 25 VS models Ive ever seen. I also agree with Tobias that the one on the right looks better to me. Especially from tabletop perspective, I think the harsher highlights will be more noticeable and make the unit pop more.

Quote from dan: “Well that’s interesting, I’ve always spelled it “Duellist” and it appears both are recognized variants: QhfErIw.jpg I suppose we should utilize whichever is used in the UK to maintain “armour” and “daemon” protocol. Anybody know? ” en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/duelist#English Indicates duellist is the UK spelling. Which checks out to me as thats what we tend towards in Australia and duellist looks correct to my eyes

  • Quote from kgkid: “I have tried the Rune of Readiness in a few games, and it is pretty interesting. The first idea I had, did not actually work, as it was too dangerous, and I forgot about a good piece of combat reform rules... Anyway, going from wide to narrow does not work as ideally, but going from narrow to wide enough goes perfectly well. I found it one of the better runes we have. ” Quote from berti: “I think it is fine in kings guard, keeping them narrow and expanding when the charge is f…

  • Quote from Kreln: “Quote from berti: “Kings guard is the unit that needs the kings power the least from whole book. Best use of them is when you have another general than king and put general inside them. And king to any unit that needs his output. ” but, King surely must be the general!I understand that from the game mechanics its not worth it but com'n King is a King.. ” So one of the things I thought of which might sound like a bit of a fluff cop out to excuse powergaming, but if you had a yo…
